Despite his villainous behaviour, anyone feel a teeny bit sorry for Andrew?

Before I get totally flamed, I despise his attitude, and the things he appears to have done - particularly the subsequent lying and apparent determination to shield/ hide misdemeanours. However, seeing the photo of his release today looking a broken man after such huge public downfall , plus thinking of him going back to an empty house on his birthday with no family support - even though I initially felt he deserves every indignity and consequence - there’s still a teeny part of me that just can’t help feeling just a little bit sorry for him. If it’s true that he was taken to a brothel at age 11 , whilst it would in no way excuse abusing others , it means he has also been a victim of abuse. Additionally it seems the Queen and his entourage have never ever said no to him in his whole life- so to reach his 7th decade before any consequences hit makes me question how resilient he will be able to be. Obviously main sympathies are always rightly with any victims , but even the most hardened and perpetual criminals often retain family support, he seems to have nobody. ( albeit if his own making ) or am I just being too soft?!

Also he is British so our responsibility. The rest of them as pp has said, we in the UK can't really do much about. But he has done it to the UK tax payer. He has cost us and he has betrayed us. So that isn't scapegoating him for the others.
He can only be prosecuted here for laws he has broken here. That's not a witch hunt or being made a scapegoat it's the least he deserves. The US needs to get it's act together and start prosecutions.
But hey blame the public for being disgusted at his behaviour.

No. He’s arrogant and thought he was above everyone and everything.

Like Harry, he has been brought up in such a privileged world, that he will never, ever, “get” what he’s done wrong, because his actions have never had any consequences.

Andrew has treated people like shit all his life, he is probably shell shocked at being on the receiving end of it.

zero sympathy here.

I don't think you can compare Harry and Andrew. Yes Harry is entitled and the constant whingeing about his family is tiresome but he actually hasn't done or being accused of anything illegal, paid off a sexual abuse victim or being close friends with a known trafficker.

The worst Harry is is annoying and if anything I have more admiration for him for walking away from that absolute shit show that is the royal family. He isn't even the same orbit for what Andrew has done.

I don’t feel sorry for him as he has to take his punishment like everyone else. But I do think the public are on a witch hunt now and he will have nowhere to turn. I can sadly see this ending badly for him

A bit unfair blaming the public for being annoyed at his decades of sleaze and corruption.

Lobelia123 · 20/02/2026 06:38

Oh for goodness sake. NO. Next thing you'll be feeling sorry for Ghislaine Maxwell too. Absolute rot. Hes had every opportunity and privilege and through a long life could have chosen to do the right thing and consistently and actively chose not to, and to hurt and damage others, including his own country.

Absolutely no sympathy! No one should be above the law and it should not have taken the removal of his titles for him to face the consequences of his actions! Sadly, this while linked to Epstein, is not really about the abuse of girls and young women! He’s still got a nice home to live in and will continue to funded by his brother!

topcat2014 · 20/02/2026 06:32

I just resent that this will be in the news for months. I never wish to see any Epstein photos again

TawnyVowel · 20/02/2026 06:31

I don’t have empathy but I can understand his shock. I met him in the early 2000s through work and we were told he can be quite volatile and you never know what to expect. He was actually quite nice but it proves his whole team knew exactly what he was like all along. It bothers me that no one stepped in to stop it from happening.

I have equally little sympathy for Sarah, who essentially is just a massive free loader, she totally knew what was going on a went along with it. I don’t know about the girls, I feel like they’ve inherited the entitlement but probably trusted their parents as most kids would. I wonder whether H&M will say anything on this given how much they’ve had to say about the RF when it suits them so far and for much less. B&E are about the only people he has any connection to but it sounds like they might be outcast fairly soon too.

THisbackwithavengeance · 20/02/2026 06:30

He’s been made a scapegoat for the rest of them who are now getting away with murder, rape, child abuse and corruption.

So in that respect, I feel sorry for him.

And as a poster said, it’s a public witch-hunt.

We are being played like instruments. The higher-ups have decided that Andrew will take the hit and Joe Public will bay for blood and we will get the modern day equivalent of a public execution.

And then we forget about the whole thing and forget about the rest of them who no doubt have set up their seedy practices on another remote island and will carry on business as normal.

it’s sickening.

I agree Op nothing as yet has been proven, so maybe he was a young player at one point beside Virginia who (killed herself over losing custody of her kids and not allowed to see them) was 17 at the time; so no laws broken. She also previously boasted about sleeping with a British prince 🤔 and again nothing has been proven he’s gave away British secrets.

Seems like a witch hunt after British men even though beside Virginia mentioning Andrew nothing else has been said by others except that he stayed in contact with JE but that’s not a crime is it? Also Virginia never brought a criminal case against Andrew only a civil case 🫤 rumours of such & such paid but no definitive proof other than hearsay.

