To think the way MN lets anti trans extremists hijack a tragedy is pretty despicable

I’ve read several threads full of hate filled anti trans ideology diatribes with zero thoughts for the victims, Canadians upset asking for some empathy and making it clear they as a nation just need to grieve, anti trans hate speech….

Jumping on a human tragedy to push your extremist agenda whilst MN just sits back and lets it happen on multiple threads is as low as you can get.

One wonders how low MN is going to sink. It’s such an unpleasant place now. I guess all HQ cares about now is getting a good price in the sell off.

This isn’t about toilets and boys were killed too.

Yes, boys were killed, by a fellow male so mentally unstable he thought he was a female, and it would be recorded as a female crime.

That should make any reasonable person furious yet here you are using it as an opportunity to bore on about alleged trans hate. Im embarassed for you.

Ah yes of course.

I have to say it does tickle me that, although a huge gender critical anti-misogynist movement started on MN about 12 years ago, people STILL come on whining about “TERFs” and “Stop being hateful-uh” thinking they will be the ones to silence us.
Obviously thinks that MN is full of middle class dummies who only talk about baking and school shoes
Unfortunately for you OP, this forum has intelligent women concerned for women’s rights and we aren’t prepared to pretend that the Emporer is wearing no clothes. You don’t scare us by accusing us of being meanies. We are smarter than you are and know more of this subject. So no we won’t STFU. We will continue to talk until the cancer that is gender ideology, that is demonstrably SO harmful, is stamped out of normality.

Yes they are

That is very different from the image of itself that Canada projected until recently.

I would guess that the proximity to the US means there are more guns in circulation than the UK, but it’s my speculation.

Totally agree. There are zero morals in allowing this stuff. The blatant discrimination (not just relating to trsnsgeneder but sexism and racism is rife too) throughout this site is rife but there is no attempt to stop it. Goady posts make money. I honestly don't know how social media owners and moderators sleep. As a platform, it is perpetuating fear and division that in turn impacts on mental health and a broken society. But, you know, as long as they make a bit of cash, that's ok apparently.

What are you banging on about?

Are we supposed to ignore the fact that trans identifying males are hugely over represented as school shooters? Who does that serve?

Are those figures correct?

Canada two thirds the population of the UK but with half again as many murders?

Yes they are

Jumping on a human tragedy to push your extremist agenda

common decency means the victims is all anybody should be thinking about not glee that it’s a great opportunity to push extremist ideology.

That's another irony meter exploded and it's only 8am. I need to start buying them in bulk.

If a bear, affected by an illness exacerbated by eating drugs, had killed ten people in a small Canadian town, talking about the bear and what had happened to it would not be showing disrespect to the victims. If there had been an increase in this sort of bear attack in North America over the last decade, talking about that would be reasonable.

If the media started describing the dangerous animal as a moose, complaining about that would also be reasonable.

Something very dangerous has been happening. Denying that will not make it go away.

And it wouldn't be anti-bear, though it might be (justifiably) bear-phobic.

I just looked up intentional homicide rates. UK is 1 per 100,000 people, Canada is 2. So Canada has twice the UK's rate.

I would guess that the proximity to the US means there are more guns in circulation than the UK, but it’s my speculation.

jeaux90 · 13/02/2026 08:17

This is not about persecuting this is about making sure everyone knows this is not a crime committed by a woman. Not. Our. Crime.

Many many teens are mentally ill:- straight, gay, ND, those with SEN…. the faux concern re trans teens really doesn’t cut it.

It’s not about caring about MH provision but persecuting the trans community.

Excuse me?

We've spent a decade warning people that affirmation and no exploration of mental health issues behind 'trans' whatever that is, is destroying people.

The difference with the 'trans community' as you call it, is exactly what you are doing here which is seperating them out and refusing to let anyone talk about it.

Medical professionals who do not affirm in Canada are finished, hounded, harassed and either have to move away or face years of abuse and thats just from their own professional organisations. Let alone the activists and their threats.

DeanElderberry · 13/02/2026 08:11

NumbersGuy · 13/02/2026 07:31

The supposition that all trans persons are mentally unwell is a continuing opinion for many people, no matter what the age. Unfortunately what will happen is nothing because people will be focusing on the fact this individual was trans identifying. It will never be known as to the actual reason(s) they committed such a horrendous act, but what's more distressing is the fact a teenager without enough mental wellness checks by adults in their environment could have possibly prevented this tragedy with the loss of so many lives.

The UK recorded only 499 homicides ending the year in September 2025, 45 were done by juveniles under the age of 18. Canada had 72 juveniles commit homicides, out of 788 in 2024. Mental health checks for young people are needed to avoid this type of tragedy. It's also never helpful for ANYONE to use associate people who are different than society's standards, should be labeled with some mental imbalance. Without some drastic changes for more mental health wellness for ALL young people, this will just increase. There will always be people who thrive on hating on others and never take accountability for their actions, as you can never fix ugly on the inside.

Are those figures correct?

Canada two thirds the population of the UK but with half again as many murders?

Why do you correct posters talking about the victims being “women and children” by pointing out that boys were killed too? Boys are children.

5128gap · 13/02/2026 07:52

Blu3Shoes · 13/02/2026 07:41

Many many teens are mentally ill:- straight, gay, ND, those with SEN…. the faux concern re trans teens really doesn’t cut it.

It’s not about caring about MH provision but persecuting the trans community.

So, when someone says that trans people are more likely to suffer with their MH, to feel suicidal, and wants society to see this as a problem it must solve by providing physical medical interventions and changing sex based provisions, your response would be "Oh no, many teens suffer with their mental health. No need for any specific actions here...."?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/02/2026 07:52

The radicalisation aspect also needs to be looked at. People don’t seem to have any problem doing that when it’s “incel” culture or far right radicalisation.

FMLGFastMovingLuxuryGoods · 13/02/2026 07:52

Only in the heads of misogynists is it “hateful” to state that men can’t be women.

But no OP I won’t pretend for anybody that a girl committed mass murder. It was a boy. The pretending bit clearly did no good for him anyway.

Your OP is just another way of saying “Women - STFU and #BeKind”. We don’t tolerate that crap around here mate, you’re on a forum with outspoken and intelligent women. Cry harder.

BreakingBroken · 13/02/2026 07:48

@Blu3Shoes people are being “vocal” about the inaccurate description NOT that he was trans. The police have a duty to all citizens to give an accurate description.
Inadequate complex MH provision and the gun access has also been highlighted as areas that need addressing.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/02/2026 07:44

As pp said pretending this is a teenage girl and not a boy is a lie. It’s not helpful to either wider society or these kids themselves. We will not stop talking about it, hope that’s crystal clear.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/02/2026 07:43

You don’t really have any arguments OP do you? Just “don’t talk about this, I don’t want to hear it”.

Blu3Shoes · 13/02/2026 07:41

Shedmistress · 13/02/2026 07:39

People who shoot their mothers, step brothers and school children are mentally unwell, yes.

Pretending this was a teenage girl, when it was a boy, is a lie.

The overlap between the mental health status and 'trans' what ever that is needs to be discussed, yes.

Why people are trying to pretend that the 'trans' whatever that is effect needs hushing up is mind-blowing.

Many many teens are mentally ill:- straight, gay, ND, those with SEN…. the faux concern re trans teens really doesn’t cut it.

It’s not about caring about MH provision but persecuting the trans community.
