There are other ways to deal with terrorism. We didn't stop IRA terrorism by air raiding Belfast and bombing catholic schools.

Edited

Pakistan has been exporting terrorism for decades. So has S Arabia. Sheltering some of the worst terrorists. No one suggests bombing them ( rightly so as the collateral damage would be awful).

Even if those countries export terrorism?

I haven't noticed Iran exporting Terrorism to the USA?

Shall we bomb Russia?

We cannot control a country of 90m people, many of whom will now come to Europe & cross the channel on boats.....

Iran will descend into civil war & even more terrorism, more refugees, more suffering.

Trump has created another even worse Terrorist state.

Quite. Some people seem to have an entirely binary view on the world.

I can both believe that the Iranian regime is evil and at the same time believe the US president doesn't have the right to kill, be it people who disagree with immigration policies with this ICE Force or foreign leaders with his Air Force.

Absolutely. The black and white thinking on these geopolitical threads is also shocking. Some people seem to think that this is an American super hero movie where one side is 'good' and the other 'bad'.

Foggybottomblues · 04/03/2026 02:41

It is very sad but there is no evidence this was caused by US/. Israeli forces. The evidence points to a failed Iranian rocket launch.

What evidence would that be?
It's shocking how many posters are so desperate to excuse the US and Israelis, the same countries that are responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians already and pretend that there is some compelling evidence that this absolute tradgedy was an Iranian missile.
It's also shocking how little coverage and general outrage there has been because these were 'only' Iranian girls. If they were Israeli girls or Ukrainian girls or British, imagine how different the Western media coverage and the general public feeling would be.

Finding US and Israel evil doesn’t automatically mean approving of the Iranian regime..

Why was he in another country fighting in the first place? Those wars killed a million people. Life is indeed cheap to the US and the soldiers that fight in these illegal wars.

Because he was a soldier. He didn't start or choose the war but soldiers go where they are sent.

Fuck's sake.

How are you finding the Iranian regime?

Dragonflytamer · 04/03/2026 08:34

The American's military has stated they don't have a plan for the long term. Trump has no interest in positive regime change. Let's not forget it was Trump who withdraw American troops from Afghanistan leaving the country in the hands the Taliban.

RelativisticJet · 04/03/2026 08:34

Alexandra2001 · 04/03/2026 08:30

So you pick n chose what you believe?

There is no evidence 10s of 1000s were killed, large numbers yes & one killed is one too many.

The West interfering in other countries has no success, none at all, these countries need to be left to their own devices as much as possible, in Iran's case, the Nuclear element had to be addressed but not this mass bombing, all Trump has done is fuck up the worlds economy, including ours and will lead to many more deaths

Even if those countries export terrorism?

inamarina · 04/03/2026 08:28

How are you finding the Iranian regime?

Probably 'misunderstood' but somehow virtuous for fighting the evils of western dominance. And infantilized since they don't know better - but clearly it would be better for them to have the upper hand in that region, surely the world would be a better place

Everynamehasgone99 · 04/03/2026 08:32

Alexandra2001 · 04/03/2026 07:22

Whether you believe the US/Israelis or the Iranians, the fact is, had they not attacked Iran in the way they did and used a more targeted approach on their Nuclear ambitions..... all of these school children and their teachers would still be alive.
The US destroyed a hospital in Kabel, dont be so sure they don't make "mistakes, the Israelis would do it deliberately.

Trump now, is encouraging the Kurds and others to his "boots on the ground" this will end up like Afghanistan, Libya etc

A man with Dementia destroying lives.

So you pick n chose what you believe?

I don't know who bombed the girl's school. But I am interested in hearing from those who are sure the US/Israel did it, on WHY they think they would target a school.

Not whether it was a mistrike/bad intel/debris/Iran itself, or whatever.

But WHY would the US/Israel deliberately fire on a school full of little girls?

Do you think it was strategic? They are just evil? What would be the point?

The Guardian and Snopes reports linked above suggests it was a US/Israel missile. I don't think they targeted the school deliberately but they do not seem to have done the necessary surveillance to avoid it. Trump and Rubio have both shrugged their shoulders at people dying in war - they certainly do not seem to care about the human collateral.

What a thing to say to a mother whose son has been critically injured while doing his job. So much for empathy.

Agreed. Some people on here blow my mind with their ignorance. I do wonder how they get on day to day in life.

The utter lack of humanity by some on this thread about children in a country they don’t care about is despicable.

Shame on the fucking lot of them.

I don’t see a lack of humanity on this thread.

I do see an unwillingness to apportion blame illegitimately, though.

This is such a reductionist view of US / Israel - I bet UK and most of EU is also evil because of their colonial past? I guess you'd prefer Iran / China / Russia to be the world superpowers over Western countries because they are less evil?

But no you're right, US / Israel are pure evil because the world is such a simple place

um they are pretty evil to be fair, the governments I mean . The US is a joke at the moment , so corrupt and run by lunatics.. I’m not from the uk but I wouldn’t put the uk in the same league at all. I’d be afraid to visit the US at the moment , would rather go to China tbh

They were using machine guns and sniper fire on their own population, including kids.

What’s that got to do with this school bombing?
Who are they saving by bombing a school?

Funny all the people saying “sadly it was an Iranian missile” etc etc when all the news sources are saying the evidence points to the contrary . I don’t know who actually did this but some people just seem determined that Israel can do no wrong. It’s pathetic

As a general, armchair or otherwise, do you honestly believe that those protests weren't "helped along" by one or more of the combatant states. So if the protests reached boiling point do Israel /CIA/US bear some responsibility for what happened next.

And if you change "Iranians" for Persians and Arabs, apparently some countries cant get enough of killing 'em

It’s almost certain US/ Israel/ Saudi have supported the Iranian opposition. They have a long history of it. That opposition is genuine and widespread also.

And, yes, they’ll deserve a lot of the credit if this looks a success in hindsight and much responsibility if this goes badly.

Very few Iranians are Arabs, so am a bit confused by your comment, but sure:

In the past decade Tehran has been by far the biggest killer of Arabs too (Yemen and Syria mainly). Hundreds of thousands of them killed in proxy wars fueled by Iran.

This latest attack may well lead to chaos. But Tehran is a bloodthirsty aggressor that has been killing its own and other peoples by the hundreds of thousands for decades.

They are the serial abuser here. The question is whether and how they can be stopped without even worse consequences.
