To be the most shocked about the women possibly involved in it all

With Epstein.

Men, i’m pretty much sick of at this point in my late 40’s, adore my Ddad and Dh is one of the good ones, but thinking back to being young and leering men and uncomfortable and scary situations.
But, rumours of women possibly being involved-obviously vile GM, but a supposed supermodel, JE’s personal assistants and women that seemed to work for him, reports of possibly owning adoption agencies etc. If all true, how on earth could women see children and young girls being abused and hurt and actively make that happen?? Where were all the safe people, why did no one notice and say or do anything?

By her father, I would guess. An abusive parent pre-conditions a person, as outlined by PPs. Her father wasn't your average abuser, either, he was incredibly powerful and domineering. To 'succeed' with a parent like that creates a character and skillset not widely required in everyday life. She'd have needed a similar type of dominant male to make sense of her life 😢

What was the story with her mother?

Not abusers, but how many women do you know who would stand by and let children be abused and possibly more and possibly actively provide this? (Discounting the abused girls/women themselves as previously discussed)

Probably the same as the number of men.

Edit: I don't think I know any ruthless psychopaths.

Epstein certainly seems to have had a way of manipulating people. Look at the wide range of people who socialised with him (including Noam Chomsky). The initial attraction may have been his financial expertise, but he also inspired devotion (if the messages in the birthday book are genuine). He had some kind of magnetism/charisma.

Yes, it’s fascinating

I don't know. I find the relationship between her and Epstien odd. They were in a romantic relationship, then they weren't, yet she stuck by his side aiding his abuse. As far as I know she never had another relationship, she has stayed quiet about him, she looks infatuated with him in some of the pictures. She grew up with a father who mistreated and sexualised women so she would be vulnerable to grooming. I think the difference with her and VG though is that GM was already well into adulthood when she started recruiting girls.

Such an odd relationship. People have said they assumed maybe they were together and going to get married, but on the other hand, weren’t really sure *What they had

Do we think GM was a victim/brainwashed?
I cant speak for everyone else but I absolutely do not think she was brainwashed.

I just wonder if it was just he had something on them. Secrets to blackmail with, favours to call or plain old played on their greed as he was a manipulator? The Ruemmler woman accepted gifts from him didn't she? So greed for her.

The whole thing is just so nasty.

A lot of these women are probably just ruthless. They're less likely to be sexual predators themselves, but if there's something in it for them they don't care. I think men and women are equally ruthless.

It’s the women like Kathy Ruemmler (now head lawyer for Goldman Sachs but will be stepping down) I don’t get. She didn’t need his money yet still fawned over him.

What did she do?

It’s bizarre as it seemed some women fell for him and he was able to pull the wool over so many people’s eyes. Originally a maths teacher who was fired and then fired from his second job, who the hell was this guy

It doesn’t excuse her actions, but her relationship with her father was outright creepy and I reckon JE basically took his place in her life

I haven’t read up on if, but will

And all of this^ this "model" of abuse if you want to call it that is actually really important to predators because it preys on people's vulnerability, guilt and gaslights them to create a huge amount of control. It gives him a load of flying monkeys which were originally victims he'd broken to then go on and increase his reach that are then so complicit they don't know how to come forward or extract themselves. It's disgusting but also very clever and manipulative.

It’s frightening

GM depended on him for money, and got access through him to the top levels of society she had been used to before she lost everything through the death and crimes of her father.

It would still never cross your mind to do what she did though would it

Women attracted to rich powerful evil men are not carers. They’re just as bad as the men.

Some of the women who recruited other girls/women, like Virginia Giurffre, were also victims. It happens very often that the victim becomes a perpetrator. It gives leverage to the one at the top of the chain (Epstien). I suppose we will never know for sure if all the women who aided him had previously been victims.

I think GM found someone like her dad, who I also suspect would have had a parade of girls on tap. I think she placated him and became his 'helper' then did the same with JE who she understood thanks to her dad.

Edited

So fucked up

People working in Harrods were complicit in snaring young women for Al Fayed to abuse, apparently for not much reward for themselves other than perhaps just keeping their jobs. According to one report, managers went to a young woman's home and threatened her father because she went to the police (who apparently likewise thought it was all ok).

This is insane
