To only invite one twin?

I’m curious. Birthday girl (7) a party with a limited number of guests. One person she invited is a twin. Their twin sister is in a different class.

Invite is refused by twins parents because they say both should have been invited?

Fair enough if it's not practical to attend with only one, but that is not birthday child's problem.

I mean, if they're identical, they literally are clones.

However.

They are different people OP so yes you don't have to invite both.

It will be a miserable life for both of them if their parents only ever let them socialise together!

They literally are not clones on account of being twins, one would have had to be spawned from the other…

crikey I’m boring myself now

definitely do not extend the invite to the other twin.

Twins are not clones at all.

I made a point of saying that my twins did not come as a pair when they were younger, it is good for them to do different things and have different experiences.

Listlostlast · 19/04/2026 17:44

Rubbish. They’re separate people and they’re in different classes anyway! Silly behaviour from the parents and the only one to really suffer is their child.

Travelfairy · 19/04/2026 17:44

Both kids have twins as friends. There's only one 'set' we invite as ds is friends with both and all in same class. Thats silly carryon. Sure other siblings dont get to go to parties, a 3 year old doesn't get invited along with the 5 year old so no difference really

Not if the birthday girl isn’t friends with the other twin. They’re sisters not clones

Is it a case of not being able to practically attend with both children?

First post nails it as always.

gamerchick · 19/04/2026 17:41

Then one of their kid misses out. Resentment will grow eventually probably.
