Both the parents outside with the kids, several kids running around screaming at 6.30am. Do people have no shame?

It’s one day a year. Don’t be such an Easter Grinch.

This.

Yes but this isn’t about pre planning or doing the ‘right’ thing. It’s about kids having fun 🥲 good lord people are utterly miserable

I agree. What a bunch of misery guts.

ObligateAerobe · 05/04/2026 13:24

"Do people have no shame"

It's irritatingly early, sure, but shameful? They were children playing a traditional game during a religious festival, hardly 'shameful'.

Ginburee · 05/04/2026 13:24

Do you live near me?
And their next door but one neighbour let's the dog out to bark at 0600 every morning.
The children go out anytime from 6 most weekdays and weekends. It drives me nuts.
It may only be once a year but do it inside at that time.

Namechange568899542 · 05/04/2026 13:16

I agree with you OP. People letting their kids out to make noise in the garden before 9am on a weekend is a piss take.

Weird comment.

I think it was a joke

Monty36 · 05/04/2026 13:11

When small we certainly did not go out in the garden making a racket at 6.30. Nor did anyone else.
Up, eggs indoors, church.

I've always wondered why an Easter bunny leaves eggs.

If you unwrap those mini foil eggs you will find out………naughty bunny.

Flamingojune · 05/04/2026 12:55

Shithotlawyer · 05/04/2026 09:03

it's called a joke, have you not seen the "it's what x would have wanted" joke format before?

Ah I've never heard of that joke format before. Thats possibly why i dont understand why its funny

"Thoughts and prayers..."

(Yanbu. Dreadful people. Move home. Get one with a moat)

I suspect even Jesus might have asked them if they'd be so kind as to keep it down till he'd had his breakfast.

I expect he’d already eaten. Sunrise was 6.23 in Jerusalem this morning and they’re 3 hours ahead of us.

Lairymary · 05/04/2026 12:33

Well what was the weather forecast for your area today? Maybe they wanted to get it done before the weather turned. So far we haven't had our hunt as the weather is miserable, it's looking like we'll have to have a lame one inside. But yes, a little bit of consideration goes a long way, luckily our nearest neighbours are half a mile up the road, which is a big factor in why we bought the house! I wouldn't begrudge them 20 minutes once a year though, if that's all it is.

Yeah, I am a Christian, and really hate Christian bashing, but I thought this was funny too.

This is what DH and I said to each other when we were snaffling a few Hot Cross Buns on Good Friday. I don't mind the odd ribbing or cheeky joke. It's the vitriolic and hate-filled nasty shit that pisses me off, like calling God 'sky fairy' and imaginary friend,' and mocking Christians and suggesting we're all a bit weird, and laughing and mocking. What pisses me off most is that they NEVER do it to any other religion.

Wrong. Other religions receive criticism too. You just don’t notice it because it isn’t aimed at your religion. I see Muslims and Pagans claiming the same, that no one would make fun of Christianity as they do their religion of choice, but again they do.

15 people ?
You should be so lucky !
Here we have a Sunrise Service on the prom at 6.30am. complete with drums, accordions, trumpets and Easter hymn singing. 😏

Edited

Yep! There was a big dawn service on the east side of the Isle of Wight today. People sang hymns at the seafront while the sun came up.

That's fecking ridiculous! Several families in my road have kids under 6 and they are up at the arse crack of dawn because their rugrats wake them, so in their head, if THEY are awake early, then everyone else can be too. They are running around screeching in the garden, at 6.30am, (some days) and they have the music on too, blaring out of the lounge window. One of the couples opposite has a log burner, and they are out chopping logs 2 or 3 mornings a week between October and April, often at 7am. As I said, they are awake, so they think we all should be! No consideration for the fact that some people work different shifts... And many people are NOT

Can't tell you how tempted I am to have a garden party with full blast music playing til 11pm - 3 hours after their kids go to bed, and an hour after they do - to wake the little fuckers up! Well, it suits them to wake me 2 hours before I want to get up! So what's good for the goose............. Wink

6.30 is ridiculous. I'm glad my neighbours aren't that daft.
And holding off small kids to a reasonable hour is just part of parenting

Try looking at it this way, the parents have set themselves up for a very long day with excited children who will no doubt be cranked up on chocolate. By 3o/c this afternoon they will be be worn out and paying for beginning the Easter fun so early, with hours of more fun and games to get through before bedtime.

Then snigger
