I have a mum friend and children go to same nursery. Meet up a few times outside, always chatting on what's app.

I messaged to say HB to her child and was told that she's having a birthday party with X,y and z. So I asked if my child was invited - and it was no.

I was also told that Ive got an invite to a whole nursery party so I've got that instead.

Ainu?

Well since when is it supposed to be classified information?

Surely to goodness you're not so entitled that you think your child should be invited to everything?

I think it's weird.

But it's just weird?

Since when do we go around and have parties, and tell people who aren't invited about those parties?

It's precisely because she is a grown adult that she told you.

How could she have known you couldn't handle that info??

I kinda feel it weird a grown adult tells you they are having a party and you aren't invited. I didn't ask for that information. Just wished him happy birthday based on a status.

So I feel it a bit of a weird conversation.

To then say "well you are going to another party" kinda also weird.

I don’t understand the issue / problem?

Take your child to the party she is invited to. say thank you, the end?

Go to the party you haven't been invited to, throw in a grenade and shoot the first person who runs out.

MyNextDoorNeighbourVotesReform · 27/03/2026 18:59

Go to the party your child has been invited to 🙄

What do you mean?
If your child would enjoy the party, accept politely.

RhaenysRocks · 27/03/2026 18:59

Why would you need to do anything? It doesnt sound like your life long friends or anything. What's the issue?

Toottooot · 27/03/2026 18:57

Nothing. Attend the party your child is invited to? 🤷🏻‍♀️
