The Greens are worse than the far right. I don't understand how any right minded person could vote for them. Saying that, there are a lot of irrational, hateful people, and I am genuinely worried for the future with them in existence as a party.

At least one brave women has personally come forwards now to talk publicly about the sexual violence that she experienced from Hamas. There is no denying this. (This is on top of the video evidence that Hamas themselves posted of women having been assaulted. I won't talk about the details as it is extremely disturbing and triggering but it is freely available online)

You've just given your justification for the biggest slaughter of Jewish people since The Holocaust. Dreadful. Shame on you.

Yes. The women with bloodied joggers. Poor Shani Louk whose body was paraded on the back of a truck by those awful men, the woman taken with her babies......

The Bibas family. May their memory be a blessing 😥

Yours is possibly one of the most chilling posts I've had the misfortune to come across. Appalling. There is NO justification for the atrocities committed by Hamas on the 7th October.

@IcyPlumShakerI agree with @crunt,pls don’t excuse the brutal actions on October 7th by Hamas in this way.

Read it again. In fact, read all my posts again. I’ve consistently said that Hamas’ actions in Oct 7th were appalling.

But if any of you think that Israel are innocent victims in all this, then you are sadly deluded.

Whatever. I’m done here. Enjoy your evenings.

The kind of la-la land where Israel are seen as the victims in all this you mean?

Well that doesn’t really work does it? Lala land would indicate a non-reality. Or are you with that Green Party idiot who is going round denying women weren’t raped during Gaza’s Invasion of Israel on October 7? You do understand that Israel was responding to the massacre and Kidnap of its citizens from its own soil when Gazians invaded Israel on October 7 don’t you?

" The Israeli army has been killing innocent women and children in Gaza, in preparation for the glorious day when Trump gets to help Israel rebuild it as a new beach resort. It represents the continuation of a war started in 1948 which has led to Israel illegally occupying and annexing much of the territory initially given to Palestine. "

There you go, fixed it for you.

And yet, they continue to rise and rise in the polls. I used to be a Labour diehard, now I'm proud to be a Green member.

Plus they won Denton and Gorton - meaning they now have more MPs than ever before.

Perhaps people are happy with their ' extreme and divisive policies ' after all?

Winning a protest vote in an area where their decisive sectarian ideology can manipulate the constituency is a long long way from gaining National power, thankfully. But it has shon a light on them, which will be good in the long run.
This thread is about them denying crimes against women. All the other stuff about why things happened or who has the capacity for being more brutal, are not the issue for this thread.
The issue is the Green Party can create a false narrative to meet their ideological hatred for whoever they decide needs to be hated. Simple as that. And because it is an ideology, anyone questioning it deserves their hate too.

Don't @ me with comparing number of deaths.
I make no secret of my 'bias'. As a Jewish woman whose maternal family died in concentration camps I will always be a Zionist.
That doesn't make me complicit with the Right wing government but since 7 October 2023 it has rudely been brought home both to me and the majority of the Jewish diaspora that we need Israel now, more than ever. There will always be people (including Jews) who will deny us that homeland.

In an absolutely genuine attempt at healthy discussion, when you say "As a Jewish woman whose maternal family died in concentration camps I will always be a Zionist" what does Zionist mean to you? Is it just wanting a homeland in half of what was Palestine or do you agree with Israel expanding, taking over what was Palestine and moving into Iran/Irag/Syria?

And do you agree that it is currently Israel and not the Arab world who is saying no to a 2 state solution?

Absolutely genuine questions, I am genuinely interested in your point of view on these points.

HappyFace2025 · 05/03/2026 15:07

To me personally.

Okay, so I have just checked with MNHQ and the post they deleted was a summary of my earlier post (which is still there) which says "I am sure I speak for everyone when I say you would be 100 percent supported in simply showing support to Jewish people without the misunderstood politics and trashing of other cultures" The post which was deleted was taken out of context. MNHQ can't read the whole of every thread to see context. However, the person who reported my post probably had, which is slightly disappointing.

I would be grateful if you could stop aiming personal attacks in my direction. Thanks.

Is it these comments and this man (ex-Israeli intelligence chief), by any chance? - https://www.commondreams.org/news/is-israel-comitting-genocide. They’ve been reported in other sources too.

