Are you now more likely to vote for REFORM (the party)

NC for this and apologies if Q already asked. My quick search yielded no result.

Reform plan to undo the reversal of 2 child cap benefit. Are you now likely (or more likely) to vote for them? There have been endless threads about the welfare bill.

So you want me to believe they’re all feminists who are only moving because they don’t like how the women are treated? Completely detached from reality

Have you ever read the back story of someone trying to claim asylum? Or are you going to stick to the line that they are all coming over here to groom kids

Moonshadowmoon · 21/02/2026 10:50

scottishgirl69 · 21/02/2026 10:48

You said millions. I'm just pointing out that that's not factual - also - not everyone who claims asylum is granted it

I didn’t say millions in one year and you haven’t included illegal migration that we don’t have a number on

Moonshadowmoon · 21/02/2026 10:49

Sirzy · 21/02/2026 10:46

Ever thought they may be trying to escape from the regimes over there?

Probably not because the left and woke constantly tell them that they are victims and that because of institutional racism they will never succeed thereby destroying hope.

The real racists are the left and woke destroying hope by constantly bringing up skin colour, rather than a colour blind approach and judging people on the content of their character and achievements rather than the colour of their skin.

Yes that's right - all left wingers are racist - not Farage and Co

the school I went to was majority white and the small number of black and brown kids were treated just like everyone else.

I wonder if those black and brown kids would agree with you.

No One has ever said other groups of men can’t be sex offenders.
Most just point out it’s probably not a good idea to let in millions of men from countries where women are forbidden from doing practically anything and wife beating is legal is not a good idea.

The evidence is there. Obviously there are class factors involved, uncomfortable though that may be. The two are linked. Voting for right wing/far right wing parties is complex and linked to systemic disadvantage. I hate to see the likes of Reform use their exploitative tactics and rhetoric to persuade people to vote against their own interests.

Make up your mind is it privileged rich whites voting reform or lowly disadvantaged peasants?

Or maybe just normal people who don’t agree with mass immigration?

Why do you think there might be refugees from places with oppressive regimes?

Sirzy · 21/02/2026 10:40

Focusing on one group of men only as perpetrators of sexual abuse is actually exceptionally dangerous as it means those who aren’t part of that demographic will be seen as less of a risk and that’s when safeguards start to fail.

sexual offenders aren’t restricted to one ethnicity, or lifestyle or anything else.

It has most definitely not been found time and time again that people become more right wing with age. What happens time and time again is that people just say this.

The influential factor is reproduction. And, being humble and intelligent yourself, @Moonshadowmoon you will know that more and more people are not reproducing

I’d rather staple my tits to a beehive than vote for those shit houses. I can’t be arsed to list the reasons why I hate Reform and everything they stand for. Rupert Lowe and whatever his new party is called get the same response from me btw.

Well I’ve got three kids and had my first when I was 16, a lot of other people my age still live with their parents and spend their days doom scrolling in bed and know practically nothing about the world. I stopped letting people like that lecture me on how mean and nasty I am years ago

PandoraSocks · 21/02/2026 10:39

A lot of educated women know about grooming gangs and know how women are treated in Afghanistan and Pakistan etc and don’t want that for their children

Well presumably they aren't going to send their children to either of those countries, then? So not sure what your point is @Moonshadowmoon ?

FriendlyGreenAlien · 21/02/2026 10:38

I was never going to vote for them anyway.

ForWittyTealOP · 21/02/2026 10:38

Moonshadowmoon · 21/02/2026 10:16

Arrogant of you to describe yourself as educated and intelligent to be honest. It’s also been found time and time again that younger people (ie with less life experience and wisdom) vote for more left wing parties and become more right wing with age.

It's not arrogant. It's factual.

That makes so much sense (on a population level - I have kids and have if anything become more elft wing as I age).

pointythings · 21/02/2026 10:21

The trend of people becoming more right wing with age is nowhere near as strong as it used to be - in the last GE, the age where the majority switched from left to right had risen to 65 - 70 whereas it had previously sat at around 40 - 45. As people become better educated, they see parties like Reform for what they are: lazy, incompetent grifters solely out to line their own pockets, blowing out cheap promises like so much hot air.
The reason they are doing well in the polls is that older people are more likely to go out and vote. And even there, they are doing less well than they were three months ago. They are starting to lose council elections because people can see what Reform councils are doing.

re age related trend - this was only observed in the last election and only because of very strong anti Tory sentiment. 40-65yo are traditionally Tory age group, but in 2024 conservatives were sort of non existent, so this group went for Labor. What is also surprising is that youngsters, 16-18, are supporting Reform in large enough numbers, so Labor decision might come back and bite them.

But I agree with you about people waking up to Reform. I even think that Reform doing well in May local elections would be a good thing - more people would see what they truly are, and by next GE Reform would be dead.
And I really really hope that far right Tory who destroyed the party will defect to Reform leaving Kemi with a proper centrist-right party, so they are back in 2029.

An international research team says it has found evidence that parenthood is associated with conservative attitudes.

Having children, not growing old, makes you more right-wing—especially in the U.S. | Fortune

Study suggests that maternal and paternal behaviors, not getting older, prompt shifts in social attitudes.

We’re also not silly enough to know that it’s MEN that are the issue, not just brown men like Reform are happily leading their sheep to believe. We know that rich white men are far more dangerous and would have far more power and be untouchable under a Reform government while everyone else suffers 🙃
