Silly clothes-washing argument

If your partner/spouse bringing the laundry basket downstairs to wash, would you expect her to be upset if you picked out only your clothes and put them on to wash while she was out walking the dog before work?

Or is my DP just a dickhead?

In our house it's a case of whoever sees the basket is getting full mentions it and whoever goes downstairs first does it. Then we try and muster up the energy to hang it up. I do darks and lights so no dividing into different people.

He's been a dickhead.

Unless there was a good reason - like packing for a business trip so he needed his clothes cleaned urgently - it's ridiculous to only wash his clothes and leave yours behind.

Unless they thought they were being helpful by separating out colours/whites and then giving preference to their clothing which fell into the one of the two areas then I would wonder why they had suddenly decided to be selfish. Seems a weird effort to go to when much quicker just to bung the whole load in together.

if his clothes picking goes against the norm in your house, he is being unreasonable.

have you asked him why?

Sorry, rambled too much and confused my sentence subjects.

I'm the wife. My husband saw me bring the mixed load down, then while I was out, picked out only his things and put them on to wash.

We normally just take turns doing washing, never separate by person.

So what was his reason for switching it up this time?

The person picking out the clothes is a dickhead

Do you usually do washing? Or does she usually wash everyone’s clothes
