Remembering my user name, I should say my husband and sons are largely men with good manners.

I tell my husband that even if he loses his mind as he ages, he should hold onto the one thought that when he walks around outside the house he should keep his mouth clamped firmly shut rather than having it gaping as so many old men do. I have said I will endeavour to do the same. Most of all, I dislike middle aged men who, despite plenty of evidence to the contrary, suddenly think they have developed a wit to rival Oscar Wilde and laugh at their own pathetic jokes - which are usually aimed at unamused women

In my early adult years, I was married to a controlling male that dumbed me down to a shadow of the woman I was really aching to be… that relationship came to an end, as I considered it to be a crime to live my (one) life in a state of misery and cowering.

Years and years later, after I’d tried to be in relationships that nourished me, and failing, I finally met a man who is everything to me and I’m finally who I’m meant to be.

He told me years ago that he thought men could (and usually are) be disgusting, and he also believes that on the whole, women should be running the country and other organisations that affect the rest (the majority) of society.

I do know of decent guys that are quietly considerate, are lovely partners to their wives… but sadly, very few.

i can see why you have the opinion that you do, and if your up til now experiences have brought you to that conclusion, yanbu to have the opinion you express.

To other pp that have mostly experienced decent guys, well that’s so nice, but maybe because you have had that positive experience, it’s hard (impossible) for you to understand the OPs viewpoint.

OP, I’m sorry that you have not yet have had the joy of knowing a guy that you feel you can admire and respect… don’t give up hope.
I was probably like you, twenty five years ago, so I can see your point.

Try not to let your bad experiences cloud your view too much, coz the good guys shouldn’t bear the blame for the chaos that the bad (idiots) guys cause.

I find a lot of men dull, particularly the older ones. I can’t say I hate them, because I don’t like to make that kind of sweeping statement, but I don’t want or need their company or attention anymore. And I am sick of the old men ruining the world. And repulsed by their porn habits and violence of all ages of man.

I’m especially repulsed by a lack of care to finger and toe nails. The horrible claw like appearance of some men’s nails makes me shudder with disgust.

Same here. So interesting that 50 seems to be the age when this happens to many of us.

I’ve had to start standing on the train near the door as the amount of men with a cold who just need to blow their nose, but instead make disgusting noises makes me sick. I have 2 sons, but I of course love, but I do agree I find most men grim. I do need to tame my anti men comments in front of my 17yr old DD though.

My ex husband used to sit and clip his toenails on the sofa, put the clippings in his dressing gown pocket and leave them there so that when I unknowingly washed the dressing gown his toenail clippings would be all over and stuck to my clean washing.
Despite my disgusted reaction he never stopped.
Expect he is still doing it now but at least it isn’t my problem anymore.

What a horrible depressing sexist thread. So men hate women which society sees as unacceptable, but women hating men is ok?

My dh is lovely, we’ve been married for 28 years. I also have male friends who are kind, funny and respectful. I’ve had more issues with female friends in the past, some of whom have let me down or been bitchy or two faced. But that doesn’t lead me to think that the female sex is ‘bad’.

Everyone has some good and bad in them, male or female. I believe that most people are generally decent.

To be fair, people blocking items annoy me, if you want to browse, do so from a distance, don't block access to the item for those who just want to pick it up and buy it.

I think it's around 97/98% of sex crimes that men are responsible for. No, not all men are rapists and perverts but the vast majority of perverts, murderers, paedos, violent crime perpetrators and rapists are men.

I honestly think that, one day, when humanity is in dire straits, it might just be a good idea to assess them all, pick the good ones and castrate the rest. As much for their own good as for all the women and children of the world. I mean, we castrate problem dogs, cats and horses 😅

I agree. I abhor men as a whole. Reminds me of that Mary Poppins line "though we adore men individually, as a group we agree they're rather stupid". Although I'd change "stupid" to "repulsive".

A good proportion of those “good men” are leering at their neighbours’ teenage daughters while they mow the lawn, or watching exploitative porn while their wives are asleep, or making a young female employee uncomfortable because they can. Some of them just hide it better than others. And women get better at detecting it as they get older. If most women knew what most men were thinking, they’d rather live with a rattlesnake.

Unlike misogyny, "misandry" doesn't get men killed. No comparison.

I think there are plenty of reasons to dislike men but when you’re complaining about them sneezing and coughing and “just being there” in public, you’re starting to scrape the barrel.

I was in the supermarket earlier tonight and there were three women there together in their pyjamas and dressing gowns, unwashed hair tied up. I actually think some of the women I see in public disgust me more than some of the men, but maybe that’s just in my area of the country.

The OP is complaining about them sniffing but then another poster is complaining about them blowing their nose.
