Is this a porn addiction?

15 mins or so a day, most days.

Would you class that as a porn addiction?

I sit on the toilet for over 15 mins per day… but I’m not addicted to it…

Are you sure? Could you go without for a month 😂

I'm sure we're all very pleased to hear that ...poop withdrawal symptoms must be rather torturous....💩

God no. I haven't paid for porn in about 20 years! Why would anyone these days?

Some sites are behind a paywall I believe....

Why would you just take a minute or two to yourself ?
It’s nice too to take your time & enjoy even when it’s just yourself 🤷🏻‍♀️.
I like to watch it from time to time, & I have to admit my orgasms are always better when I watch it , but then i’m a very visual person .

Because I like it quick.

I have a couple of little scenarios I replay in my mind that get the job done in a minute or two. The mind is an amazing thing.

Masturbating without porn is basically that, isn't it? Thinking of rude stuff. And that does work. It's just easier with porn (not easier to come. I just mean easier to find something I want to think of in that moment)

I would be pushing for more nearer the hour mark.

It's never that long. It's for the obvious end, rather than something in and of itself that I could enjoy for ages.

Have you tried replaying whatever porn you’re into in the mind instead of actually watching it and see if that works?

If you need a prop on a regular basis to achieve an end or to make you feel better, then you have a dependency. That thing could be a cigarette, a couple of glasses of wine, online gambling, smoking a joint or indeed porn. A dependency isn't the same as addiction, although it can lead to it.

No, that's not an addiction. That's just him having his daily wank.

That's what I was going to say.

KidsLifePathQuestion · 06/04/2026 12:56

Lightfittings · 06/04/2026 12:55

Thanks for the replies.

Can I get off without it? Yes.

Am I currently in an intimate relationship? No. But that's not through lack of trying, and certainly not a choice I make because porn is more appealing.

Am I looking at 'normal' stuff? Yes.

Is the stuff I'm looking at changing? No.

It is 'just a wank' (hate that word).

Is it problematic behaviour that you want to change? I don't think it's problematic, and I wouldn't change it unless the consensus was that it was problematic.

Does it feel compulsive? No.

Could you easily stop for 3 months? I can easily stop for a week's holiday so I presume so.

Are you using it to emotionally regulate/numb out? No.

If you feel stressed/bored/lonely is it your go to? No.

Are you happy to spend your time in that way? Yes.

It sounds fine then, and not an addiction, just as you said more of a habit

Just to add, in my case I have a higher than average sex and my partner had a lower sex drive. I was mostly watching porn to help offset the times when I felt desire for him but he didn’t want to have sex. It didn’t affect the sexual energy of the relationship because I had so much of it!

and to add that it became a problem for me mainly due to the moral aspect of how women are treated. I think the 15 mins thing is irrelevant - if you think this is a problem, as I did, then then it probably is for you.

ToadRage · 06/04/2026 12:36

I think addiction would be more if you were wanting/ doing it every minute of every day and when your not doing it your thinking about doing it. Are you in a relationship and is your relationship intimate? I would only consider porn to be a problem if its prioritised over a real sexual relationship.

Notmyreality · 06/04/2026 12:36

No

ScullyD · 06/04/2026 12:34

I’ll own up here OP and say I previously had a similar issue. I’m not sure if it was an addiction because I dropped it easily in the end but it was a bad habit.

Now I may watch once every few months and it’s a real life couple having what feels like normal couply sex. Otherwise I just listen to music or podcasts or even drum up mad fantasies about celebs I’ve fancied etc from imagination.

ThatWaryLimePeer · 06/04/2026 12:29

Can you masturbate without it?

LittleCrumblyBiscuit · 06/04/2026 12:25

BauhausOfEliott · 06/04/2026 12:13

Nonsense.

OP, 15 minutes of porn a day isn’t an addiction. It’s just a wank.

This is what people tell themselves to avoid having to really think about exactly what they are watching.

BauhausOfEliott · 06/04/2026 12:13

Mischance · 06/04/2026 11:53

However short or infrequent, viewing porn damages the individual's moral sensibilities as it inures them to the exploitation of others.

Nonsense.

OP, 15 minutes of porn a day isn’t an addiction. It’s just a wank.
