AIBU to think my colleague is lying about having two dogs?

I work with a work colleague on a one to one basis however I think she’s lied to me about having 2 dogs (she does have 1) as well as to various other work colleagues.

Could one live with her mum or something?

She hasnt got a mum, she completely made that up

The other dog lives with her cousin Anton.

I once worked with a girl who pretended to have a kid so she could take time off work due to her fake child being ill and other child related reasons. She even had a car seat in her car. Another woman joined the company who knew her and it all came out. Was bloody awkward for her and she left.

I was actually accused of lying about having a kid - I have no idea why but it was the talk of the workplace for ages without me realising.

My argument was why would anyone lie about having a child when they don’t have one - but obviously it’s more common than I realised!

Creepy. Did she phone up to say she’d have to be off with her sick kid and the fake child was crying in the background? 👶

Is that what it is OP? Your colleague brings a collar and lead to work? Maybe you misunderstood the job ad for ‘one to one’ work?

Everyone is being really silly here, when the OP just needed some support.

The answer is obvious. There is only one dog but it is a time traveler and had to return to a time it was already present in giving the impression that there were two dogs. HTH.

She’s obviously a liar and she’s made a right dog’s dinner of trying to convince you she’s telling the truth, you’re definitely not barking up the wrong tree. Other people might not be able to make head nor tail of how you have come to this conclusion but clearly you’re right because you’re like a dog with a bone with your detective skills and great leads. You have collared her 🤣
