Same thing happened to my aunt in Portugal. It caused a lot of ill-feeling in the complex where she lived and the value of their properties plummeted.

Bet they’d still vote reform too!

My dad lived in spain and actually became a resident. English people in his complex voted brexit then couldn't understand why the 90 limit applied to them. They thought Spain would make an exception for them, even wrote to the complex management to help them to stay. Hilarious and frightening at the same time.

It’s exactly the same as all the maga idiots. Happy to fund a war in Iran with their taxes costing 3 billion a day, despite 65000 US citizens dying every year because they can’t afford healthcare. They voted against Obama Care - the very people who need it the most.
My mother voted for Brexit and is still glad she did. Is in complete denial that it’s been a disaster.

I might buy a dingy and head to France

He specifically said that he didn't realise Brexit would mean that he couldn't just move to Spain, and that he regretted his vote. But he was a big fan of Farage's latest grift nonetheless.

He was an idiot, and I won't be told these people are sympathetic, marginalised folk anymore. They're selfish, stupid, gullible fools, and Farage has even less respect for them than I do.

Ugh, I really hope we as a country don't start to model ourselves on Trump's ways and values, that really would be embarrassing.

I dont think we will. The Trump effect is damaging the Right across western democracies and shows no sign of letting up.

Anyway, Reform have neither the infrastructure, candidates or discipline to win the next GE. Nigel will sell them out to the Tories. Again.🙄

You’re entitled to your opinion on Farage being a grifter, but the leader of the Greens is an ex tit whisperer so I’m not sure that party is a great suggestion to stop the ‘tomfoolery’

I’m a hypnotherapist and the man who currently leads the Greens is an absolute embarrassment to the world of hypnotherapy. Although I can see him trying to use conversational hypnosis all the time. He’s a manipulator. I would say out of all our politicians he has the most in common with leaders like Hitler in his style and content.

It's a bit weird, admitted I missed your original post but the last few I haven't seen anything deletion worthy.

Lol I think they just don't like you.

HA! Happy to accept that, but they're letting me post up on here and other threads so long as I don't mention numbers. I think I have my answer now though.

RobinInTheCrabApple · 15/03/2026 20:00

Christ, this is tortuous.

I was trying to reply to @clarinova. Thanks for that. I wasn't saying anything that hasn't been reported in multiple outlets including the Times. I didn't think it was that controversial.

RobinInTheCrabApple · 15/03/2026 19:58

Thanks @clarinova nothing that hasn't been reported widely in multiple outlets including The Times. Tice on Tax, Kent Council on selling work by British artists and Farage's investment in bitcoin.

Clavinova · 15/03/2026 19:56

RobinInTheCrabApple · 15/03/2026 19:46

Is it because I mentioned Richard Tice, Farage or Kent Council?

I didn't see your posts, but did you post anything that might be considered libellous regarding tax affairs? That was mentioned on the radio today (Tice).

Yes I did! How peculiar. Why don't they like currency?

I think it is an automatic spam filter.

The only people who argue Reform is not far right are reform supporters. People need to own their views.

@wiffin Thats not factually correct, the only people who have labelled them as far right are some commentators for the guardian, the independent and hope not hate..the same people who also claim men can grow a cervix.

Reform MP Richard Tice has dodged tax to the tune of £600k.
Farage is investing over £200k in Kwasi Kwarteng’s bitcoin firm.
Kent's Reform Council is selling off public owned art work by British artists.

These people do not have the country's best interests at heart.

(1) You can't turn them away anyway because they are travelling to the UK across the English channel.

(2) Some migrants could have been turned away before. The UK never imposed the toughest rules on immigration that were permissible under the EU. That's because Conservative politicians, on first name-terms with wealthy business owners, did not want to restrict immigration and upset business owners.

(3) Note that the UK has been moving towards a Danish model to impose tough immigration restrictions, and there is a massive outcry because apparently the Danish model is too punishing towards migrants and too strict... and yet, it seems to have completely flown over your head, and everyone else's heads, that Denmark is a country in the EU... ... ...

it seems to have completely flown over your head, and everyone else's heads, that Denmark is a country in the EU

From what I understand, Denmark has a unique opt-out on justice and home affairs - more rigid/comprehensive than the opt-out we had as a member of the EU;

Denmark has opted out of EU cooperation on justice and home affairs. This means that Denmark is not bound by EU laws concerning issues such border control, immigration policies, civil and criminal law and police cooperation, and Denmark does not have the right to vote on these issues in the Council.
