Russian parts in Hezbollah drones. No reason why they wouldn’t sell to Iran also.

The war is proving very positive for Russia.
Great for them, not so great for Ukraine or Europe.

Did i name anyone? if you feel the post was a personal attack, then report it.... editing is allowed....

I think @Twiglets1 any engagement is now over, you clearly do not want any genuine dialogue, your last replies to me show that.

Editing is allowed for spelling not for change of what you are saying.

At least you realised it was wrong and changed it. That's good 👍

Interesting that your unedited post contains a personal attack on someone, then you took it out with editing.

You do realise personal attacks are wrong then.

Yes I did clock that.

Maybe @Alexandra2001 is unaware people can still read edited posts.

Also, wasn’t it Iran who supplied Russia with weapons (drones) and not the other way round?

Plenty of lows on this thread, some determined to defend the attacks in Iran, regardless of who dies, esp if there is any possibility of Israeli involvement.

Calling for the death of other posters is a new low even for this board.

I take it you didn’t post on the Brexit boards?!

I don’t believe in hell or hell rain so I don’t take this seriously as a threat.

Exactly.

Fancy not being able to debate something without wishing people to go to hell.

And others finding that ok ... hmm.

Once there is some sort of peace, the Iranians will rearm.

As will the Americans.,

Well as a fairly uninformed person reading that thread to start catching up on the situation, @Twiglets1 has done an excellent job persuading me of the exact opposite of everything she has said.

Do you attract people who would blow up your car? is it likely?

As we can now see, the Iranian regime is alive n kicking, threats abound, which will be carried out, oil over $100 a barrel, shipping shut down, more attacks on the West and in particular, Israeli targets worldwide.

Once there is some sort of peace, the Iranians will rearm.

Whoosh …

Alexandra2001 · 12/03/2026 18:31

Twiglets1 · 12/03/2026 14:51

Yes ... one could also argue that if someone blew up my car it would be ok because I could buy a better one.

One could argue, that Iran will rebuild with much a more modern military, as a result of these attacks, Russia and China will supply them, paid for by oil.

Plus given the on going and increasing attacks on oil facilities, the Iranians are not being degraded.

On the school, much of the information the US got, was given by the Israelis, who i genuinely believe, do not care about schools or children.

We know this from Gaza, Children, as best, were seen as collateral damage.

Re Pete Hegseth, I think this military article is revealing about his mindset and the dangers of that (my bold):

At a Pentagon briefing on March 2, 2026, War Secretary Pete Hegseth used blunt language about how the United States would fight, saying there would be “no stupid rules of engagement,” “no politically correct wars,” and “no nation-building quagmire.”

Those remarks became a flashpoint because rules of engagement, or ROE, are not “vibes” or slogans. They are a formal control system that ties tactical force decisions to strategy, law, and escalation management. Human Rights Watchresponded the same day by warning that dismissing ROE in public can read as minimizing legal constraints that exist to protect civilians and keep operations compliant with the laws of war.

The whole article is here.

I used to think that John Bolton, Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld were evil, but Hegseth is like them on steroids, he lacks any humanity.

Agreed. Hegseth is also dangerously lacking in intelligence and understanding of history, geo-politics, etc. - he should be nowhere near this level of power.

I find Stephen Miller an even more menacing threat than Hegseth.

ScrollingLeaves · 12/03/2026 13:34

BBC 1 hr ago.

Democrats in the US Senate have written to Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth demanding answers about the strike on a primary school in Iran that Iranian officials say killed 168 people, including about 110 children.………

I'm not a war analyst or involved in the war so have no idea if it's going "very well". However, it's clearly false to say that the US/Israel are achieving none of their goals or as some of you have argued, don't have any goals.

We won't know until the war is over who gained the most/lost the most out of it out of the US/Israel/Iran.

Iran do appear to be losing a lot if you look at their decimated navy, for example. But it's not over yet to do a reckoning.

They kill 160 children, many of whom are the children of IRGC members, would be one advantage (from their pov)

But the point is, no decent military would target a facility that is so close to a school, so why did they?

You're just way more cynical than me if you think the US would deliberately target children.

There is an ongoing military investigation into the incident and interim findings suggest that the US is responsible for the deadly Tomahawk missile strike on an Iranian school. The New York Times report into the preliminary finding are that:

The Feb. 28 strike on the Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school building was the result of a targeting mistake by the U.S. military, which was conducting strikes on an adjacent Iranian base of which the school building was formerly a part, the preliminary investigation found. Officers at U.S. Central Command created the target coordinates for the strike using outdated data provided by the Defense Intelligence Agency, people briefed on the investigation said.
Officials emphasized that the findings are preliminary and that there are important unanswered questions about why the outdated information had not been double checked.

I don't think there is a poster on here that doesn't think the Iranian regime isn't evil.

But it seems that you re one of the few posters who think this war is all going very well.
Its not, its a fucking disaster, that will make the GFC of 2008 look like a mere blip.

UAE, Bahrain, both attacked, depots and ships on fire... oil and gas supplies

Even releasing 400 million barrels of oil has made no difference, prices have gone up.

For the ordinary Iranian, they will now have an equal or even worse leader.

The only way out now, is to appease the Iranians, putting them in an even stronger position, plus higher oil prices help them and Russia, damaging Ukraine.

Trump has made possibly the worst decision ever made by a US President, all done because he couldn't stand up to Netanyahu, either that or he really is under the control of the Russians.

Not Iran, not at all.

It's not mutually exclusive nor does it change the truth of what I said.
