I am fairly sure that for each person incorrectly reported dead, there will be several as yet unnoticed or unidentified or uncounted.

If it's real and in newspapers then do please provide showing credible evidence that it's real instead of a link to TikTok videos.

And feel free to answer the question: What is the number of deaths that's acceptable to you?

There are names in the book in auschwitz of people who didn’t die there. My DS’ partner is Jewish and her great grandparents are in there, except they weren’t killed.

When there are large numbers involved, and if you were in the right place at the wrong time it is inevitable that misreporting will happen.

There were in fact tens of thousands of misreported deaths in Auschwitz, not because they were fake but because it was always going to happen that way.

Similarly there will be deaths of people reported in 9/11, the tsunami, any major world event.

That doesn’t mean those events didn’t happen or that those deaths were faked.

But it does provide ammunition for conspiracy halfwits who believe in the power of TikTok, most of which is manned by AI and will tell you whatever you want to see.

Look, do you expect perfect counting, reporting and admin during a period of chaos and confusion.? Do you expect things to be neat and tidy and all true or all false?

The reports of people being reported dead when they are not, are most probably true but what point are you making and what conclusion are you drawing from this?

You have chosen confrontational language saying the deaths were 'faked'. Yes, sometimes people tell lies for nepharious reasons, but sometimes they make honest mistakes. These individual stories could be either of these things.

On their own, or even if a few more similar stories come out, what they are not is proof that the Iran government did not murder massive numbers of its own citizens.

Frankly, I'd be surprised if every single desth reported was true in a time of confusion, confrontation and chaos.

If you 'get your phone out and Google' stuff, you will find literally everything can be 'proved'. It will 'prove' the earth is flat and 'prove' the earth is round. One is clearly ridiculous but there's plenty of flat earthers around that believe and so the money driven scammers will meet the vulnerable/idiots' needs by providing the 'proof' for them to' lap up.

Don't believe everything you read, particularly on obscure websites or ones where the content is user created (AKA unverified) and where clicks make money. Your life would be much happier if you step away from the Internet.

I think I trust the guardian article more, they use proper news gathering techniques. Individual stories can be wrong eg someone wrongly reported as killed but on a larger level the mainstream news is correct

And in one of those hands there is the high probability that some victims were misidentified. So, this woman didn’t die. Doesn’t mean they didn’t kill the rest of the 30,000 or another woman they thought was this one?

I lose interest when ‘TikTok’ is used in any sentence, let alone one purported to be reporting ‘news’.

I’ve read a few interesting articles about how we now live in a “post truth society” If you blur the line between fact, opinion and misinformation then power (to create a narrative) goes to those who hsve the wealth or the charisma to create spectacle.

It does sound a bit Orwellian but I think we see time and again how governments attempt to bullshit their way through situations with dubious interpretations of the truth just by lying and hoping it sticks long enough for the news cycle to move on.

It's not even a fake death - just looks like a case of mistaken identity by the news channel reporting it.

Even if the number isn’t right, it’s not as though 30,000 was fake!
