The Green Party in Denton whored themselves out to secure a vote...

The Green Party. A party for women. A party for equality. A party for the rights for gay and trans people.... They ran their campaign on the Gaza stance. To secure the vote of people who go against the majority of their principles.

I am disgusted that British Politics, which is already in the gutter, a party who should champion ethics and morals, has sunk this low.

Surly I cannot be the only one who thinks this way?

I’m baffled why Reform are outraged that their anti-immigration pro-white campaigning has energised muslims and other non-rascists to not vote for them. And then call it cheating!

Saynototheinevitable · 01/03/2026 19:34

YABU you'll find that people voted tactically to prevent Reworm from getting a seat. It was a close call as Reform came 2nd and the Greens knew that it would be. That's why they went all out on their election campaign & capitalised on Labour not putting Andy Burnham forward. If he was allowed to stand then Gorton would still be Labour but they're too short sighted to see this. I suspect that the Greens absorbed a lot of the Labour vote rather than just the Muslim vote.

Young radicals would also be pro Gaza so not just Muslims. I thought the Greens used to be about the environment though?

WHere in our laws does it say that any party has to stay exactly the same and remain single issue forever? I mean look at what Nigel Farage has evolved (or rather, devolved) intoh

OP, if you are going to moan about something on a public forum, then at least get your facts straight.

The areas that were voting for a new MP were Denton, Gorton, Levenshulme, Burnage and Longsight. All working class areas that were predominantly Labour in the past. If you are specifically talking about Denton, 83% are white, British.

If you are just talking about Denton (who you mention in your post), then honestly, most people in Denton wouldn’t give a shiny shit about Gaza. I’ve lived there I know the area. Still a lot who are traditionally Labour voters, some will have been swayed to Greens due to the right-wing press constantly slagging off Starmer and there is the element who would have voted Reform, based on their ‘stop the boats stance’.

I can’t talk about the other parts of the constituency, as I have never lived in those areas, but if you are only going to talk about Denton, get your facts straight.

Whored?

What a disgusting choice of words.

So Gaza is the main issue for people living in the UK at the moment?

An entire population are living in daily fear, many displaced, camps aren’t even safe 70,000+ are dead… and our government won’t condemn it. Our government criminalise people trying to stop these atrocities. Is it really so hard to believe that large swathes of the British electorate CARE?

The Greens are supposed to be left wing, womens right and LGB rights etc.

I would love to know how they treat gay women in Gaza/Palestine. 😒

They're not in power in Palestine.

@pointythings thank you for your reply
@SundayBells she is a property landlord greens want to outlaw landlords ?

She has a partner. They each have a house. This does not make her a property landlord.

And The Mail On Sunday as a source? Really? Really?

JohnBullshit · 01/03/2026 19:14

I thought Reform wanted to be an alternative to the main two parties? Well there you go, kids, you're not alone in that. You've changed the way people vote. If they want to say No to Reform more than they want to say Yes to Labour, that's their right. Or maybe they just really like the Greens?

That’s very … unbiased. “Property hoarding hypocrite” - I’d take that with a lorry load of salt if I were you.

She and her partner own two houses between them. Where did you get the idea they’re landlords?

A lot of good reasons here to vote for this candidate. Who can blame them with this level of hope, passion and commitment from a woman who is an ordinary working class person.

@HopSpringsEternal ok I’ll bite. How did the majority of Muslims vote for a gay Jew and a woman ? Sounds completely incongruent no ? Trojan horse

Let me put it oh so simply for you: They voted to keep Reform out. It's called tactical voting. Reform are going to have a huge problem with it.

Locutus2000 · 01/03/2026 19:02

HopSpringsEternal · 01/03/2026 18:56

I live there. People voted to keep out racist fuckers and not Labour because of Burnham.

The results have shattered the illusions of those thinking Reform would be inevitable.

Far left parties and far right parties always tear themselves apart.
