I’ve just seen this clip of them at the Brits. How do they think that this looks good? I find it so sad that they both felt the need to do this to their faces, because the perception now is that women aren’t able to age?
This isn’t woman bashing women. People can do what they like, but this is grotesque.

I think if it was just grief then Kelly would look at herself and say “fuck, I’m too thin. I’m not going to wear a dress that shows my arms, shoulders, elbows and all of my bones sticking out. I’ll wear somethimg that covers me up a bit as it’s not a good look”.
The fact that she is ‘showing off’ this hugely concerning weight loss look is indicative of something terribly terribly wrong.
She looks older than Sharon frankly and concerningly she reminds me of how little Lena Zavaroni looked all those years ago.

I think you are right her thinking is distorted, likely around eating/eating disorder, this will be made worse by grief and MH stress of enduring public scrutiny.

I suspect she thinks she looks good and that people are just trying to drag her down, that's the distorted thinking of ED and depression.

It's also worth saying that the heart is a muscle and if you undereat this can get damaged, the only good thing is they have money so can get medical monitoring, but being very underweight gets dangerous quite quickly, also low blood pressure, all these things happen suddenly and even when you feel kind of ok and can be living somewhat of an active life.

I don't know how Ariana Grande has kept going so long with her frail frame on those press tours, although again, I suspect medical monitoring is used to prop her up, she of course has had a terrible trauma in the Manchester bombings and again looks very very troubled to me, lacking that sparkle in her skin and being, although her eyes always stand out, I've wondered what's going on there.

I can only think these two wanted to be there to honour Ozzie but it might be better to keep out of the way and don't worry about the fans and just rest and start the journey to recovery that Kelly at least clearly needs to go on- Sharon looks better now than she did 6 months ago and is on the way up I think.

scottishgirl69 · 01/03/2026 23:37

Cheryl Tweedy got the same scrutiny when she lost weight after her first marriage broke down and when her second husband's dad died. Yes of course famous people are always going to be talked about when their weight fluctuates but I think women get it far tougher at times.

There's an expectation that women should look a certain way -and if you are too thin or too big - then you'll be torn to bits by the press if you are famous. The daily mail have papped so many women over the years and torn them to pieces over how they look. Their size. Their cellulite.

As for people having work done - I personally never would but again it's down to how society thinks people should look.

Springspringspringagain · 01/03/2026 23:32

Having watched them both speak, I think they are deep in grief. They look very sad and weighed down and there's no spark or joy there whatsoever.

This is what my friend looked like when she had a nervous breakdown, very thin, very drawn. People who are already thin, and in Kelly's case had buccal fat removal, then look even worse in grief or suffering because they have nothing to lose, and likely the effect of the weight loss medications is still keeping them unable to eat.

The problem is that you can only run so long at this weight before your body starts to get damaged. You are probably ok for the first year or two, if you have enough energy to do simple things, but over time, your body uses up the muscles, bones become brittle, the lack of vitamins show in your skin and hair, the colon may not restart working properly/digestive issues, and just being up and about starts to become hard work. The very difficult thing to endure is that often people who recover from eating disorders suffer the consequences of those things for years afterwards; you don't just bounce back once you start eating well again.

I think they can become healthier again and I just hope that they do as time passes, and that they are getting good medical advice on how to keep as healthy as possible and cause as little damage as possible.

What about ‘obscene’ weight gain that is around us on every street? Or is that too uncomfortable to mention?

Not where I live it's not and it's not good to have that pressure to be incredibly thin especially as a teen girl!

I think a whole host of issues are influencing over eating, some of which unfortunately is an acceptance and tolerance of being overweight.

Much like people are being shouted down for pointing out how concerning it is to see what these women have done, you cannot point out how harmful it is to be overweight either.

Tolerance of being overweight? I've been bullied all my life for being overweight - from the age of 9 in school when I wasn't fat - just slightly bigger than my friends. When I look back at photos of me then I was tiny

I have had people abuse me in the street. Shouting out of car windows - when I was a size 14.

I put on weight during covid when the gyms closed and I was walking to the supermarket one day and this guy shouted "haw fatty" at me. Like something from a Kevin Bridges sketch

I've also been bigger at points in my life (for various reasons) and got nothing but abuse - mostly from complete strangers who don't know me

And even when I have been in very good shape and very fit -still abuse. Because I'm pear shaped and not a size ten.

