I don’t believe that two countries with the extraordinary powers of surveillance and intelligence they evidently have, do not know how that school got bombed.

ScrollingLeaves · 05/03/2026 18:27

Has either country admitted this yet?

? I don’t recall any concentration camps or genocide we Irish did to Jewish people 80yrs ago?

Confusion reigns with some posters or maybe they are just lacking in reading comprehension skills, who knows. 🙄

Do you feel the same about the Hamas attacks? Israel should prove it in court right otherwise who knows? I mean what's good for Palestinians is good for Israelis. You don't have an issue with due process so until Oct 7 is investigated impartially and goes to court we best not talk about it?

Yes and arrest warrant were issued for those leaders. It will be harder to prosecute them in court because the IDF killed them.

The 'actual real genocide' of Jewish people in Ireland 80 years ago?

No I mean the Guardian. They may be 'independent' but their editorial is manifestly anti Jewish. The Telegraph is not anti Jewish.
Edited to add: Abu Dhabi normalised relations with Israel in 2020.

Surely you mean the Telegraph? They’re the ones owned by Ahbu Dhabi
https://londontrends.uk/who-really-owns-the-guardian-truth-behind-the-uk-newspaper-s-ownership

Guardian is the only truly independent newspaper in the UK.

It’s pretty clear that it’s intended to lead you to that conclusion, relying as they are on a readership lacking in reading comprehension, but actually the wording is deliberately vague.

They are not stating for a fact that Israel or the US are responsible. If they did they would be wrong, as that isn’t something that has been verified.

The wording isn’t vague. You’re grasping at straws by quibbling over whether the word reported means speculation or substantiated journalistic reporting.

I am sure you weren’t saying Epstein was only reported to have raped underage girls, and that one would be lacking in reading comprehension to not understand this is just a vague speculation of what might have been.

No, it says it needs to investigated, my post clearly states this, It needs proving in a court of law,

The source used here, the UN have previously been criticised by the UN watch fog for anti semitism and that needs to be considered alongside the report.

if the accusations are proved in a court of law the court will rightly choose what happens as a consequence.

Do you generally have an issue with legal due process.

The drafters of the Geneva Convention took such matters seriously enough to include it, so it’s obviously not a “pathetic excuse” but a very real threat. If you have an issue with the drafting of international law, you might want to discuss the matter with those who make it (you might want to have more solid grounds than it’s a “pathetic excuse” though).

Can you honestly not see allowing aid trucks to flow through from countries hostile to your existence might be a bit of a worry on the security front???

Nope, Israel is an occupying power and as such has the following responsibilities in Gaza

As an occupying power in the Gaza Strip, Israel is obligated under international humanitarian law—specifically the Fourth Geneva Convention and Hague Regulations—to ensure the safety, welfare, and basic needs of the civilian population, including providing food, medical supplies, and maintaining public order. Israel must permit humanitarian relief, protect medical facilities, and is prohibited from using collective punishment, starvation as a weapon, or forcibly transferring civilians

The claim you make only stands if Palestine is free but it isn't and doesn't look like it is likely to be. So yes Israel is breaking international law by denying basic humanitarian needs. You can't have it both ways.

To stand trial isn't to be found guilty and the war crimes are alleged so it's a bit premature to assume he will be found guilty.

Agreed. Hopefully he will go and stand trial in the very near future so his innocence or guilt can be proven.

Nor does the International Criminal Court. That is whyy Netanyahu is wanted to stand trial for war crimes.

"Charges
Allegedly responsible for the war crimes of starvation as a method of warfare and of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts from at least 8 October 2023 until at least 20 May 2024."

Tell that to all the men and women and children who starved to death. That there was literally no safe way of getting supplies to them when they were blockaded off by Isreal . Sorry but I just don’t believe that

What I said can apply equally to the Israelis and Hamas, it's universal

Unfortunately, for Jewish people with at least 2,500 years of persecution and exile, it might be a little more difficult to forget especially when anti semitism is on the rise again

AntiRacistFella · 05/03/2026 12:25

Wellthisisdifficult · 05/03/2026 12:23

Ab so you’re saying that the people of Gaza should just give up any claim to the land and Hanas should promoted living in harmony with the Jewish people?

In other words 'we don't believe you'. I think Palestinians are used to it by now but it's still really grim to see the denial of systematic sexual violence on a website that is majority female.

Who gives a shit at this point? Harking back 80 years to call Ireland a shitty place. Meanwhile log onto the Internet and watch the Israeli army stand around watching a boy bleed to death, watch settlers gassing families in their homes at night leaving babies unable to breath, watch soldiers terrifying disabled people in the streets, watch their politicians say things like 'the children of Gaza have brought this upon themselves' and that 'every child, every baby in Gaza is the enemy' . But sure let's talk about Ireland 80 years ago, that's relevant to the conversation of Israel and the US killing yet more children as they sit at their desks trying to learn.

I mean a country with politicians who think that children can bring death and destruction on themselves who describe babies as the enemy, a country whose army is fresh from killing 20000 children would never blow up more right?

Yeah, how dare Jews 'harp on' about what happened 80 years ago!

This thread has been completely derailed from the off
This thread is surposed to be about young children killed in a school bombing

Have people no empathy to allow a single thread to talk about the loss of young lives at the school

Shame

Edited

Yeah but it wasn't. The original post wasn't about how sad and tragic it was. Nope, it placed blame and even intent without proof.

And then the israel haters piled on with 'oh israel loves killing children' usual bs

Hence derailment. To whcih you also contributed btw

But indeed regardless of provenance (or numbers) still a tragedy and my heart goes out to those families

nam3c4ang3 · 05/03/2026 11:07

It’s all just fucking depressing. But tik tok for news Op? Seriously?

It's not like they can use the UN or any humanitarian organisations for proof is it? The UN, the red cross, Drs without borders, Amnesty, B'Tselem, save the children, the world courts, you name it and it's been smeared as anti Israel or antisemitic. People would rather believe a government being ran by a man with warrants out for his arrest for war crimes and crimes against humanity that actually the Israeli government and the IDF are innocent and it's everyone else who is the problem. These are the times we live in.

FloralDeerPattern · 05/03/2026 11:11

Wellthisisdifficult · 05/03/2026 11:05

And that needs to be investigated more fully. Although the UN have a poor record in similar situations (see Bosnia).

I note that it states the “only conclusion” of such attacks is that they were state sanctioned - clearly this is not the case and other explanations are available, including rogue people in the Israel government.

The UN have been accused of political bias against Israel on several points re Gaza. UN Watch ( a Geneva based NGO which monitors the actions of the UN) has long pointed out the anti semitism in the UN (long proceeding the recent Gaza situation).

As far as I’m aware this has not been through the courts
