So what do we think will happen to Andrew, could he actually go to prison?

I just don’t believe it could happen. Also I’d like him to go to prison for the sex offences, that seems more important than his sharing confidential information problem.

It was never going to "go to trial" it was a civil case he was advised to settle and he did she then lost interest in having him criminally prosecuted

Not true. The judge in a civil case looks very unfavourably on a plaintiff who refuses a reasonable financial offer and is likely to award them far less than if they'd settled.

My theory is that Charles wants him to leave the country to get people's attention off the rest of the royal family. So, he has allowed the arrest so that Andrew will flee to the UAE before he can be charged.

The UK has a formal extradition treaty with UAE, so I’m not sure that would be a great move.

Eh? He’s not the only one named? There are 1000s of people named in the files, as I’m sure you know. It’s up to the police to decide which one of those should face a criminal investigation.
Obviously the public is going to be interested in a member of the Royal family being arrested. That doesn’t mean we don’t want to see every single person involved to be held to account. Hopefully the investigation into Andrew will lead to more and more of them facing repercussions.

I've not heard any other SPECIFIC names - just innuendo and allegations. Perhaps you would enlighten me?

Who would you rather have?.President Blair?
No thanks!!

So, you'd rather have King Andrew? Got it!

Ophir · 19/02/2026 22:27

If he’s convicted of the potential offences suggested, then yes, I think he will. There are very serious allegations

I also think it’s likely that his health will fail or an accident will befall him

But in law he has not committed any sexual crime!

He is one of hundreds associated with Epstein. Why is he the only target? Why is he the only one named?

I have no sympathy for him but this is not fair.
Some on here will not be satisfied.

That doesn’t equate prejudice though, does it.

He’s also not the only target, by any stretch - but he is probably one of the most focused on in this country because of public interest.

When he flew to stay with a convicted paedophile, it was quite likely he was using tax payers money to do it.

People, quite rightly, want that and him investigating.

In the law, yet.

TunnocksOrDeath · 19/02/2026 22:18

It would be very difficult to obtain sufficient evidence to secure a conviction that he had sex years ago with specific individuals, and that he knew those individuals were underage or coerced rather than just impressed by his fame. It appears that there might be evidence that he shared information that should have remained confidential, in relation to his role as a public official, so if that's all they can get him on, that's what they'll go for. The cost of keeping him safe in prison would be astronomical; if he gets a conviction it would be more pragmatic to make him wear a tag at home (esp. given his age) but I don't know if that would even be an option.

How is anyone prejudiced here?

Nobody is suggesting that all 66 year old men in Norwich are sexual abusers, or in fact that they all associate with sexual abusers.

Just that one. Who has admitted association with one. And has had photos taken in the home of one, with young women.

That’s not prejudice, or bias. I am not biased against 66 year old men, that would be awfully specific.

When Lord Peter Wimsey's brother, the Duke of Denver, was arrested, he had to be tried by a jury of his peers ie: members of the House of Lords. Is that tradition still on the books?

This poster - indeed a 68 year-old woman, is not "defensive" and certainly not "emotionally invested" but is keen to discourage a witch hunt.

Can you really not see that some opinions expressed on here are no different from those expressed about immigrants, Muslims, Jews?

No interest in Fact or Law, just bias and prejudice?

It's very odd. Do any of you stop and think sometimes?

What about your prejudice towards AMW's sex trafficked victims?

Would she fuck 😂

I live in Norfolk. Used to regularly see the Queen pottering about like a normal person. Quite unnerving the first time. No one in that area bats an eyelid.

The only sad aspect of today's events is that it's sullied Wood Farm, the lovely bolthole where Prince Philip spent his final days and where the Queen would pop round to cook his tea and do the washing up, like they were just a normal retired couple pottering around in their dotage.

Fantasy. The Queen did about as much washing up as Mary Berry. None.

This ^ I cannot believe it is a 68 year old woman either. This poster is extremely defensive and emotionally invested for a reason we do not know.

Yes SF frantically searching AMW MN threads, I can just picture it.

I tho the house move was a covert way of getting rid of evidence. There will investigations but no prosecutions. Even if a trial goes ahead noting will be proven.
