Despite his villainous behaviour, anyone feel a teeny bit sorry for Andrew?

Before I get totally flamed, I despise his attitude, and the things he appears to have done - particularly the subsequent lying and apparent determination to shield/ hide misdemeanours. However, seeing the photo of his release today looking a broken man after such huge public downfall , plus thinking of him going back to an empty house on his birthday with no family support - even though I initially felt he deserves every indignity and consequence - there’s still a teeny part of me that just can’t help feeling just a little bit sorry for him. If it’s true that he was taken to a brothel at age 11 , whilst it would in no way excuse abusing others , it means he has also been a victim of abuse. Additionally it seems the Queen and his entourage have never ever said no to him in his whole life- so to reach his 7th decade before any consequences hit makes me question how resilient he will be able to be. Obviously main sympathies are always rightly with any victims , but even the most hardened and perpetual criminals often retain family support, he seems to have nobody. ( albeit if his own making ) or am I just being too soft?!

A specialist fine art van turned up at windsor today. That's very interesting I wonder if they have evidence of art fraud ?

They'd have to look at everything. Probably put a call into the WJRO and the other organisations that are still tracing and returning looted works of art to the descendants of people murdered in the 1940s, too.

Venicelagoon · 20/02/2026 00:01

No. No. Thrice No. Loved the earlier post referring to him as "formally known as Nonce".

Papster · 20/02/2026 00:01

This is about money.

Easier to trace and prove.

He’ll go to prison for this

Sensiblesal · 20/02/2026 00:00

When he did that newsnight interview he should have told the truth. If he was so innocent then the right thing for him to do would have been to aid the FBI in securing convictions.

The fact his family have washed hands makes me think there must be some truths there.

so no, I don’t feel sorry for him. The victims need justice

Absolutely!!

Please see my previous response to why only an idiot would agree with this

KnittyNell · 19/02/2026 23:55

My dh served alongside him on HMS Illustrious during the Falklands war. My dh accidentally stepped on Andrew MB’s foot and A screamed like a baby and called my dh a “Fucking prick”
So proud of DH and wish he had stepped on his throat! 😁

my point and context was if you are expressing surprise at the support for andrew who some consider a criminal then george was also a criminal yet got support even considering his crimes, were omg etc

Absolutely!!

suki1964 · 19/02/2026 23:52

Seriously? Not one Jot

Im two years older then him, I used to think he was Prince Charming as a young teen, he was so handsome back then, then during the Falklands he became a bit of a poster boy

But then it all went wrong, not having something to define him, his true colours showed

Everything that man has touched since has turned to dust

His sense of entitlement is just beyond the pale

I remember the mocking Edward got when he decided on a Royal its a knockout, and then his business ventures which were eye watering embarrassing and questionable to say the least, but him and Sophie learned and knuckled down

Whatever happened with Epstein and girls really isnt the point. Its the fact he and Fergie were relying and sucked up to Epstein , taking his money freely totally disgusts me

BTW, Im in no way saying that the women involved dont count. Im trying, very badly to say, even if Andrew had no clue or was implicit in the abuse of women , hes more so guilty for enabling the behaviour he knew Epstein was tried and imprissioned for

And Fergie? She is a disgusting excuse of a woman

florence1234567 · 19/02/2026 23:51

Absolutely not.

superfrog2 · 19/02/2026 23:51

i think anyone who has done the things he’s done and now has been caught would look broken - the sad thing is will he ever face charges for being a peadophile and being in sex trafficking
all of it is just so awful

imagien what he would have looked like if he had slept in a cell all night!!!

Yes, and my point is that the outrage over George Floyd was justified because a) even criminals deserve not be murdered and b) the police should not be murdering people.

Feeling sorry for Andrew being peacefully arrested in the investigation of crimes is nothing alike. Even if it was - boo hoo - on his birthday.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 19/02/2026 23:48

Don't be so bloody soft.

He's shocked because he was treated like a mere commoner, one of the lumpen proletariat.

And probably because he realises that this means the Police will be going through every record, every email, every scrap of property, every online search he's ever made and video he's ever watched. Because there's nobody to hide behind anymore.

I feel very uncomfortable about it because, as others have said, he seems to be the fall guy for the whole despicable affair, and is probably a bit player. No one in the US is going to face any kind of consequences. I feel strangely pissed off that only British people are being punished for the malevolent deeds of this American bastard. And I don’t even like any of them!

That's interesting. I searched 'Frogmore' in the Epstein Files and felt very uncomfortable reading an interview with a woman who said she was sexually assaulted by Andrew as a child.

orangemapleleaves · 19/02/2026 23:44

Nope. His behaviour has ruined lives. That girl in that photo he's lying over looks like a child. He is facing consequences for the first time in his life.

Support for someone murdered publicly by state police forces is a proportionate response.

If george floyd had been taken for questioning for a crime, released on bail to await trial I doubt there'd have been much out ry.

If a group of police officers had picked up Andrew, held him down and proceeded to kneel on his neck while he cried for his mother until he suffocated to death despite onlookers videoing in horror and asking them to stop I think most people probably would feel some compassion for him.

Can you see the difference there?

George floyd was murdered without trial by the police due to suspicion of robbing a convenience store. AMH has been taken on for questioning and released pending further investigation despite decades of sex trafficking allegations and now evidence coming to light of sharing state secrets with a convicted sex trafficking paedophile.

Please tell me you understand why people's responses to your straw man argument are incredulity?

Well said.

There are lots of desperate attempts to deflect and derail threads.

Lock in up in prison with all the other paedos, nonces and short-eyes.

Wait, why are we mad at hyperopes?

No.

EsmaCannonball · 19/02/2026 23:38

No. Aside from all the terrible sexual and financial stories, there are endless accounts of his abysmal treatment of other people and boorish self-serving. A friend of a friend was in the navy with him during the Falklands period and said he was thoroughly obnoxious and despised by all. (Only he said it with more swear words involved.)

I read Ben Mcintyre's The Siege not that long ago and while the police and the SAS were in the middle of dealing with the Iranian Embassy siege, the 20 year old Andrew repeatedly badgered them to give him a tour of the operations and provide him with a sit-down lunch.

justhowdoyouknow · 19/02/2026 23:36

Would you feel sorry for “John” who lived on benefits, in a council flat who’s picture appeared in the local rag after being arrested for something similar?

Autumngirl5 · 19/02/2026 23:35

I think his behaviour has been awful of course but I do feel that there has been a witch hunt against him purely because he is part of our royal family and British people seem to enjoy seeing people fall from grace.

Shouldbedoing · 19/02/2026 23:34

Nope

I have this 1961 Australian Women's Weekly magazine, with Andrew on the cover on his first birthday.

I feel a bit sorry for this baby, knowing what's ahead for him, but I don't feel sorry for the 66-year-old.

🤢🤮 how obscene when considered alongside the stories of babies in the Epstein files. If that baby had been born a different time and place he could have been trafficked to a millionaire paedophile like JE victims, that trafficking enabled and covered up by powerful men like Andrew mount attention windsor.

That photo is a stark and horrific reminder of the accident of birth that leads to such level of inequality
