Despite his villainous behaviour, anyone feel a teeny bit sorry for Andrew?

Before I get totally flamed, I despise his attitude, and the things he appears to have done - particularly the subsequent lying and apparent determination to shield/ hide misdemeanours. However, seeing the photo of his release today looking a broken man after such huge public downfall , plus thinking of him going back to an empty house on his birthday with no family support - even though I initially felt he deserves every indignity and consequence - there’s still a teeny part of me that just can’t help feeling just a little bit sorry for him. If it’s true that he was taken to a brothel at age 11 , whilst it would in no way excuse abusing others , it means he has also been a victim of abuse. Additionally it seems the Queen and his entourage have never ever said no to him in his whole life- so to reach his 7th decade before any consequences hit makes me question how resilient he will be able to be. Obviously main sympathies are always rightly with any victims , but even the most hardened and perpetual criminals often retain family support, he seems to have nobody. ( albeit if his own making ) or am I just being too soft?!

We all call him oaedophile etc, but the girl was 17. Yrs it’s below age of consent in America but not in UK. Or are there others we don’t know about?

If she was trafficked she wasn’t capable of consent, no matter how old she was.

CasuallyConfused · 19/02/2026 23:21

Absolutely not.

He will unfortunately get away with everything he has done, he is part of one of the most powerful families in the world. He's been arrested for sharing confidential information with Epstein, not sexual assault, rape, abuse.... etc which is what he should be being arrested for. He's back to his comfy mansion this evening, he's not on the concrete floor of the custody suite in his grey tracky with a little blanket. Nothing will come of this.

The only people I feel sorry for in all this are the many women and girls who were abused, raped and assaulted by Andrew and many many others.

I hope you get the help you so obviously need.

Flomingho · 19/02/2026 23:21

No sympathy at all. Selfish, self absorbed, arrogant and an alleged abuser. I have totally lost any respect I had for the Royal Family over this. The late Queen lacked any morals by paying off one of his accusers. Yet again, the rich and powerful getting away with what most people would go to prison for. It's about time it all came crashing down.

It’s lovely that you have compassion OP. I have to admit that seeing the pictures of him has moved me to feel a bit sorry for him. I’m imagining how his daughters must be feeling and how it would be awful to look at your Dad broken and in a heap of trouble. It must be heart wrenching for them.

Hopefully their hearts are wrenching for his victims.

Is there a reason you're responding to a post about a bad man who did bad things with 'whatabout bad women...?'

Ah, no, she responded to another post?

Tickyandtackyandjackiethebackie · 19/02/2026 23:20

Didn't bother reading the full post - wtf!

usedtobeaylis · 19/02/2026 23:19

Not one fucking bit.

Emotionalsupporttissue · 19/02/2026 23:18

I hope that the investigation into the crime he has been arrested for reveals information about the trafficking of young women and outs the others involved with it.
I can only imagine that AMW's arrogance and self importance means he's massively indignant that he's the only one being linked to the trafficking.

Strngerthings · 19/02/2026 23:04

i would said bad humans do bad things, look at catherine the great and other historical females that went rogue

Is there a reason you're responding to a post about a bad man who did bad things with 'whatabout bad women...?'

Pepperlee · 19/02/2026 22:27

You don't know that for sure. I wish people wouldn't take their own thoughts as truth. It's just what you think. And she was a woman when she died...not a girl.

And do you know any different? It was stated in the press snd everywhere that she killed herself so anything else Is just peoples own thoughts but I’m allowed to have my own thoughts the same as you thank you very much

Are you quite alright in the head?
I'm assuming you're joking? I hope you are.

He's an overpriveleged spoilt brat bourne of privilege and nonsense in the first instance.

Even forgetting that side of it, he was a rich and influential man who gave another rich and influential man state secrets as collateral.

Epstein knew everything because he demanded insurance he wouldn't be sold out, as such he seems to have traded in deepest darkest secrets.

And on return, this overpriveleged man operating as a member of tax payer funded royalty, used those secrets to buy his way to access to children to rape.

'underage women' are children, who even outwith the dynamic of trafficking lack the capacity to consent to sex.

If you're not kidding then there's something seriously wrong with your sense of reason.

TempestTost · 19/02/2026 23:15

Scout2016 · 19/02/2026 22:57

He's being done on dodgy dealing, not for sex offences. What does that tell us about police priorities? Years of sexual abuse allegations and nothing. Something involving money and in they go.

