Carol Vorderman has culled her lovers from five down to three.

Carol Vorderman has had to slash the number of lovers she has down from five to three, admitting: “Times are hard.”
She now only has a trio of three long-term “special” male friends on the go after previously enjoying the attention of five.
The maths whiz has always been open about loving her friends with benefits.

So...
Is it reasonable for a woman of a certain age to have multiple lovers....not to mention the energy.

Is it unreasonable, immoral, and just plain tacky?

And where does she find them because as a woman of a similar age, the pickings out there are very very slim

Well she's just freed up a couple

That's exactly what she said. The article is there in the OP.

I c&p the entire article and posted it upthread. If you can find where she talks of going from 5 lovers to 3 you're doing better than me.

Monolithique · 08/03/2026 00:59

Don't you mean the attentions of five.. ?

What a mean-spirited thread, the only purpose of which is to sneer at another woman. Have you nothing better to do OP? Carol does. Good for Carol.

If Carol Vorderman gives interviews about her sex life, I think she may think it was quite mean spirited if people ignored what she was saying.

Obviously people are interested, else this thread would not be 6 pages long.

She didn't.

The piece linked says absolutely nothing about it.

Not that anyone cares.

I saw her on a programme the other day. Her face is a mess. Clothes always too tight.

Lavenderandbrown · 08/03/2026 00:27

@baroqueandblue it is kinda embarrassing to me now the nightgown business and I would only admit here anonymously! I googled Miss Beryl but didn’t find a nightgown connection. I think the nightgown represented a “I don’t really care” feeling I had at the time and they were so pretty I just loved wearing them. It was a bit of an exhibitionist behavior. Whenever I hear of something a bit wild or unexpected someone recently divorced has done I always think…oh yes the feeling of experimenting and being free.

justasking111 · 08/03/2026 00:20

She's 65 with rheumatoid arthritis. I'm not surprised she's in too much pain for five men

She's always been a bit of a conundrum. She didn't do very well in her degree but somehow ended up with this egghead reputation.

I don't know that I'd want to talk about it if I was having such an out there/exciting sex life.

A Countdown conundrum?

3 sounds about right. Before my second marriage I had 3 on the go…late 40s and have a long time single friend also having 3 on the go at the same time . One lived out of town and 2 local. It was consensual but they didn’t know about each other as I wasnt dating anyone exclusively. I used to kiss them goodbye outside by their car in my long lacy vintage nightgowns. Neighbor was always going to work about that time and he would wave Goodmorning😂. Most people looking at me (conservative appearance) wouldn’t think this was true but it was enjoyable and fun and I felt pretty free after a pretty shit marriage. Women are sexual beings across the lifespan and some more than others.

of course I don’t talk about it with anyone

Are you Beryl Reid?

I dont like her but not about this.
Its fine if all are in agreement.
Why on earth would it be 'immoral'?

It’s all a bit Jay from The Inbetweeners, I’m not sure I believe it tbh.

I’m curious, those saying it is tacky for her to say how many sexual partners she has - would you say the same if it was a man saying it?!

I think it’s tacky whoever is saying it.

The only people who need to know about someone’s sex life are those directly participating and any relevant medical professionals.

WirelessInternet · 07/03/2026 23:23

I think Carol is great, but even if I didn’t, she’d be free to do what she likes as long as nobody is getting hurt.

Any other opinion is irrelevant and I think it’s a shame there’s so much very thinly veiled jealousy on this thread. And people think men are the misogynistic ones.

LorenzoCalzone · 07/03/2026 23:03

I really like her. She defies expectations.

TempestTost · 07/03/2026 22:53

NovemberMorn · 07/03/2026 18:24

I agree. Talking amongst your female friends I could accept, announcing it publicly is tacky.
However, maybe it could reassure other women in their 60's that it's OK to sleep with as many men as they like. I do believe there is still a stigma attached to women who sleep around, but I doubt that's the reason she is talking so openly.

I'm not sure that is so unusual, seniors is demographic that has very high rates of STIs.

Specialagentblond · 07/03/2026 22:50

Very sensible Carol

brendaschmenda · 07/03/2026 22:06

The article mentioned absolutely nothing about any lovers, let alone 5 of them, and nothing about times
being hard.

Donr understand any of this. The headline bears no resemblance to what has actually had been written in the article.

It's a very good example of how misinformation is spread, isnt it?

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 07/03/2026 22:13

I think it’s fine. She had a bit of a second wind in life, I think. Put down her whiteboard marker, had a restyle, and got out there. She’s not tied down, and doesn’t want to be. She is very much in control which is the safest place to be.

I think a lot of women who have had an unfulfilling marriage will be looking at her and planning a more exciting future.

B1anche · 07/03/2026 22:07

daisychain01 · 07/03/2026 20:08

Well if it's good enough for the French, where the phrase originates from (Une femme d'un certain age = a middle-aged woman). it's good enough for us!

I absolutely love Carol Vordeman, she's intelligent, good company and full of confidence.

I bet they're queueing up at her door, and we have no way of knowing what she gets up to, they could be sitting there holding hands watching Netflix with a cup of cocoa. It doesn't matter!

Edited

It's patronising in any language.

I’m too lazy to read the article in the link but what does that mean “times are hard”? Why does times being hard mean you have to give 2 of your lovers the elbow? Am I just very naive?

IberianLynx · 07/03/2026 21:53

How old are the 3/5 lovers? I wonder if she has got some older for the experience and some younger that can perform multiple times. I personally would not be up for having 5 blokes on rotation and I would only ever be happy in a monogamous relationship. But if she/they are happy then that’s up to them.

ThatJadeLion · 07/03/2026 21:52

I don't believe her for a second. It keeps her in the press.