Whys everyone buying into this shit? Why are the yanks determined to bring down the British monarchy? Why so many redacted names/photos/statements? Why only British people being named? So many questions with zero answers.

Not only Andrew
The whole lot
The rich, the powerful,movie stars
Anyone who's ever set a foot on that Island
Probably the whole of Hollywood
Most of the world's politicians
All needs investigating
Obviously they won't, cuz they're all protecting each other.
However, why would you care if one evil got caught?
Because the other evils haven't?
Interesting display of patriotism, save your sympathy to more deserving causes

Bellaunion · 20/02/2026 06:19

PinkFrogss · 19/02/2026 21:56

I’ll reserve my sympathy for his victims

Absolutely this.

And I don't think we can say he has no family support. He's still staying in a home that is far bigger than the average home, rent free and paid for completely by his brother.

He was still in contact and associated with Epstein long after his crimes were known about. If he looks broken then he completely deserves to be.

PithyViewer · 20/02/2026 06:19

hattie43 · 20/02/2026 05:17

I think he must be as thick as pig shit to not realise this would all come down on him like a ton of bricks . He has lived a guilded life with no consequences for anything and by all accounts is vile to other people so no I don’t have empathy . He needs to disappear forever whether that be exile or jail . Having said that his wife should join him .

He did indeed live a gilded life, and I agree that he must be immensely thick. I was just thinking that earlier. Most criminals are quite thick, though.

I do think Epstein was a genius at sniffing out seemingly powerful people who had weaknesses. Andrew's arrogance couldn't resist flattery, for example. Perhaps the offered friendship, as well (I suspect Andrew is generally lonely).
But, ultimately, we are all accountable. His story has an almost sub-Shakespearian quality now - a flawed man brought down by poor decisions and deserted by his family in the glare of the public.
What a horrid, grim life he has left now.

They ate children on thay island
And tortured them 🙄
Whether he was involved in all, God only knows
But it was the kind of place you order your fetishes
Awww he was lonely
And?
Flattery
Really?

Awww the prince is being held accountable for his evil actions
Awww
Are you ok?
Do you even know what they got up to on that Island?
From child S abuse, to torturing children to cannibalism.
Dunno what individuals done, but they all knew what was happening there, also people who sell their own kids
The most horrifying stories ever
And you're worried about what exactly?

Poor Falklanders if they do...

SqB · 20/02/2026 06:03

No. I want him to be charged and locked up.

ThePerfectWeekender · 20/02/2026 06:01

Do I fuck! Read 'Entitled' and remember where Virginia Giuffre is now. That piece of shit had it coming and then some...FAFO.

HK04 · 20/02/2026 05:52

He’s acted appallingly. He’s more than a little bit stupid. He looks shell shocked and broken. Mostly thoughts 100% with victims but yes, on a human level do have some compassion for AMW, even though can’t stand the man…he is likely a suicide risk now.

Newnamehiwhodis · 20/02/2026 05:52

Feel sorry for a rapist? No.

Ihatethistimeline · 20/02/2026 05:47

And his ex Fergie is disgusting too. Her emails show she was sharing stories of her own daughters sexuality to titillate Epstein for the purpose of begging for money. I’d be surprised if the files don’t show she was also involved in all kinds of corruption. What an awful pair of greedy, spoiled, corrupt, grifting, degenerate people.

OtterlyAstounding · 20/02/2026 05:46

Simonjt · 19/02/2026 21:59

No, I’ve never felt sorry for anyone who has sexually assaulted someone, I don’t really see
them as people.

I don't feel sorry for them either, but I do think it's important not to 'monster' people, as it can have negative side effects.
They are people, like it or not, who walk among us. A lot of them - likely more than you think, and you're probably friends with several without knowing. They don't stop being people because they've sexually assaulted someone. They should be locked away from society (or hell, even quietly disposed of, I'm not fussy), but they're still people.

As this Italian blogger writes, quite aptly:
"We tell ourselves that these men are monsters because we cannot look the truth in the eye: these men are just like us, we went to school with them, we taught them. The crime they committed is not due to animal or monstrous instincts, but it was enabled and encouraged by the society we live in."

Ihatethistimeline · 20/02/2026 05:38

No. He had far more chances to succeed in life than 99.99% of the rest of the world. Everything was handed to him on a plate since birth. All he had to do was get up in the morning and breath and he would be given VIP treatment. He was at the top of the totem pole of white male hetero upper class privilege. But instead he chose to been part of a paedo ring.

I’ll save my sorrow for those who never stood a chance, those like Virgina Guifreye who suffered abuse since young childhood, and was targeted for more abuse by Epstein and Andrew’s ring precisely because they knew she was one of life’s ‘losers’ and nobody would ever believe her, unlike them.

Lampzade · 20/02/2026 05:31

No, no, no
