Easter eggs talking to me

I bought 2 easter eggs for relatives today. I left them in the car so I wouldn't be tempted (I have no willpower when it comes to chocolate) but they are talking to me.

I've given up chocolate for Lent (despite atheism) and reached a point in succeeding where I have to continue out of sheer bloody mindedness, so they're safe from me this year.

DP, on the other hand, has had to replace the creme eggs and caramel eggs many times this year. Thankfully he has, otherwise he'd be in big trouble: they're my favourite and I have waited a long time for them this year!

MarxistMags · 01/04/2026 18:52

They are saying, "Don't do it ! Resist, resist......"

BunnyLake · 01/04/2026 18:49

They’re not just talking they are loudly demanding my attention! I have eaten three eggs since last week! I think I’m comfort eating as I became an empty nester last year. I’m planning on buying another couple tomorrow. They have become my happy place, sitting on the sofa watching a kdrama and eating an egg 😳 It’s weird because I could easily leave them alone when the kids were here. I don’t even know when Easter is.

RantyRant3555 · 01/04/2026 18:32

There’s something wrong to be said about giving up chocolate during lent. Unfortunately this year it’s not religious but a diet so not sure what I’ll do at Easter 😭

itsmeits · 01/04/2026 18:27

Hahaha 😆 😂 😆 😂

I have replaced the children eggs twice
I have eaten mine, DP his 😅
This year they have been so talkative

Just gone to sneak a mini mini kit kat one to ease the voices and found some &@#_#>#&#^@<##^^ has eaten all the mini eggs for the egg hunt 😱I am not guilty of this

DilemmaDelilah · 01/04/2026 18:24

The tubes of smarties I used to get for Christmas stocking used to nag me ALL THE TIME!

However the Easter eggs have been sitting on a bookshelf for weeks now and they are still intact. I have asked DH not to get me one this year, so I will be entirely chocolateless.

Popcornsandwich · 01/04/2026 18:21

Last year I had to replace my dc eggs five times

ffsnewusername · 01/04/2026 18:20

Eat them.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 01/04/2026 18:20

I know this is very po faced/ holier than thou, but I can never understand why people who are chocoholics don’t just buy themselves an Easter egg too! Or a sufficient amount that they can leave their children’s alone.

Obviously you can’t eat your children’s Easter eggs!

Bettercallsalli · 01/04/2026 18:09

I've sneaked the little box of Lindt truffles out of the Egg box and glued it back shut.
Ooooops

verabarbleen · 01/04/2026 18:06

my husband and I have eaten all the egg we have bought apart from the dairy free ones and now I have to buy them all again 😂

Cant be bothered to go to the shop! Already been once today to buy said easter eggs

Go tomorrow.... to replace the one you're about to eat!

FeliciaFancybottom · 01/04/2026 18:04

Put in earplugs, drive your car to another city, get the train back home, you won't be able to hear them if they're miles away.

JaneGrint · 01/04/2026 18:00

Are they safe in the car boot? If it’s too sunny they might melt.

I am on my second 1kg bag of mini-eggs. The big Easter eggs are safe with me. Oh yes.

Steal boast - mini-eggs are about £1m/kilo this year.

dizzydizzydizzy · 01/04/2026 17:53

Assert your dominance with those pesky eggs!

Springtime54 · 01/04/2026 17:49

TheBeaTgoeson1 · 01/04/2026 16:55

Can’t you just buy yourself one?

I have one in the cupboard for DS that's haunting my dreams. It's like Edgar Allan Poe did an easter special.

CoolPlayer · 01/04/2026 17:40

I’ve already eat one I’d got for someone else so I’m not the person to help you with this 🤣

outerspacepotato · 01/04/2026 17:38

Earplugs.

TMFF · 01/04/2026 17:37

Most Easter eggs are just rugby ball shaped disappointments nowadays.

vixen996 · 01/04/2026 17:36

Talk back and tell them to bugger off
