AIBU to think my colleague is lying about having two dogs?

I work with a work colleague on a one to one basis however I think she’s lied to me about having 2 dogs (she does have 1) as well as to various other work colleagues.

Right, OP ~ we need some answers to some very important questions

(1) What made you think that your work colleague (the one you work with) has two dogs?

(2) What has led to you believing that she only has one dog?

(3) Have you any evidence to back this up?

Sorry to be so dogmatic, my bark is worse than my bite but I've been chewing this over all night

I once worked with a girl who pretended to have a kid so she could take time off work due to her fake child being ill and other child related reasons. She even had a car seat in her car. Another woman joined the company who knew her and it all came out. Was bloody awkward for her and she left.

OMG how long did she keep this up for ? Did the child have a name and were they in the school play ?

I can see why you are upset OP, I would be too. I would log it with 101 and go NC with her.Can you ask your employer to move her from your department? You shouldn't be expected to work with such a CF.

I’m sorry you’re going through this, it must be a terrible time.

No one likes being lied to and I imagine you must be totally consumed thinking about what else your work colleague that you work with might be deceitful about.

I would be furious. In your line of work, it’s essential that all employees provide full disclosure of the number of dogs they own. It should be backed up by evidence… the Dogs’ Trust can visit homes and do an audit.

If this isn’t already company policy, it should be. Raise it with senior management, OP.

I hope you can bring this difficult situation to some kind of resolution.

Two dogs, based on the evidence, it sounds pawsable. Bowowever, in this case I think I would start a stalking campign to uncover the truth.
The best course of action would be to dress up as an RSPCA officer, remember to add a fake beard in case she recognises you and go round and say there has been a report that someone is lying about having two dogs, when in fact there are suspicions that only one resides in the property.

Having lied myself once about the number of dogs I own, I would urge you to go easy on your colleague. Prison is no easy life, take it from me.

Unless of course you are lying about the number of colleagues you have. I think you are. I think it's two colleagues, one dog, and this is all made up for kicks. Sicko.
