Easter egg hunt at 6.30am

Both the parents outside with the kids, several kids running around screaming at 6.30am. Do people have no shame?

I think that's rude and selfish at any time of year. I used to keep my children at a considerate volume, inside the house until at least nine at weekends and even then if they started shouting or screaming in the garden I'd tell them to come in. Remind them not everyone is awake.
The parents could of easily put a film on, or had an inside egg hunt.

Revoltingpheasants · 05/04/2026 07:06

That’s really early. I guess it’s difficult as it’s their garden and probably been up hours <eyes DD>

I’ve been finding my kids a pain with the garden since the clocks went forward; it’s nigh on impossible to get them in from it at evening time. Even when they are turning blue 🙄

Raccoonswillonedayrevolt · 05/04/2026 07:06

Take this event in a positive light: all kids want to run around screaming outside at 6.30 am (or whenever they wake up) every single day of the year. And parents manage to wrangle them the other 364 times.
Enjoy your day!

I’ll take this over the people singing at the top of their voices at 2:45 this morning.

Sorry you win!

6.30am on Sunday? I wouldn't welcome the sound of unicorns dancing with fairies let alone screaming children

I was being sarcastic 🙃

Weird comment.

No it’s humour.

Doesn’t the sound of children’s laughter fill you with joy on this beautiful spring morning?!

Even if it woke you up?

I guess if it woke me up then I’d be pissed off but the NDN baby daughter woke me up crying at 6am so that’s why I’m up!

It’s once a year, lighten up

Just don't do it outside at 6.30am. Would you be fine to do one at that time? No worries about that at all?

It’s incredibly inconsiderate and entitled. Do you know these people, are they usually so anti-social?

Yes they let their dog bark all hours too.

Obnoxious behaviour from the parents.

Caspianberg · 05/04/2026 06:52

I think it’s fine.
Its a bit of fun for 5 mins for kids
It’s only once a year.

But it will have risked waking up like 15 people on a Sunday? How is that fine?

OP posts:
auserna · 05/04/2026 06:53

Cue all the virtue-signalling early risers...

Yes, highly inconsiderate. There's absolutely no need for an Easter egg hunt to be at 6.30 in the morning.

ZenNudist · 05/04/2026 06:53

I guess they peaked early. The only way is down!

AliceAbsolum · 05/04/2026 06:52

If it was me I'd be feeling so guilty and anxious if I was outside with them for some reason. Do people not feel like that? Or ignore the emotion? Or maybe the children wanted to do it at 6.30am and they have no boundaries.

IlovePhilMitchell · 05/04/2026 06:52

YANBU, I’m sat here waiting for my 5 year old to wake up and run in, his hunt is set up for first thing this morning indoors.

Outside hunts should be later on at a reasonable time.
