Let me spell this out very clearly for the hard of thinking

Men commit 99% of all rapes and sexual assaults.

Men (and young men) commit 95-98% of school shootings.

Men commit 90% of all violent crime in the UK.

These are not female crimes, and should never, ever be reported - or recorded - as such. It can safely be assumed in any of the above circumstances that a male person was the perpetrator.

OP posts:

But you can only commit the legal definition of rape if you have a penis. So 100% of rapes are committed by men not 98%. What's the other 2%?

In the UK a woman can and has been convicted of rape as a joint enterprise

Scotland has a special section to allow a female with cosmetic alterations to be charged as if she were male and had a penis.

MrThorpeHazell · 13/02/2026 17:44

I am sorry, but I do not see the point of your post?

It is possible, but amazingly rare, for a woman to be prosecuted for rape.

Women occasionally commit these crimes - but at a way lower rate to point it is new worthy as so unusal.

Women usually have very different patterns of behavior with crime - different crimes and motivations- and having accurate stats helps us understand what's driving the behavior and how to prevent going forward.

Also accuracy helps keep the general population safer and non accuracy breeds distrust in media and news outlets.

What tipped me off was the many news reports coyness around sex language of latest perpetrator rather then the balance of probablity of the sex of the perpetrator.

I'm a man, also an armchair criminologist, yes you are correct, there has always been a higher number of male criminals than female. And male criminals vastly outnumber female in certain categories or methods of crime.

But I'm curious as to why you are making this point, which everyone with even a cursory interest in crime and its causes has known pretty much forever?

Edited

Posters on this very thread have claimed women are just as violent.

I don't think OP's post is perfectly written, but I guess she is frustrated- as am I- by the immense level of NAMALTING on a largely women's site.
Every time a horrific crime is committed- Epstein Files, the nursery worker abuse, BC shooting- a flood of posters will rush forth to say how nice their Nigel is.
I bet no one on DadsNet is rushing forth to say how nice their Nigella is!

Quite.
I love my husband and our sons to death. My grandad was one of the best, most honourable men I've ever known. My brother in law is a thoroughly decent chap...
None of that means the truth isnt "not all men but almost always men"
Having genuinely great men in my life doesn't make me want to deny the truth of male violence.

Women don’t commit violent crime, on the whole. Women are in prison for lesser crimes.

I’ve clearly failed to explain this in simple enough terms. Still.

You’re wasting your time. They probably vote reform too as they also don’t seem to be able to understand statistics, facts and evidence.

LOL, this is so true! Men would never dare to defend us like we do for them. We can be our worse enemies.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 13/02/2026 17:38

Only ten per cent of the entire prison population is female.

Of these women, only ten per cent have been convicted of violent crimes.

Yes they do, honestly please stop with the gaslighting. Men rape, men shoot, men commit violent crime.

ThejoyofNC · 13/02/2026 16:44

Maybe we should fill the women's prisons with men then? Seeing as they're just sat there empty.

You know there are non violent crimes? Also what 99% means? Also that many women are in prison directly and indirectly as a result of men’s behaviour.

Motheroftheb · 13/02/2026 17:36

Manymoresometimes · 13/02/2026 17:18

Whats the point of this post?

The point of the post is that there’s been yet ANOTHER violent crime been committed by a bloke, and it’s been reported all over the world for two days as being committed by “a female in a dress”

RichardOnslowRoper · 13/02/2026 17:36

Oh yes, drag out the holy trilogy of Myra Hindley, Rose West and Aileen Wuornos again to claim women are as violent as men. So few women serial killers we remember their names.
Can't recall a single woman shooter, but am sure the NAMALTERS will find one after much combing.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 13/02/2026 17:36

Men (and young men) commit 95-98% of school shootings

I don't know of any school shooting in the UK or Ireland since Dunblane, 30 years ago. Maybe there are more but none that I know of and I have a quick Google to confirm. The perpetrator was a man in his 40s, so statistically speaking you could say men in their 40s commit 100% of school shootings in the UK in the past 30 years. One could also argue that men called Thomas are responsible for 100% of school shootings since the internet became mainstream.

Please explain OP, are you basing this on worldwide stats? Are you looking at US stats? Why then post on this site without context. For a thread that's supposed to spell things out very clearly, this is particularly obtuse.

And the reason everyone knows those names is because it is so rare that women do it, we remember each and every one.

And before Rosemary West came along, the one name people came up with was Myra Hindley

The fart I did yesterday morning was definitely male. I think it had a beard.

Well yes because OP has failed to make her point clearly.

I would argue that her point was clearly understood and what's actually going on is nothing to do with not understanding what she meant.

Cheese55 · 13/02/2026 17:30

yetanotherusernameAgain · 13/02/2026 17:11

It can safely be assumed in any of the above circumstances that a male person was the perpetrator.

No it can't. There's a strong likelihood that the perpetrator was male but it's not a forgone conclusion.

There was a case a couple(?) of years ago of a particularly brutal murder (I think the body was dismembered) and there was a thread of people waiting for the announcement that the perpetrator was a transwoman. Which never came, because the killer was in fact a woman.

Just because you remember a case when a woman committed a violent crime does not take away from the high % of men being the perpetrators. It's not being said it's 100% male.

TheMorgenmuffel · 13/02/2026 17:29

Why is it so frightening to accept that the majority of sexual crimes and extremely violent crimes are committed by men?

IkeaJesusChrist · 13/02/2026 17:28

TheMorgenmuffel · 13/02/2026 17:27

Is the word more important than the point?

Well yes because OP has failed to make her point clearly.

SugarandSpiceandAllThingsNaice · 13/02/2026 17:25

And OP also said
It can safely be assumed in any of the above circumstances that a male person was the perpetrator. (above circs being rape, sexual assault and all violent crimes)

It is this bit that a lot of us are objecting to. She really should have said presumed, not assumed.

Is the word more important than the point?

Pineneedlesincarpet · 13/02/2026 17:27

CharlieEffie · 13/02/2026 17:15

Its 98% rapes actually. And this is those prosecuted. So those who feel able to come forward. Statistically men who are assaulted by women are less likely to report due to feelings of shame etc.

Also if these werent "female" crimes the statistics would be 100% of these crimes committed by men. To state that women are in prison for "lesser crimes" is ridiculous and untrue

But you can only commit the legal definition of rape if you have a penis. So 100% of rapes are committed by men not 98%. What's the other 2%?

TheMorgenmuffel · 13/02/2026 17:26

NotAnotherScarf · 13/02/2026 17:25

Myra Hindley, Rose West anyone. And let me guess you feed into Radio 4s Womans Hour line that women only commit crime to please men or because they are forced to?

Sorry violent behaviour is universal, I've seen enough women fighting to know that.

And the reason everyone knows those names is because it is so rare that women do it, we remember each and every one.
