Pulling a sickie.

MN has conniptions about taking time off work for any reason other than your leg has been severed and you're bleeding out, or you have sepsis.

(But also, don't go into work if you have a cold because you might kill someone vulnerable.)

colleague I work with tells me when he’s going to pull one. Can’t say I’m worried about it. I’ve pulled one or two in my time.

I'd say benefits - seems to be a lot of hatred and benefit bashing on here, and I say that as someone who is not on them.

Allowing older children to sort things out for themselves.

Paid bars at weddings
Fascinators at weddings.
Not paying for everyone’s meal if you invite them to a restaurant for your birthday.
School PTA’s
Being disappointed if grandparents won’t help at all (such as occasional baby sitting not weekly childminding)
None-Russell Group universities
Not taking maths A level.
Taking sociology GCSE / A level.
Teens getting 4/5/6’s in their GCSE’s rather than a clutch of 8-9’s

Mumsnet really does make me realise there are a lot of people out there with quite odd views!

Booze is a funny one on here, there isn't much middle ground.

You are 1) an alcoholic if you drink more than a thimble of sherry at Christmas or 2) it's absolutely fine to drink 4 glasses of wine every single night.
