Cheeselets. Ruined.

I need to inform you of a terrible, terrible thing. They’ve ruined cheeselets.

I bought a multipack with much excitement. Previously I’d bought multipacks in b&m or similar whenever I’d seen them. For a while they’ve been missing.

i often buy big bags but only Tesco appear to sell them. I am unsure if current stocks of big packs of old style cheeselets are available. In the home counties if you go and check and buy out the stock I will hunt you down.

New cheeselets are fake Doritos cheese type flavour. They are no longer slightly puffy and flaky. They are now hard and uniform.

if they fuck with treeselets we must riot.

M&S teacakes are not to my liking any more. They’re much softer and gooier, I like a little bit of resistance. They’re more like Tunnocks now, which is fine, but I like to have the choice of different styles. I wonder if they are now made by Tunnocks?

I am a mini cheddar addict. If Jacobs come for them next I’m not sure what I’ll do.

Jacob's have also ruined Twiglets as of Christmas this year. I used to have a big bag a week. I've only had 1 big bag this year. Tasteless and pointless. Cost cutting so people notice is terrible for business. They were already expensive but I'd rather a smaller bag or higher price than lower quality.

I thought they tasted different!

I bought a bag expecting to taste the original taste of Cheeselets we I have enjoyed for years 50+ well not anymore this combo of a mini cheddar and a cheese let is bloody awful. I have wasted £2 buying a bag but never again, unless I see the original blue bag containing the real Cheeselet my enjoyment will end. Typical meddling with a well established product has been screwed up, so stick your new mini cheddar cheeselet d

im sure they could make 2 versions - one ‘old style’ and one new fangled

id happily pay more and buy things slightly less frequently if they would just leave things the hell alone. Or publish the intense market research and customer and analysis that backs up the taste and design choices.

bunch of money grabbing, selfish, bureaucratic, Christmas ruining, snack stealing oafs.

They’ve taken the cheese out of twiglets so they are now vegan apparently. Now they’re just nasty bitter little twigs. I won’t buy them now, and I used to love a twiglet ☹️

Mini eggs are dead to me now. I really fancied some a few weeks ago and nearly spat it out when hubs dutifully returned from the shop with some. Gone is the dusty crunchy shell, replaced with a waxy horrible coating :(

They need to stop pulling this shit.
Never had a cheese-whateveritis, and I'm glad, because the sense of loss is dreadful. I never especially liked Twiglets, but when I tried one a few months ago as an emergency car snack, I couldn't believe how bad the transformation was. Not twiggy. Not Marmitey. Not fit for human consumption.
Chocolate, you can upgrade for the hit, or get respectable stuff in Aldi. But the trend of pissing about with the crisp aisle needs to be outlawed.

This may be a ‘oh do f off’ reply because I know it’s shit they’ve changed a perfectly good product. I don’t actually know if it was good as I don’t know if I’ve ever eaten a cheeselet or a treeselet. But I made these recently and they were superb. I made them for a no upf snack for my kids and basically ate the whole batch myself.

With the rise of weight loss injections (im nearly two years in) and the enshitification I wonder what exactly they think will happen? People won’t continue buying stuff that’s bloody expensive and rubbish. No one needs a Jaffa cake, it’s not essential. So unless they are nice and at least slightly affordable people will turn away.

YES! Jaffa Cakes. I bought some last weekend and they are half the size they used to be.
