Not only the second thread of course, but maybe with them filling so fast it is time to start numbering them?

@Iamateadrinker for what? I didn't call you personally a loser it's not an insult. Someone on reddit made an analogy about football and how the losers are the ones that question all the ref decisions. They made a good point.

I don't think that person has watched much football

Still waiting for an apology...

How can you count Karen Rees? The manager who wouldn't remove her from the unit and is desperately trying to save her own skin is supporting her. Wow big shock. She didn't work WITH her on the unit as a nurse. Who is the other one?

The babies were all fine in Sophie Ellis and Ashleigh Hudson's care. And she did literally blame one or two nurses saying they could've harmed the baby-Mel I think was one of them although I can't remember what she said.

She said that it was Mel Taylor who gave fluids to baby A, so that if there has been a (presumably) accidental air embolism at that point, it would have been administered by Baby A. What would you expect her to say in these circumstances?

One reason I can count Karen Rees because showing remorse and recognising your error is counted in your favour if you are convicted of gross negligence homicide, so she is actually doing the exact opposite of saving her skin. (I doubt she is senior enough to be in line for this anyway)

Veronika Jiraskova was a trainee doctor who worked alongside Lucy Letby on the ward during the indictment period

@Firefly1987
Have you read my latest post?
I'm interested in your response
I want justice for the victims in this case - the babies, the parents, the accused - when the case against her is so flawed,- what is your response to that?

Firefly1987 · 10/08/2026 23:02

Oftenaddled · 10/08/2026 21:55

Karen Rees and Veronika Jiraskova at least; lots of others have said they had no concerns at the time, and we don't know what they think now.

Lucy Letby certainly mentioned others like Sophie Ellis and Ashleigh Hudson as being less experienced than she was when it was relevant to her testimony. Both of them also testified to being willing to hand responsibilities to her for the same reason. I don't see any throwing under the bus in this. It's an objective fact that the guidelines in place during the indictment period meant that only two of the unit's level 5 nurses were qualified to give ICU care unsupervised, and it's clear that Chester violated these guidelines frequently.

TBH i have seen your posts and comments to others and it just seems like you are totally deluded and cannot handle how wrong you got this. You are not part of the investigation or important you sound like a total blowhard.

I just laugh at these sorts of comments where the poster might as well be talking about themselves but seems to have no idea.

It's not me being self-important thinking I know better than everyone who was part of the investigation and court case. You think Joe Nobody on youtube knows more than the police it's absolutely laughable. And your comments about out before Christmas make me think you're not being serious.

You laugh away

I think some of the guys on youtube are fantastic they really know their stuff and can explain everything, they could help you to have a better understanding if you decide to listen to another opinion and have a night off.

I also think the Cheshire Police made some mess of this, some of them are seriously thick and in the wrong job. And that is being polite.

Well it is confusing for everyone that says she is guilty cos they have no idea how she done it and just focus on her going to work all the time.

Everything about the case is falling apart i knew it was a MOJ when i watched Operation Humdinger and seen the behaviour of the cops. It was unbelievable how biased they were there was no interest in a proper investigation just confirmation bias, some woman even decided being normal is evidence of guilt.

No need for techicality she is walking, someone asked when id say before Xmas to be with family hopefully not the last time as parents are old and my god what they have been through is horrific.

@Firefly1987
You do realise that calling someone " a loser" is a childish thing to do?
To me this case is not about an individual only ( although if she is innocent I have enormous sympathy for her and her family)
It's about making sure that these precious babies deaths are investigated properly and that if there were faults on the unit and at the trial it can never happen again.
This is absolutely necessary for our society.
So please don't resort to inane insults.
I respect your point of view ( until you insult me) please can you do the same to people with opposing views?

Every time I check out that video I am amazed it's still up. It exposes so many problems with the case. I wonder if it will last long once the police force comes under new management ...

It is incredible how bad it is but in an odd way it did actually help Lucy same with the Netflix propaganda film where her mum screams and they decide to bounce into her bedroom first thing in the morning.

