Bums hanging out of the bottom of teeny tiny shorts

I knew someone would try to draw a parallel with this.

Wearing lycra for a particular sport, like cycling or swimming isn't the same as walking around in public showing your bottom. It's embarrassing.

Honestly it’s ridiculous to follow this type of fashion and let our kids go out in no clothes. Freedom is one thing but dressing up in a way that exposes private parts is distasteful!

I really hate it. You can have short shorts without arse cheek hanging out. Round here this last week local schools have let the kids come in PE kit. The boys all had normal length shorts (like football shorts) but the girls were a different style. They’re a much shorter style than the boys and there was definitely bum cheek hanging out and this is for school! It’s obscene. I think some of the older girls are squeezing into the shorts they had in year 7.

I think it's inappropriate, people used to dress appropriately to the situation. Clothes like this are suitable for beach or clubbing not the supermarket.

I've seen this lately too on young women. Not hotpants, not Daisy Dukes, but just plain naked bum cheeks right out in a busy city street. I do try not to be judgemental about sexy clothes and while I don't really like thong swimsuits, they don't seem out of place in a pool or beach. But essentially naked bums on the high street does feel really off and I really can't help thinking it just looks horrible whatever the person's physique. It's just an unpleasant aesthetic.

I know I'm getting old but while I wore some crazy stuff in my youth, I never had my arse full out in public.

Yesterday in town a girl aged about 16 was walking towards me with her boyfriend. She was wearing a pair of those “arse cheeks hanging out shorts” but had the zip and button undone so I could see the top of her pants.

I looked at DC who was with me and we were no the aghast.

The only word for that was grim.

There are a lot of young women down at the beach this past week wearing teeny thong bikinis, tight low slung leggings and shorts with bum cheeks on display.

In the 70s I wore hot pants and also wore crop tops too but your backside was well covered with material..

Personally, I think they reveal rather too much but do have a twinge of envy at the bum shape on a lot of them.

I dream of having a bum that looks that good as mine seems to have slipped out of sight as I've aged, I think it's halfway down my thighs. 😳

i saw a lot of this on young teenage girls at an event last weekend. It’s less that the bum cheeks are hanging out and more that the shorts are like Brazilian underwear, and are so far up their arse there is no material to cover their bums.