Before reading this article, I thought they could be evidence of genocidal intent which is the position shared as this article. I don’t think I have any firmer view than that for now, as I don’t know enough about the genocide argument either.

This is not great either. But I have found the magazine and the quote - the magazine is "Israel En Guerre Dossier Raids Nov - Dec 2025 and Jan 2026" and the extract is:

Le 9 octobre 2023, l'Etat hebreu impose un "siege complete" a l'enclave palestinienne. "Pas d'electricite, pas de nourriture, pas d'eau, pas de carburant [...]. Nous combattons des animaux humains et nous agissons en consequence", declare alor le ministre de la Defence israelien, Yoav Gallant

Which roughly translates as:

On October 9, 2023, the State of Israel imposed a "full siege" on the Palestinian enclave. “No electricity, no food, no water, no fuel [...]. We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly,” declared Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

And in relation to the bombardments:

Which roughly translates as:

In light of this earlier statement, one can legitimately question whether or not the “Dahiya Doctrine”, which advocates the use of disproportionate military force in reprisals against civilian areas, is being used [...] The Dahiya Doctrine has theorized since 2008 that the distinction between civilian and military targets should no longer be made in order to weaken the enemies of the State of Israel and deter them from launching future attacks. Destroying infrastructure (roads, administrative buildings, electrical installations, etc.) is the aim, but it forces the enemy to devote all its time to rebuilding rather than organizing and rearming. A security concept for which civilians pay a heavy price [...]

Fair point.

And my comment that "They don't want an Israeli state at all" was aimed more at the morons in this country chanting "From the river to the sea" rather than at Palestinians in general or those in Gaza.

The real tragedy in this is that the people of Gaza are being held hostage as a human shield by Hamas and I don't think it's Israel that is their problem.

I suspect that but for Hamas both Israel and the people of Gaza could reach a reasonable accommodation that they both could live with.

It's a pity that international institutions like the UN and the ICC and international law itself is seemingly incapable - or unwilling - to deal effectively with non-state terrorist groups and states that promote terror in other countries.

It's international failure to deal with those issues that causes countries like the US and Israel to seek their own solutions

I think that if you read up on the history from 1917 and the Balfour Agreement, and all the various wars where more and more land was taken, and the various unsuccessful negotiations, not to mention assassinations, including of UK government negotiators who were trying to negotiate peace, I think the only reasonable conclusion would be that no, Israel and Palestinians would not be working it out if it weren't for Hamas. See also that in the West Bank in recent months it looks like land has been taken from Palestinians and something like 26000 new homes have been approved/built for Israeli settlers - condemned by the international community but still going ahead.

Re the "from the river to the sea" a lot of people chanting that don't understand what it means, geographically, I don't think, and do in fact support a 2 state solution. That is my impression when I see them interviewed.

Goatsarebest · 05/03/2026 15:00

The Green Party saying they are not going to comment on individual members. Maybe it's time they did. They have no issue commenting on individual members of other Parties. They need to be rebranded as they bring disrepute to the sustainability and climate action cause and most of their reasonable policies are embedded in mainstream now anyway. Time they stopped hiding behind the 'green' mask and were exposed for the fanatical extremists they actually are. This is only the most recent of a long line of extreme ideologies they preach. If they are going to win seats they needed to be subject to scrutiny of their toxicity. They think they have a moral high ground but actually have the most extreme and diversive policies of any party with elected representatives. Their ideology has always been they are the only ones who are right and no room for any other views or tolerance of other perspectives. They need to be called out and binned to the corner of the cesspit they belong in.

And yet, they continue to rise and rise in the polls. I used to be a Labour diehard, now I'm proud to be a Green member.

Plus they won Denton and Gorton - meaning they now have more MPs than ever before.

Firry · 05/03/2026 15:48

I do think with all of the money the Labour Party is ploughing into Net Zero there isn’t much appetite for anything the greens might come up with even if they did decide to have environmentally conscious policies again. How much more money are we prepared to pay to save the planet when other countries aren’t sacrificing themselves in the same way?

Manxexile · 05/03/2026 15:35

Tikitaka20 · 04/03/2026 21:25

I don’t know enough about the situation to have a definite answer, but my understanding is that it is Hamas - rather than Palestinian citizens - who don’t want an Israeli state. I think it’s likely that Palestinian citizens will have a range of views on this, just like Israeli citizens would.

Fair point.
