To ask for your ideas to take petty revenges on an uninvited guest?

Because of boring and longwinded reasons, I can't currently prevent this person from coming to stay with me whenever they like. But I don't have to treat them like a guest, because guests are invited. I have plans in place to renounce this obviously terrible arrangement as soon as possible, but in the meantime I am relieving my frustrations by plotting small, petty revenge's that aren't unreasonable.

(They have a lovey home of their own, and don't really want to stay here. They are choosing to be here specifically because they know I don't want them and to make the point that they still can. It's silly and childish and I didn't choose it. They did, and are also deliberately prolonging the situation. There's nothing to do but laugh about it, and this is intended to be in jest. Although I can't promise I won't put one or two into practice if there are good suggestions.....)

Move their things every time they put something down. Cup of tea, slippers, toothbrush, keys, handbag, it gets moved to the other side of the room, inside the cupboard, onto the mantlepiece, into the hallway, into a trinket box, etc.

Nothing will ever be where they left it and they will forever be losing and looking for things and being late and getting cross.

It is completely deniable and if something is obvious you can claim to think you were being helpful and ‘tidying up for them’, leaving it where they’ll think to look, etc. Their inability to find their keys in the fruit-bowl will lead you to helpfully put them into their waterproof coat pocket the next time you see them ‘lying around on the sideboard at risk of getting lost”.

Sometimes you could ‘find’ things for them, which will necessitate thanks. Very satisfying.

Yabu because it's ridiculous that you won't give the full info on the situation.

Wind yer neck in! She's under no obligation to share private information with strangers on the internet. Same for you @daisychain01

Is this an adult stepchild?

Change the name of your WiFi to FuckOffHomeSally.

I don’t like petty revenge threads but this idea is funny

UnderATree · 06/03/2026 14:06

Lentils, chick peas and brussel sprouts for dinner, create such a fug of flatulence they won’t come back. Oh pardon me!

have sex loudly so they are very uncomfortable.

Snap! 🤣🤣

Angelchick1971 · 06/03/2026 14:04

Have very loud sex! (Even on your own lol 😆)

Oh but I reeeeeeallly want the long back story now. Pretty please???

Otherwise - sand in the bed? Just a little bit that can't be seen.

Radiator turned off in bedroom when it's cold. Or all heating in the house turned off, windows left open to make it freezing. Get yourself a heated gilet to wear secretly.

CurlewKate · 06/03/2026 14:00

Rise above it.

With a small brush paint some tiny red spots on the sheet or pillow case on their bed, then mention that you are itching and think there might be bed bugs in the house.

That's genius.

I'm guessing husband, separated but not yet divorced.

So you've described the situation in 6 words, and yet the OP can't give the facts because it's "long winded and boring".

Eufyon · 06/03/2026 14:00

Your partner has invited them?

Otherwise I genuinely can’t understand why anyone would be forced to host repeatedly an uninvited guest who they hate, and the guest hates them.

Smileysmoke · 06/03/2026 14:00

Yabu because it's ridiculous that you won't give the full info on the situation.

NutButterOnToast · 06/03/2026 13:59

Some of these are absolutely diabolical 😆😆😆😆

You can buy frozen mice and other tasty "treats" from pet stores

SuziQuinto · 06/03/2026 13:59

FreshInks · 06/03/2026 13:28

Why can't you prevent them from coming to stay?

Yes, that would be the most logical solution

LoseAllOfYourMoney · 06/03/2026 13:59

Can you stay with a friend or family member until this person gets bored of trying to piss you off? This would annoy them more than anything else as they’re only staying with you to get at you in some weird way.

Smileysmoke · 06/03/2026 13:58

NoahDia · 06/03/2026 13:24

Who owns or rents the house?

If it's you then they are your guest.

And this thread is ridiculous.

Ditto. Op should just change the locks if it's her house.

daisychain01 · 06/03/2026 13:58

Because of boring and longwinded reasons, I can't currently prevent this person from coming to stay with me whenever they like.

What do they do, break into your house?

I can't imagine having to play childish pranks on someone instead of telling them it isn't convenient for them to stay,

Throwmoneyatit · 06/03/2026 13:58

Remove cables. HDMI to TVs, Alexa, Kettle etc.
Remove batteries out of TV remote.
Take bulbs out of lights.
Run out of shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/soap.
Take all nice food to a friends to keep. Order every meal for yourself through Deliveroo.

Good luck 😆

Foundress · 06/03/2026 13:58

I want to know who is coming to stay with you @guestsareinvited because my suggestions for the guest will depend on who they are.

jeaux90 · 06/03/2026 13:56

I would never be there when they are, I would remove all basic food items like milk, butter and bread. I would rather sleep in my car than have unwanted “guests”

LindorDoubleChoc · 06/03/2026 13:56

Yabu. Ask in Chat or Relationships.

Dollymylove · 06/03/2026 13:55

Just put us out of our misery and tell us who owns the dwelling and why are they ripping up whenever they feel like it and expect to be waited on?

CustardySergeant · 06/03/2026 13:55

MatildaTheCat · 06/03/2026 13:50

A dead mouse concealed very very well in their bedroom. Maybe in a small bag taped to the underside of the bed or another piece of furniture.

Where do you think she is going to obtain a dead mouse? RodentsRUs?
