Only seems to be about potentially doing something wrong as a trade envoy along the lines of Mandelson .

This has nothing to do with his sexual antics. This is his behaviour as a trade envoy.

But its a start - at last.

TroubleHubbleBubble · 19/02/2026 10:30

This is great and thoroughly well deserved but he’s been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office (trade envoy), not anything to do with trafficking or sex crimes.

I bet he's sweating now

You win the thread 😀

Good. Remember this is just about the passing of confidential info to Epstein…. But the emails I’ve seen are so damning it had to happen. As more and more stuff comes out, it can only get worse and I guess could extend to charges of abuse etc. I hope this helps the Americans to put additional pressure on those in Epstein works in the U.S.

Lampzade · 19/02/2026 10:29

Good

minou123 · 19/02/2026 10:29

Most important question.......

Who is going to pay for his lawyers?
If Charlie doesn't stump up, does Andrew qualify for legal aid?

sittingonabeach · 19/02/2026 10:29

It’s to do with his role as trade envoy. That’s what this police department was investigating. Much easier to find evidence and proof that there was misconduct in this respect

HelplessSoul · 19/02/2026 10:28

Fuck him. Cunt.

Muffinmam · 19/02/2026 10:28

Finally!!!

Police also need to reopen the murder investigation of the Latvian woman whose body was found near Andrew’s house.

Andrew is an evil POS.

If only Virginia Andrews Guiffre were still here to see. Her children should be so proud of her.

It’s to do with misconduct in public office, so telling something he should not have done. Not the sex trafficking

I’ll take it. Like Al Capone being got on tax evasion, whatever takes people down is a start and also shames other nations who aren’t taking action.

Ihateboris · 19/02/2026 10:27

I've always wanted to use this word.. I'm feeling a degree of schadenfreude!

Vaxtable · 19/02/2026 10:26

FrothyCothy · 19/02/2026 10:10

Glad the UK is leading the way in actually doing something about those named in the files unlike everywhere else it seems.

It’s to do with misconduct in public office, so telling something he should not have done. Not the sex trafficking

This has nothing to do with his sexual antics. This is his behaviour as a trade envoy.

That's how I've read the news.
Its about misconduct in office.

Is it to do with sending Epsrein copies of sensitive/private UK trade deals?

SusanSHelit · 19/02/2026 10:25

This has genuinely made my day. And in his birthday too! You couldn't make it up 😁

Let's wait and see. I suspect this is just to sate the general public. I'll eat my hat if anything actually comes of it.

I hope you're wrong, but I get it. My own first reaction after 'Hurray!' was 'PLEASE don't cock this up'

KatyaKanani · 19/02/2026 10:25

CharlotteRumpling · 19/02/2026 10:24

Because Trumpists think it is a feature, not a bug.
Also Andrew has been arrested for sharing confidential material. Not sex crimes.

Thanks, Charlotte. As I thought.

Yes. Good - I hope it's a successful prosecution.

KatyaKanani · 19/02/2026 10:22

Good point. Only target and arrest British people? Why?

The arrest is symbolic even if nothing comes of it. Historically I imagine someone somewhere would have intervened to spare the Royal Family’s blushes but that’s no longer an option.

Lifesd · 19/02/2026 10:21

About time - now can the rest follow

We hope. I'm not sure. I've no time for this vile man, but sadly he's not the only one.

murasaki · 19/02/2026 10:23

What delicious timing on his birthday.

KnitFastDieWarm · 19/02/2026 10:23

Well, if it isn’t the consequences of his own actions…

This has brought me great joy today.
