Bums hanging out of the bottom of teeny tiny shorts

I was at the Harry Styles concert at Wembley few nights ago. Approx 95% female audience. About half the young women and girls were wearing extremely revealing outfits, including loads and loads of sequin hot pants, tiny denim shorts with arse cheeks on display and bikini tops (it was hot!).

I don’t think any of it was for ‘the male gaze’. Just youngsters having fun with fashion.

In the 60's there was outcry at the shortness of the mini skirts so many young women were wearing. Same in the 20's from older women still in Victorian fashions and so on.

You don’t have to like or support what people wear, but there’s a difference between opinion and calling young women ‘disgusting’ or using sexualised insults, as some people have on this thread. That’s the point being made.

Wonderbra under a lace top! Paired with a tartan, pleated mini-skirt or hipsters that showed the top of your thong…oh my god, you’ve properly taken me back. I really did think I looked sophisticated too 😂

I've never been to a cycle track. Couldn't bear all the MAMILS comparing times and wearing those goat shoes they do.

I actually don't think that, generally, they are trying to look sexually provocative. I think they are trying to look fashionable. Being revealing has an edge to it but I think it's more about the style, such as it is, than provocation.

I never had my arse out in the street or on the beach but I did sometimes wear stuff like a Wonderbra under a lace top or a top done up with only lacing at the sides. I realised boys might like it and it would help if I was on the pull but it was more about trying to look sophisticated and cool. And failing, but still, that was the intention.

I have unfortunately. I was with my 9 year old daughter behind a woman in the checkout queue at The Range who looked in her 30s wearing them.

How can any of us ‘not look’? I don’t want to see a girl’s underarse any more then I want to see a male’s arse crack but if they are hanging out I don’t have a choice! How do you suggest we move around the streets with our eyes closed?

I'm not a massive fan of arse cheeks on display but I did see the most gorgeous young woman in sporty shorts (not micro shorts) the other day. That figure was proof of God's existence I can tell you.

I dont see why we have to support every stupid thing women may choose to wear, or double standard they choose to promote.

I think OF has infiltrated social media to the extent where this is normal now. Some of the most high profile OF girls have massive female followings.

If nobody cared we'd all walk the streets naked. It's what it is to be human to care what we and others wear. It always has been and is likely to be for the foreseeable future.

That would be more of a leakage scenario or bad wiping technique

I actually haven’t seen one woman wearing these; only girls. Children. In the 13-16 age bracket.

Just wish someone would finish the job and walk the high street naked. It’s as though young women and girls are egging each other on. Perhaps a positive outcome would be to desexualise the female body.

I just think have they had a shower or a bath before they put them on! #skidmarks

To be fair, I feel like I’ve seen many builders bums bent over to pick up a 4 pack of sausage rolls in Greggs.

Can we question why these particular items become trendy or why cosmetic surgery is on the rise? Or is that unsupportive?

Women often say they can wear what they like but still object to flabby men going shirtless, builders crack jeans etc etc.

Either that or people just don't want to look at other people's arses cheeks in Greggs.
