Lack of intimacy and stomach problems.

My husband said to me the other day he keeps seeing posts on social media about how a lack of intimacy can cause stomach problems for men (which he has been getting). He asked if i had been getting them too, or anything along the lines of how important intimacy is. I know it is.

I gave birth to our 4th child just over 3 weeks ago. Towards the end of the pregnancy i was having a lot of pain, braxton hicks and i also had thrush all the way through the pregnancy. We did have sex throughout but the last month i dont think we did anything because i was just too uncomfortable. I did him a few times before baby arrived but since his arrival ive been more focused on surviving the newborn days with a 6, 4 & 2 year old also.

Is there any truth behind the claims or is he pulling my leg?

I would love to see scientific papers on this too!

Lol do all single people have stomach issues then? Cos you often wouldn't have sex for weeks. Hell, me and my fiance often go 2 weeks and we have no kids, life is busy. Neither of us have problems as a result.

Bikergran · 17/02/2026 14:52

Yeah, stomach problems like when you punch him in the gut for being such a dickhead.

HoppingPavlova · 17/02/2026 14:51

And what medical journal was that amazing fact in? None. Because it’s not true. Your DH is revolting.

duckfordinner · 17/02/2026 14:50

You are being unreasonable that you having children with a man like him. I’m sure this isn’t a first red flag.

Foundress · 17/02/2026 14:50

I would be booking him in for an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy preferably without any anaesthetic.

HomeTheatreSystem · 17/02/2026 14:47

Tell him you read an article which said that pushing a watermelon into a man's anus has been shown to cure their stomach problems in 98.2% of cases.

JHound · 17/02/2026 14:46

He's full of sh*t.

Superfoodie123 · 17/02/2026 14:44

Wow I'd fall out of love instantly after this alone

MiniCoopers · 17/02/2026 14:44

Please don’t fall for this nonsense, of course he’s not read an article on stomach issues due to lack of sex.

Happyjoe · 17/02/2026 14:44

He's manipulative.
He's pressuring you, even without a new born this isn't ok.
Tell him to go get a sock.

Bloomin heck, not much surprises me anymore but this one has.

FatCatPyjamas · 17/02/2026 14:42

Is he a bit dim, OP? I'm trying to be generous here and assume that he's genuinely been taken in by some bollocks on insta, rather than being a manipulative dickhead.

roseymoira · 17/02/2026 14:42

A vasectomy is a much less invasive procedure than having your tubes tied, your body has been through enough

Please post the links to these articles I’d love to read them 🤣

ReturnOfTheToad · 17/02/2026 14:41

When I was having stomach problems my first step was to go the GP not suggest to my husband that we should be having more sex.

Pepperedpickles · 17/02/2026 14:40

I think he’s totally out of order for saying this to you - regardless of whether it’s true or not (not) it’s a nasty way of putting pressure on you 3 WEEKS after you’ve given birth! What the fuck!

Mulledjuice · 17/02/2026 14:38

He has a 6, 4, 2 yr old and a 3 week old baby.

He should be pulling his weight at home sooooo hard and so often to look after you and the kids that he should be far too tired for anything except perhaps a quick wank.

Has he always been gullible?

Barney16 · 17/02/2026 14:38

Complete nonsense. There is however a causal link between being a complete twat and having a poorly tummy. His tummy is turning itself over and over, completely beside itself at his nonsense.

CabbageWater · 17/02/2026 14:37

tillylula · 17/02/2026 14:05

He did say there is no pressure to have sex and i can wait til i feel ready. I said intimacy can be spending time together and cuddling but in the articles it says that it has to be actual sex

"the articles" 🙄🙄🤨🤨🤨🤨 men will really invent any old shit to try and get sex, slimy pigs.
Even if those stupid fucking articles exist, they'll be fabricated by such stupid men.

YouAreTheCauseOfMyHeadache · 17/02/2026 14:36

Tell him that liars give you the shits.

Topjoe19 · 17/02/2026 14:34

Won't he get a vasectomy?

tillylula · 17/02/2026 14:33

Thank you for the replies, some of them have cheered me up while im feeling miserable today 😆

I plan to get my tubes tied as soon as i can though worried because im breastfeeding and dont want having it done to affect this or my baby starve while im in there!

OP posts:
Topjoe19 · 17/02/2026 14:33

Men are the pits.

SisterMaryImmaculate · 17/02/2026 14:27

His stomach problems are likely caused by the fact his entire digestive tract is exactly like the rest of him- full of shit.
Imagine guilt-tripping your very recently post-partum wife like this. Call him out on his bullshit.

toomuchfaff · 17/02/2026 14:19

Tell him to have a wank.

Tell him that him telling you a lack of intimacy is a reason for his stomach pain when you're 3 weeks after popping a human out your floof is actually making your vajajay clamp shut and he won't be getting any intimacy until he becomes a regulated adult human being capable of thinking with his brain instead of his testicles

And more importantly, start your contraception birth control today so you don't happen to fall pregnant to this neanderthal again when you give in to the manipulative pressure and have sex.