I cannot believe they put it online and as far as i know it is still there. They are all dressed up for a night out but offer very little comment on the case or speak about what she actually done. Just high 5s and talk about how wonderful it worked out it was so bad absolutely shocking really.

Firefly1987 · 10/08/2026 22:36

@Iamateadrinker but you are on the losing side, it's just factual.

It's not a confusing case. You've been duped by the people feeding you innocence propaganda.

Yeah sure, everyone involved in getting justice is useless/evil etc. boy that's a lot of people that have to be useless at their job and/or villains to make this one woman be innocent.

The government absolutely care what the people think and the support this innocent young woman has makes covering it up pretty much impossible, she is coming home you just have to deal with it.

Lol sure. Even if she did manage to get out on a technicality (which I seriously doubt) it'll be years before that happens. I won't get the party poppers out yet.

Well they're wrong aren't they, and terrible judges of character. You do know hoards of people came out in support of Harold Shipman at first? Some of whom had lost more than one family member to him?

Who of her own colleagues has come out in support of her except that Janet woman who didn't even work closely with her? The way she threw others under the bus as being less experienced than her I seriously doubt anyone she worked with has supported her.

Chief Constable Mark Roberts said:

I had hoped to take the force through to 2028, but the decision has been made to take the force in a different direction

He was pushed then. Oh dear, what a shame.

We are all losers in modern Britain my friend but that is for another thread.

I think i know quite a lot about the subject but obviously not everything, i watch youtube and not the government tv channels which have been shameful. You will know which people i like to listen to on there they know their stuff and can explain for the rest of us that find it all a bit confusing at times.

Who are the actual serious people you speak of ?
The biased judge, the crazy welshman, the hopeless coppers like Hughes, the journos that celebrated the verdict but no longer cover the story ?

I have been trying to find information on the approximate age of Paul Hughes as I am fairly certain I knew him many years ago. I can’t say for sure because he had more hair then!

Interesting that he wanted to stay on but wasn't allowed to. He has been resolutely supportive of Operation Hummingbird. He wrote David Davis a letter (leaked to the press) that was bizarrely inaccurate, after Davis criticized the police investigation in Parliament.

There have been a number of alleged leaks from the police investigation that are potentially very damaging: the early list of cases that Evans found suspicious where Lucy Letby wasn't on shift; the e-mail from Dr Jayaram mentioning that Lucy Letby called him to baby K's cot; the file of emails and reports showing Evans and the police building the case together: and most recently Dr Jayaram's interview with the police where they discussed changing the interpretation of the data. The last happened very much under Roberts's watch.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of that leak, and of the CPS confirmation that they won't be pressing further charges, which is surely the final gasp of Operation Hummingbird. If there is any prospect of the police scrutinising that operation from within, that will presumably happen much more easily under new leadership

I don’t believe they are ‘wrong.’ I believe they have raised valid concerns.

Her character is not on trial. Her crimes are; if indeed there were any crimes.

The actual serious people in this case know she’s guilty

@Firefly1987 if i play devils advocate for a moment and accept that the original verdict was most probably correct and that she is guilty and rightly is in prison for this - if I put my personal view totally to one side and go along with this, I still couldn’t agree with the above statement.

There have been numerous ‘serious people’ transcending political viewpoints, race, religion, age, levels of education and gender. It is unusual, shall we say, for the telegraph and the sun, or even the telegraph and the guardian, to agree. We’ve had the panel, we’ve had Jeremy hunt, we’ve had a number of MPs, we’ve had NHS staff (including her own colleagues) and the House of Lords - even parents of children she treated. It really isn’t a few isolated bonkers people. And I’d have to concede that even if my personal view was that she is guilty.

The law doesn't care what uninformed people on social media think thankfully or we'd all be in trouble.

The actual serious people in this case know she's guilty and not getting out. It's only the losers screaming from the rooftops.
