AIBU for noticing and comparing the athletes’ *parts* while watching athletics on the BBC? (Lighthearted, please dont come for me, its a friday)

And yes, I'd also heavily judge a man for doing the same to the female athletes 🤷‍♀️

Just because you don’t approve, that doesn’t mean it isn’t lighthearted. Of course you’re entitled to be offended or disgusted, but that doesn’t make the intent behind it one of anything but levity.

Pretty normal for people to notice attractive bodies. I wouldn’t judge men for doing it either. Nobody can actually help finding someone attractive. We’re all biologically predisposed to be sexually attracted to other human beings’ physical characteristics.

Looking at people on the telly has zero impact on anyone else. It doesn’t affect the people on screen and it doesn’t affect anyone else in the room, of all you’re doing is looking and thinking.

If people are sitting there giving their partner a running commentary on the athletes’ bodies, or tagging the athletes on social media with gross comments, or generally making a big show of it, that’s different. But looking and silently thinking “Phwoaaarrr” to oneself, whether you’re a woman or a man, is completely harmless and without consequence.
