Nothing Reform or any of our politicians do has any impact on him.

On a personal note I have never thought of any politician as cool. I like competent, those are my favourite ones.

Reform voters have elected quite a few problematic candidates:

Glenn Gibbins, Reform candidate who said ‘Nigerians should be melted down to fill in pot holes’ wins seat (reported in the Metro news)

Derek Bullock who has said 'shoot the Pakis on the spot'

Jay Leslie Cooper Reform candidate who has called the Holocaust a "hoax" and "propaganda"

Stuart Prior, who stood for Reform in Rayleigh West celebrated the aggravated rape of a Sikh woman in the West Midlands and called it 'a good thing'.

Either Reform's vetting processes are absolutely rubbish or they don't find any of the above problematic in their Councillors which is alarming.

I work in music industry- Hess thoroughly disputable arse even as an older t guy and that’s well known . The only ok thing he did was look after his wife well when she was very ill

This really depends on what kind of ‘left’ you mean - I’m a centre left voter - and yes I do know a few like this but I also know tons who don’t - I’m originally from a midlands mining town but live somewhere considered quite posh now and I’m all for working class people getting on - myself included.

Reform wants to scrap the Equality act, meaning women will have no equal rights at work, no right to equal pay, no maternity protections, they have voted against increasing protections against violence for women and girls, including the right to not have their drinks spiked or photos taken without permission, they have called for a tax on childless women, less protection for women in DV cases, and I can go on and on.

They are a bunch of men who are sick in the head, and the women who support them... well I just don't understand them at all.

I’d say it’s exactly the opposite. It’s the left that hates people who do well for themselves. Because everyone should be poor and state handout dependent in the socialist playbook.

It's not the Left that are starting all these threads. The vast majority of threads since the election have been posted by Reform or Restore supporters.

They haven't called you names, but they've called plenty of other people names.

Lynn Dean (Staffordshire) for saying Black people were less intelligent than White people.

Tom Pickup (Lancashire) who called for a genocide of Muslim people

Robert Bloom (North Northamptonshire) who used racial slurs against a Black constituent

The reverse is also true unfortunately and if you haven’t seen it then you aren’t looking in the right places- Many Reform voters ( and politicians) disdain for anyone who has done ok and not a scaffolder or banker( going on both ends of their support) and simply doesn’t support them .

Devolution has been an unmitigated disaster. An absolute shitshow. The economies and public services of the devolved nations are in even worse shape than England.

Sure start centres. How imaginative. While advancing nations are building the hyperloop, or creating the tech of tomorrow, we’re supposed to be jumping up and down about….surestart. The bar is low.

Tax credit expansion has absolutely destroyed productivity in this country. Why would employers invest in automation when they can get cheap labour subsidized by the taxpayer. Better still, get cheap immigrant labour and watch the benefits bill balloon even more.

NHS spending increases is no flex. The NHS is a disaster. So are it outcomes.

Maybe think carefully about outcomes before repeating soundbites.

I have second-hand embarrassment for you OP and anyone agreeing with this. I have no need for any politician or decision-maker to be ‘cool’. I need them to be competent, principled and hard-working. Beyond the teen years, the pursuit of coolness is probably the most uncool
thing you can do!

It’s a strange syndrome that the left have. Call people racist, thick, stupid and all sorts of other other names and then wonder, cry, wail and moan that these people have the audacity to not vote the same way as they do. That these people actually choose to vote for people who don’t call them names and look down upon them with disdain.

It shows. You see it so clearly. Whenever Labour and Green politicians speak, it’s like their persona is dripping with contempt for the little people beneath them. The hate this country and they hate the electorate. They see themselves above us all.

Totally agree. He has also always been treated with kid gloves by the BBC and has never been challenged or scrutinised like MPs from other parties.

Now that the elections are over, he has only just been asked by Beth Rigby about the £5 million donation he received and he took the question very badly indeed and refused to give an answer.

I for one welcome our new overlords. I'm hoping Reform will repaint our lampposts, they're looking a bit tired. Plus there's a playground up the road that needs a new swing set. They are going to be very busy!