I feel for the victims, their families and for Andrew's daughters and grandchildren. I am utterly disgusted by all the men who have said nothing. The men who could come forward to say what they saw and heard and help with prosecutions. There will be hundreds if not thousands. Not one has stepped out. There must have been at least one bloke who could claim they were just a fly on the wall, who did nothing but witnessed something. Where are they? They could do that to help the victims but won't. Utterly cretinous scumbags, Andrew included.

Sexual offences can be very hard to prove in court, and the process is often traumatic for the victim.

Money stuff had the advantage that it's typically all on paper.

MID50s · 19/02/2026 23:14

Rhubarbandcustardd · 19/02/2026 22:15

I don’t think for one moment she killed herself she was silenced - I’m always aghast her family think she killed herself
when she’d already said publically if I something happens to me you’ll know I’ve been got at

also Epstein - no one with his big head would ever kill himself / he would have been waiting for a lawyer to get him out- same establishment machine trying to protect the monarchy and other rich powerful men - men like Epstein do not commit suicide

Edited

Then even more reason not to feel the smallest bit sorry for Andrew

WhaAMess · 19/02/2026 23:13

lazyarse123 · 19/02/2026 23:00

No and I saw on one of the news channels someone saying we need to be careful of his mental health. No we fucking don't he has never considered anyone else in his entire life.
Wouldn't bother me if he decided to not carry on.

I agree. The only reason I’d like him to live is if justice would be served. I don’t think it will be, it’ll be another cover up and dodgy deal, so if he dies, however that happens, I really don’t care. I don’t think he’ll be alive this time next year, one way or another.

Bloodyscarymary · 19/02/2026 23:13

OneBadKitty · 19/02/2026 23:05

I think he's a very misguided individual who has lived a life in circles most of us can't even comprehend and he's now being made the scapegoat for a whole seedy world in which he played only a small part. I don't feel sorry for him but I do feel others should be exposed also.

Today's arrest is unlikely to have much to do with the epstein case and more to do with his misconduct in relation to government information.

Calling him a peadophile and a rapist is unhelpful language when it's really not proven that he's either of these things.

I agree. The NSPCC actually has guidelines to request people don’t throw about the term pedophile unless they’re specifically talking about someone who has sexual desires for prepubescent children as it just makes children less safe to use the term incorrectly.

Even though it is morally wrong for a whole host of reasons, and mostly illegal, to sleep with someone in their teens when you are an adult, this categorically does not make you a pedophile.

LunaDeBallona · 19/02/2026 23:12

I don’t feel on the slightest bit sorry for him.
I don’t know how on earth he can ever be prosecuted though as he will never be able to have a fair, unbiased trial.
Equally I’m mightily pissed off that the only person in jail for crimes associated with Epstein is
a) A British woman
and the only person being utterly hounded and disgraced is
b) a British man.

Where is the ‘trial by media’ and downfall of all of the other men mentioned in the Epstein files?
Why is is only AMW.?? Easy target??

FlamingoFloss · 19/02/2026 23:12

He deserves everything he gets.

jenny38 · 19/02/2026 23:11

Wow. No. I am a mother and my sympathy lies entirely with the victims. Society needs protecting from the likes of him. Imagine your own child in the company of him and epstein? Its not a comfortable though, is it? His privilege has protected him, and his family money, paid for by the public purse, will pay for his defence. I have no time for the royal family.

Babsandherwabs · 19/02/2026 23:08

Er no, he’s from one of the most powerful families in the world, he can get out of anything - including being in that situation in the first place. Any good person would get themselves away from that situation before it even became a situation because they would be instinctively revolted by signs along the way.

Cornishclio · 19/02/2026 23:07

He apparently is not a nice man according to staff who worked for him so no I don’t feel sorry for him.

lazyarse123 · 19/02/2026 23:07

Strngerthings · 19/02/2026 23:01

do you consider the same logic to the general public ?

My stepfather was a paedophile rapist so yes i do.

TonTonMacoute · 19/02/2026 23:07

Absolutely loathe and despise the ghastly creep, but arresting him on his birthday!? I felt that was just unnecessarily unprofessionally nasty.

Queenoftartts · 19/02/2026 23:06

No I do for his daughters and grandchildren. But he’s a public disgrace.