Trust me -there's little tolerance to people who struggle with their weight from some quarters

I leave people be when it comes to their weight. Because you don't know why people gain weight. I'm only starting to tackle weight gain now that I put on a couple of years ago due to a triple leg fracture and a horrible bout of depression

(Folk just look at you and think fat. Greedy. They don't know why you're struggling).

Im a PT believe it or not and I understand why some people don't want to set foot in gyms when they are bigger - because I've been that person so many times

My mum is very slim and has struggled to put weight on her entire life.

Dweetfidilove · 01/03/2026 23:22

Oh my God! That looks more like illness than anything else. Has to be 😳.

Teaforthetotal · 01/03/2026 23:21

I hope Kelly is okay, I think she has a young family.

I didn't even recognise Kelly Osborne, she looks like Courtney Love's anorexic older sister. What the Hell has happened to our society? It's really gone down the crapper. I feel very depressed by the sort of women that are constantly in the public eye and the utterly horrendous example they are setting for our young girls. These people are so obviously deeply mentally ill and the cult of body modification and the worship of eternal youth is just sickening. These two are extreme examples but for me I hate the fact that just about every woman on or screens over the age of 40 has had a neck lift, even the ones that pretend to be ageing "naturally" that have a few lines and some silver highlights, and that everyone from the next door neighbour to the miscellaneous lady on the supermarket checkout has had their teeth capped in Turkey or their face lifted in Romania. The British used to be better than this, there is no substance to anyone any more, just a shiny, plastic facade over a bottomless pit of insecurity and self obsession.

Could not agree more

KTheGrey · 01/03/2026 23:19

Internet says Kelly O has Lyme disease. She certainly doesn’t look well. Hope she is getting better.

They stood there last night honouring their dead dad and husband. Yet all people can talk about is how they looked.

Yes unfortunately, its quite shocking. And you're right, obscene weight gain would be shocking too. Its not politically correct to mention that though.

How someone looks when something like this is presented, whether that be extreme surgery, weight gain or loss, alcohol or drug use, its shocking and will be discussed.

But weight is genetic too. It doesn’t matter that weight is only one part of beauty. My point was that Kelly has never been accepted. She’s never had the right face, never had the right body. It doesn’t matter if her genetics play a role in that, she’s never been allowed to exist comfortably in her own genetics. So how the hell can she be happy and know what looks “good”?

Totally agree. Bloody leave people alone. They can exist in whatever body shape they want to.

Weight is only one aspect of beauty i.e. being the right weight does not make you beautiful, isn't it genes?

I've no doubt they're grieving, of course they are but that's way more than grief and it is concerning that anyone thinks otherwise. That is to dismiss eating disorders, much as what happened in the 90s/00s when anorexia became a huge problem.

This sort of obscene weight loss should never be considered okay and it's really irresponsible to normalise it.

ManukaMoneyMaker · 01/03/2026 23:12

I hope they are doing ok. Their dad and family were their world. They also dealt with extreme social pressure to conform to beauty standards, especially Kelly. I wish them both peace, and think they did Ozzy proud, and that's the only comment I have on them.

Being massively overweight is health harming too. Go to your average city high street. People can barely walk they’re so overweight. Not sure whose influencing them…def not Kelly or Sharon.

I feel for Kelly- she’s had her weight and looks scrutinised since a young age, through being in the public eye (which she didn’t choose). I like Sharon but she’s set a very unhealthy example for Kelly, with weight loss surgery, all her plastic surgery etc.

i don’t think it’s any surprise at all that Kelly clearly has a deeply distorted body image.

KaleQueen · 01/03/2026 23:08

scottishgirl69 · 01/03/2026 23:05

Correct ❤️

KaleQueen · 01/03/2026 23:07

likelysuspect · 01/03/2026 22:51

Its not body shaming any more than looking at someone like Shane Mcgowan would have been 'alcohol shaming' or Pete Burns would have been 'plastic surgery shaming'

Its not grief causing this as Kelly in particluar has looked like this for some time, they've clearly both had fat removal on the face.

People who lose hug amounts of weight, whether by WLI, WLS or without those things, dont have indents in their face, that is caused by surgical fat removal, resulting in that hollow cheeked look.

Its virtually self harm and concerning.

It's not "body shaming", it's seeing people deliberately do damage to healthy bodies, and talking about a trend toward this among the rich and famous, the people emulated by many others.

No. It’s body shaming.

Kelly is on record as saying she's struggling very badly because of her dad's death. Yes I'm sure she's been on the weight loss injections but the grief won't be helping

Grief wont be helping at all but a face doesnt get that way from just weight loss, its surgical.
