Despite his villainous behaviour, anyone feel a teeny bit sorry for Andrew?

Before I get totally flamed, I despise his attitude, and the things he appears to have done - particularly the subsequent lying and apparent determination to shield/ hide misdemeanours. However, seeing the photo of his release today looking a broken man after such huge public downfall , plus thinking of him going back to an empty house on his birthday with no family support - even though I initially felt he deserves every indignity and consequence - there’s still a teeny part of me that just can’t help feeling just a little bit sorry for him. If it’s true that he was taken to a brothel at age 11 , whilst it would in no way excuse abusing others , it means he has also been a victim of abuse. Additionally it seems the Queen and his entourage have never ever said no to him in his whole life- so to reach his 7th decade before any consequences hit makes me question how resilient he will be able to be. Obviously main sympathies are always rightly with any victims , but even the most hardened and perpetual criminals often retain family support, he seems to have nobody. ( albeit if his own making ) or am I just being too soft?!

In regard to family. His kids are not speaking to him. They have all washed their hands of him. I honestly can see him harming him self.

i simply don’t care. What about the victims? There will be countless others he raped not just Virginia Guiffre. He was complicit in a paedofile sex ring - he deserves everything coming his way.

BeardofHagrid · 20/02/2026 19:40

Well, I thought we were supposed to have moved on from the very worst days of trial by media sensationalism. I thought the BBC and co were slow mindful of people’s mental health yet here they are practically baying for him to top himself, saying what’s left for him while showing that ghastly pic of him? Honestly, they are vilifying him more than they did mass murderer Axel Rudakubana. No mention of not prejudicing upcoming trials either. I think the whole country has lost its mind this week.

Hmmmm….no.

It raises a lot of questions about entitlement, the status of the royal family and abuse of privilege.

💯

Can't say that I do. In fact, I hope to see a lot more of the rich and powerful people in the Epstein files in his position.

I second that.

Notmenothere · 20/02/2026 17:37

The ball looks like a boob. Andrew is rolling a ball that looks like a boob to a toddler. Whoever the child is, it’s completely inappropriate. What kind of person gives a ball like that to a toddler?

I have to say, I find the mental leaps being made here to deflect and minimise the situation staggering.

the7Vabo · 20/02/2026 17:31

I don’t feel sorry for him as such.

I do agree with your point that he’s had to wait a hell of a long time to be told no in his life, and that must be quite the come down.

The whole thing makes me think a hell of a lot less of the late Queen. She spoiled him until the very end.

It raises a lot of questions about entitlement, the status of the royal family and abuse of privilege.

He was let away with awful awful behaviour for years - greedy, grabby, entitled and that’s before you get onto the darker stuff.

And that stuff about money and dodgy dealings was in the papers years ago, and nobody did anything.

His daughters should not have titles. They should disappear from public life as should his ex although she could probably be charged too.

It’s just awful.

Im also surprised that William was seen with him publicly as recently as 2023. I thought William was going to be the clean future of the monarchy.

This is pure speculation, unless you were there. I'm not defending him but the doj and the media seem to be absolutely obsessed and very selective on what the print

I am not speculating anything but others are claiming these pictures show Andrew giving his nephew James a ballon or whatever. The photo as such are uncomfortable, not something I'd like stored on my hard drive and not best pleased to have clicd on it at all.

However it loo highly unlikely that Andrew is an innocent lamb🐑
Time will tell.

IngridBergmannn · 20/02/2026 17:14

What... I feel sorry for poor Virginia Giuffre. Fuck Andrew. He should be locked up.

Well it does look like a breast, and fuck knows what that picture is in the background. Looks like an adult with a child in underwear, dunno, can't quite make it out (or may be perfectly innocent).

Edited

Yea it could be perfectly innocent

Are you saying Andrew MBW gave his nephew this adult boob toy to play with? That's even more creepy. Envy

Thank you so much. It’s been a long road.

Yes, we want all these abusers to face justice. I thought Trump’s response was very telling. No empathy towards the victims and he really did sound like he was gloating about Andrew’s arrest.

