Carol Vorderman has culled her lovers from five down to three.

Carol Vorderman has had to slash the number of lovers she has down from five to three, admitting: “Times are hard.”
She now only has a trio of three long-term “special” male friends on the go after previously enjoying the attention of five.
The maths whiz has always been open about loving her friends with benefits.

So...
Is it reasonable for a woman of a certain age to have multiple lovers....not to mention the energy.

Is it unreasonable, immoral, and just plain tacky?

Sounds great if you want that and everyone are willing partners.

JustAnotherWhinger · 07/03/2026 19:06

Didn’t she originally speak about it as someone was going to sell the story?

if each time she does a story it stops a pissed off ex selling one for cash I wouldn’t blame her

Having them is fine.
Talking about them in public is oh so very tacky!

Exactly.

tobee · 07/03/2026 19:06

I’m too lazy to read the article in the link but what does that mean “times are hard”? Why does times being hard mean you have to give 2 of your lovers the elbow? Am I just very naive?

I agree. Talking amongst your female friends I could accept, announcing it publicly is tacky.
However, maybe it could reassure other women in their 60's that it's OK to sleep with as many men as they like. I do believe there is still a stigma attached to women who sleep around, but I doubt that's the reason she is talking so openly.

Oh you think she's some sort of public service?

Women in their 60s dont need 'reassurance' to do something they want to do. How patronising.

Yasyasyas · 07/03/2026 19:05

I think it's great. Good for her!

I expect this will become the new normal soon enough but it's really nobody else's business.

likelysuspect · 07/03/2026 19:04

Im just waiting for the male equivalent to make the news with cries of 'go you' and good for him.

Shut up Carol

Goinggonegone · 07/03/2026 19:03

The Daily Star is not a reputable news source...

MayasJamas · 07/03/2026 19:00

I think it’s great she talks about it. The sexuality and desirability of ‘women of a certain age’ is simply erased in our misogynistic culture. Although her choices wouldn’t be my choices - I’m too bloody knackered! - I think it’s positive for her to be an older woman embracing her sexuality and being vocal about it.

Createausername1970 · 07/03/2026 18:55

I am curious about the blokes. Do they mind being part of a harem?

Good luck to her, nothing wrong with having multiple partners if all are happy about it, but it's a bit tacky to talk about it in the media.

PeopleLikeColdplayYouCantTrustPeopleJez · 07/03/2026 18:55

She can have all the “special friends” <boak> she likes. But she bangs on (excuse the pun) about it and it’s a little bit cringe.

NovemberMorn · 07/03/2026 18:54

Makemydaypunk · 07/03/2026 18:49

I don’t believe she had five men on the go in the first place, she is just desperate to be seen as desirable and sexy, she will say anything for attention.

She used to seem quite the opposite of the femme fatale she likes to be seen as now, when she started on TV's Countdown.
Who would have thought that 40 odd years later she would be known for far more raunchy stuff?

I think shes great

The OP of the GUM clinic AMA said HIV is increasing in middle aged women because of liberation and multiple partners. I hope Carol is being careful!

TwistedWonder · 07/03/2026 18:40

And where does she find them because as a woman of a similar age, the pickings out there are very very slim

She is a 'celeb'...just as some women consider it a notch on their belt to sleep with well known males, I'm sure some men think the same re females..

Nope.

You mentioned nothing at all about bragging in your OP...

Whatever....I am mentioning it now.

Most women 'of a certain age', have learned to hold their own council.

Yes, I do think it's tacky, especially for a woman her age to be bragging...because that's how it comes across to me.

Nope.

GardenGaff · 07/03/2026 18:37

It’s all a bit Jay from The Inbetweeners, I’m not sure I believe it tbh.

Blocksfruity · 07/03/2026 18:35

Why is everyone assuming it's the truth? She's in showbiz, press is money and telling tall tales to stay relevant is part of the job.

NovemberMorn · 07/03/2026 18:35

DameOfThrones · 07/03/2026 18:30

What does being 'of a certain age' have to do with it?

Are you implying you think it's tacky but it would be less so if she was younger?

If not, I'm not sure what you're saying?

Tbh I think there's a stigma attached to anyone who sleeps around, male of female largely because of STD risk.

Nothing wrong with lots of consensual sex. Telling everyone about it so publicly is very, very tacky whether you are male or female.

Edit: I've just read the article and no where can I see it mentions FWBs.
Also poor Carol has been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, hence the stepping back news so she has much utmost sympathy.
