Who is your unusual crush?

Who do you find attractive but they're perhaps not attractive in a conventional way?

I'll start with David Baddiel. Something about him. His facial hair is sexy. He did a series cycling round France with Hugh Dennis (who I also have a crush on) and the pair of them were a joy to watch. Witty and intelligent. He's also fiercely proud of his Jewish heritage.

Amol Rajan. I think it’s the beautifully manicured hands Blush

Steven Mackintosh (actor)

David Dickinson, as in Dickinson’s Real Deal. And I’m a lesbian. I probably need therapy.

I just imagine him driving me round in an open-topped vintage car, like Toad of Toad Hall and taking me to a lovely country pub for dinner. Not sure about the sex though, he’d have to take off all that jingly-jangly jewellery first. And wear really nice aftershave, because I worry he probably smells a bit musty from all those antiques.

Oooo Tony soprano

LumpyandBumps · 02/08/2026 18:46

Kevin Ashman. He’s so quietly intelligent.

Michael Gove

I've never really minded Michael Gove, I think it's because he was adopted. I always got the impression that he is one of the few Tories who genuinely wanted to help people.

He went up in my estimation even more with the rumours of him going to clubs on his own and dancing while off his tit's. The rumours are probably false, but I like to think they are true.

AliceNotInChains · 02/08/2026 18:44

Also Anthony Hopkins - even though he’s old enough to be my grandad

AliceNotInChains · 02/08/2026 18:42

Zia Yusuf

Yes! I get this!

Can't believe I'm not even namechanging for this - my embarrassing ones were/are:

Eddie Izzard (pre: the Suzy days); and
Keith Lemon 😳

@AutismMum2017 Dave Grohl is a God! In fact I have a photo of him and Josh Homme on my phone as wallpaper (obviously I have a thing for redheads and beards)

Tom Burke

HedgehogShoes · 02/08/2026 18:35

I really appreciate a certain brand of masculinity that's a bit gruff, big and has a gentleness underneath. So mine are . . .

John Goodman
Bob Hoskins
John Wayne

LittleRobins · 02/08/2026 18:35

Lord Tumble. But no other Tumbles, only him. I must be after the money and the mansion!

BookishZen · 02/08/2026 18:35

Mine would be Darragh the Menace from the Chase

Bravo about Who do you think you are!!!!

Oh, I like Who do you think you are!
I don't care about people's heritage in a broad sense e.g .if they discover they have Irish or Bangladeshi heritage or whatever, but the stories of their individual ancestors are usually very interesting.

HollyhocksandPeons · 02/08/2026 18:34

LuckyHazelFox · 02/08/2026 17:49

Michael Portillo.

I think Porta Loo gives off a really nice, kind vibe.

StayGoldenPonyGirl · 02/08/2026 18:33

Dudley Moore, Sylvester McCoy, Jools Holland, Blackadder. Small men with strong features, dark hair and a talent.

Not at all reflected in what I did marry, though!

HollyhocksandPeons · 02/08/2026 18:32

PaddlerRock · 02/08/2026 17:14

I had a crush on William Hague as a teen. I sent him a letter on my Rimmel 'R U' paper and sprayed it with my perfume.

Bravo! Love that!

LambriniBobInIsleworthISeesYa · 02/08/2026 18:16

Reece Shearsmith, yes! Absolutely!!This has just come to me now I’ve read everyone else and I can’t edit. Weirdly I find him hotter when he’s being evil and hotter still as Mr. Jelly. Something very wrong with me.

I get it. Mr Jelly is very quick and funny in a sardonic and cutting way, which is attractive.

LuckyHazelFox · 02/08/2026 18:31

Peter Kyle sacked Business Secretary
Gabriel Byrne in the Assassin

HollyhocksandPeons · 02/08/2026 18:29

Davros · 02/08/2026 17:57

Come on, EVERYONE fancied him in that role and I was only about 12 😆
Also agree with @HollyhocksandPeons about the banging on about heritage. We’ve all got one ffs. I can’t watch “Who Do You Think You Are” because it just makes me think “who the fuck cares!”

Bravo about Who do you think you are!!!!

SusanChurchouse · 02/08/2026 18:29

A lot of these don’t seem that unusual to me. Richard Osman for example is charming, funny and successful. The politicians are high status. All of these are quite normal things to find attractive. The guy from the Sewing Bee is a legit hottie.

I used to work in the HoC so met a lot of politicians and some are very good at turning on the charm and making you feel a bit special. Comes from talking to the public a lot I think. Jeremy Hunt had a look on his face like he enjoyed the smell of his own farts, but he’s not a bad looking guy. Rees-Mogg was very charming, although he holds views I find deeply unpalatable. Ed Milliband has a lovely demeanour, I can see why he had a wee army of female fans.