I just had a passing thought, it’s possible that Andrew MBW, frustrated by his demotion and the loss of titles and income, may have approached Trump indirectly, potentially signalling that he possessed information about Trump and Epstein. This, in turn, could have prompted Trump to provide information regarding A MBW to the British authorities.

… sorry, I think my original post applies to you too. I really hope you haven’t read the entireity of the files. It you have and this is your attitude you are just as bad as them.

No, I have only read what has been reported in the main UK news sites. The men whose vile comments I have read are disgusting, despicable, loathsome, whatever you want to say about them. But I’m not clear - are you saying Andrew has been proven to have been involved in the loathsome conversations? I knew he was involved in sex with a 17-year-old, and begging for money, and now it seems he was giving away state secrets. As you seem to be an expert, is there something else from or about Andrew revealed in the files?

Viviennemary · 20/02/2026 16:05

it is given what I read earlier on here about what is actually referred to in the EF. I have decided I can’t know any more about them for my own peace of mind.

Probably a good thing, take a step back.

I too am not holding out much hope for a conviction but that remains to be seen. He'll have top notch lawyers and the whole charade stinks. He's detested by most of the country because of his arrogance and entitlement. Him and his ghastly wife are a disgrace. There's a helluva lot more that needs to be brought to the surface but will it? Let's hope all the abusers are uncovered and prosecuted.
May your life continue on an upward scale and that you have strength to make it happen.

I think the other photo is a balloon

Seen so many pictures of what AMW has been up to and peoples going on about how awful it is. When you see the picture the tag line might say Prince Andrew but the person in the photo is not Prince Andrew/AMW

People need to really look at what is put in front of them and use some critical thinking.

I can see him being charged (because the police are being forced into a trial because the general public won’t accept anything else) Then his defence team having a field day with the fake photos and ridiculous accusations.

This latest one being the inference that he is entertaining a random child for nefarious purposes when it’s just him playing with his nephew

Is playing ball with your baby nephew or niece weird now,

Once saw the headlines that Richard Madderly was spotted having dinner with a young mystery blonde. There was a few paragraphs about them giggling whilst Judy was home alone.

It was his daughter

because the police are being forced into a trial because the general public won’t accept anything else

The police don’t decide whether to charge or not.

Those aren’t felt butterflies. They’re the child’s hands.

James, Earl of Wessex was born in 2007 and would have been 4 years old in 2011 when this picture is allegedly from. The toddler in the picture looks no older than 18 months. The way it's been reported, they are hinting it may be JE's child.

Do most families let their boy toddlers play with 'boob balls' then? Not sure they are designed for babies. This photo was among the Epstein files released by the doj.

I am not sure what butterflies you are seeing.

Not a great look for Andrew being depicted with a toddler boy playing with an adult toy. For what it's worth, I don't believe he is a nonce. But he was more than happy to turn a blind eye to the going ons and do whatever it took to keep the money from Epstein coming his way. He and Sarah played a dirty and dangerous game. I hope they will pay for it.

I'm wondering if Mandelson is cooperating with the police to deflect from his own involvement in it all.

Who bought the ball, who manufactured it, they are widely available to buy online.

It doesn’t actually say the photo was taken in 2011.

It says about 2011 so could be 2009. This boy does look like Edwards DS when he was about the age of the child in the photo

If you look at all the pictures you can see the ball has felt stuck to it in one picture then there is a picture that is made to look like it is being rolled back to Andrew but the ball is no longer there and it changes to a balloon.

I think the whole article is rubbish and has taken what was an innocent set of pictures and altered them to fit the narrative.

I think many of us have been socialised to feel sorry for privileged, abusive men who get their consequences. Feel it but recognise it for what it is and then let it go.

Agreed. I have always been supportive of the royal family, especially the Walses and especially Catherine, princess of Wales.

However, while I don't think the monarchy will be dismantled any time soon or ever, it's all leaving a bad impression now. Murky system enabling abuse and exploitation. High lack of transparency and accountability. I'm no longer keen.

I've never been keen on the Sussexes but they must be thanking their lucky stars not to be associated with any of this.
