Hey mn!
I have just read some other posters complaining about their partners wow there seems to be a lot. I don't want that to cloud my judge ie being angry on their behalf and therefore my dh is wrong.
So I am asking here.
My baby who is 9months woke at 830am and hasn't napped today. She fought her last two naps and I have wasted an hr each time trying to get baby to nap. She usually naps but the last few days she seems more active. With no naps I have found it really impacts my night when baby doesn't nap, she has a bad night. So I have gotten ready. Dh who works from home popped downstairs and asked how day is going. I said its been full on she hasnt napped! He looked at her and said "cheeky" she laughed!
I said I was going a drive as she will nap in the car. I said I was thinking of getting a Starbucks via drive thru so I am not just driving around. At least it'll give me a destination! Then I thought ohh i could get a McDonald's! That'll sort my dinner out. Baby will nap in car. Dh then told me that was weird. I'm a grown women. And then.... wait for it... what about him? I offered to bring him mcdonalds and he said no. I then laughed and said you are a grown man I'm sure you can sort dinner. He stormed away saying "dont treat me like a child!".
Am i wrong?! He has never acted like this!!!!!!
What would you do??

Let him sulk and enjoy your Macadoos and Starbucking Coffee.

This is the conclusion he wants you to come to! Don’t feel sad, get that anger back. How dare he eat your baby’s food because he couldn’t be arsed to make himself dinner?! Lazy arsehole!

He did it so you would think twice next time about going against his ‘wishes’.
Jeez OP, don’t roll over and take this.

This. Times a hundred.

Coldiron · 14/04/2026 18:14

So tomorrow night you’ll be too busy making more pastries for baby to make his dinner. Shame.

uraniumkombucha · 14/04/2026 18:14

Surely the result of this is telling him he either bakes replacement pastries or sorts an alternative. He works at home, take the baby in when they would have had the pastries and say time to figure a replacement snack as the baby is hungry.

And honestly rethink things, the fact you are with someone that would act that spoiled and nasty is really not a good sign. I think having a baby can either bring out the best or the worst in people and he clearly wants someone to pander to his every need and the baby is stopping that.

If that were me (not that I would ever be with someone that selfish) I wouldn't make them another meal again.

popcornandpotatoes · 14/04/2026 18:12

Oh my god just read he ate the pre prepped baby food. Jeez he sounds awful!

driftingdownintomiami · 14/04/2026 18:12

This isn't how you treat someone you love either. It's just not.

popcornandpotatoes · 14/04/2026 18:11

For goodness sake some of these responses 🙄 YANBU and your husband is being ridiculous

WhisperingShadowsStoptheworldiwannagetoffNSOUl · 14/04/2026 18:11

Imagine grudging her a McDonald's after a tough day +being in the car gets baby to sleep.
Utterly pathetic,he should've been encouraging her to do what was right for her after the day she had.
It's called empathy he wants to try it some time.

driftingdownintomiami · 14/04/2026 18:10

Go in and say 'so you've had your dinner then? Oh good. Obviously you'll need to replace the baby's pastries, if you have time you can do it now or maybe tomorrow morning so there's some for the baby tomorrow. ' And then breeze off to put the baby down and leave him to stew.

kohlrabislaw · 14/04/2026 18:10

@Tomcdonaldaornot you say in your original post that he has never acted like this before… are you sure about that? He sounds like a spiteful toddler.

Tomcdonaldaornot · 14/04/2026 17:41

Omfg I'm now fuming!!! He has texted me and said "unbelievable pastries for a grown mans dinner!!" I said what pastries??? He sent a picture of the empty tupperware. That was the fucking apple and cinnamon twirls I made for baby earlier. I made about ten to last a week!!!! Omg this has taken such a turn i am now furious!!!!

Fucking hell did it not occur to him to stop digging?

You say you 'only' cook dinner 80% of the time so why couldn't he make whatever he does on the occasion that he cooks?

nomas · 14/04/2026 18:07

Tomcdonaldaornot · 14/04/2026 17:57

Anger has turned into sadness now.
Gutted. How could he do that 😔
I dont know what to say

Can you go to your mum's for a few days?

Is he often this nasty?

Tacohill · 14/04/2026 18:07

I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of being upset or angry - this is exactly what he wants.

I’d act like it was no big deal.

I’d slip in how stuffed you are though 😏

MostlyHappyMummy · 14/04/2026 18:06

He's making sure you prioritise making dinner for him otherwise there'll be consequences
as my kids would say 'What a guy!'

nomas · 14/04/2026 18:06

FrangipaniBlue · 14/04/2026 17:51

I literally did not say ANY of that in my post!!!

I mean, there’s reaching and then there’s reaching 😂😂

Again, you told OP she's selfish if she offered to bring him one back AFTER he asked what about him.

Which translates to you saying she's selfish for not immediately thinking of her DH's needs above her own. She was talking aloud about what she would do and yet you expect her brain to have jumped 2 steps ahead to what her DH needs.

Mymanyellow · 14/04/2026 18:05

I want McDonald’s now

Bumcake · 14/04/2026 18:05

He’s finished work and had his dinner already? Is he a toddler?

Exactly this!!

’so you’ll think twice next time’

Imagine being this spiteful and pathetic over a fucking McDonald’s!!

Bishbashbush · 14/04/2026 18:04

His behaviour is pathetic, selfish and passive aggressive. I’d be furious with him. Find a bit of rage and tell him all about himself. You deserve to have a meal in peace and it’s sad that he’s begrudging you a bloody McDonald’s. It’s not as if you’ve taken yourself off for a gourmet 3 course meal and left him to fend for himself. He’s a grown man and perfectly capable of chucking together a meal for himself, especially when you’re out of the house with baby.

HeadingforaHundred · 14/04/2026 18:04

Tomcdonaldaornot · 14/04/2026 17:59

Mcdonalds hasnt been worth it now 😔

Tacohill · 14/04/2026 18:04

He’s one of the most pathetic man babies I’ve ever heard about.

Just reply that you’re glad he found something he didn’t have to cook.

Don’t let him know that he upset you.

FlyingApple · 14/04/2026 18:03

Tomcdonaldaornot · 14/04/2026 17:59

Mcdonalds hasnt been worth it now 😔

I wouldn't be making him dinner again. He's very selfish and entitled.

Givemeausernamepls · 14/04/2026 18:03

Second he is punishing you… find your anger OP.

WhisperingShadowsStoptheworldiwannagetoffNSOUl · 14/04/2026 18:02

He's got hands and presumably knows where the kitchen is.
What a drama queen he is flouncing off.Dont treat me like a child.
Prick.
