To bloody love getting in bed

At night ... crisp clean cool sheets, cuppa tea and some tele! Is it sad that it's arguably the best part of my day 😂. Late 40s work full time and teenage DC

Getting into bed at night is one of the best parts of my day

YelramBob · 15/04/2026 20:30

Shower + PJ's + cats + Netflix are the best bed combo. Until the hot flushes kick in - PJ's and cats get flung off 🥵😳🤣

I went to harrods recently and the only places I want to see are the food hall and the bedding department. OMG some of those beds, I didn't even look at the prices. They were just gorgeous 😍

theonlygirl · 15/04/2026 20:22

Absolutely the best part of the day. I was thinking about upgrading the whole experience to 5* hotel level bedding.....until I estimated the cost.

emmetgirl · 15/04/2026 20:19

It’s up there with the best feelings in the world.

tinyladybird · 15/04/2026 20:07

I'm early 30s and with you! No teens but small baby. Nothing I love more, the earlier the better too. Only annoying thing is having to get out of bed to brush my teeth after my tea and snack.

Edited to add - and some classic fm with my book. Good I sound old 😂

My favourite treat is going to bed around the longest summer days while it's still light and feeling smug that all the people I can hear outside don't know what they are missing!

Oooh yes, I love being in bed on a summer evening while the light changes. Light duvet on, clean sheets.

Planner2026 · 15/04/2026 20:02

SAME

InNewYorkNoShoes · 15/04/2026 20:01

It’s perfect. It’s waaayyyy better than sat on the sofa.

But if you go to bed with a drink isn't it then horrible to have ti get out and get cold while your brush your teeth etc? I cant relax in bed until im completely ready.

This is why I only have fizzy water.

Post-warm shower and fresh sheets - heaven on earth.

Abso-bloody-lutely my lovely x

It’s my favourite place on earth. Some mornings I say bye to my lovely bed and tell it I’ll see it soon.

I really wish I was joking.

Definitely normal. I calculate how many hours it is until I can get back into it.

At the weekend I start watching the clock, even when I've only just woken up from a mid afternoon nap 😂

Wynter25 · 15/04/2026 19:46

Best place to be

User0311 · 15/04/2026 19:35

The BEST part of the day for me by far!

Disturbia81 · 15/04/2026 19:29

This has always been an amazing thing to me, how can it not be! Sleep/rest/chilling is what we need

FettleOfKish · 15/04/2026 19:28

Absolutely! Circumstances mean that nearly 2 year old DS is still in our room so we can only go to bed to sleep, or maybe read a kindle or listen to a podcast on headphones. He’ll be moving into his own room soon and I can’t wait to make our new bedroom (we’ve moved) a sanctuary of loveliness that I can retreat to and drink tea / read / watch something at my leisure. We’ve already ordered our new bed and splashed out on much more expensive bedding than we’d usually go for and it’s divine.

Snowie99 · 15/04/2026 19:23

Clean sheets or not, although obviously the best, I just love my bed. Lights off and listening to radio 4

That’s my evening sorted - thank you for bringing this to my attention!

@thewonderfulmrswatsonoh my goodness I didn’t know there was such a thing as grocery haul videos - I cannot express how up my street this is!

Collapsiblechairwithacushion · 15/04/2026 18:50

I think I'm the opposite. I usually don't go to bed until I feel ready to sleep. My bed is associated only with sleeping, so I usually turn off the light after about 5 minutes and am usually asleep very shortly after that. However, once I'm in bed I really don't like getting out! I might wake up at, say, 6:45 and eventually get out of bed at around 9:00 after listening to the Today programme on Radio 4.

Having a bath/shower before getting into clean sheets and duvet cover - even better! Possibly one of the nicest, underappreciated things going.

Especially if the bedding has been line dried and smells of fresh air. And you have a new hardback book by your favourite author. And nice smelling handcream.

Glitchymn1 · 15/04/2026 18:49

No drinks, snacks or tv. Just clean bedding, nightwear and a shower. Not until 9/10pm though.
