Attended one yesterday as a bridesmaid. The brides cousin was also a bridesmaid, spent the whole morning clearly aggrieved that the day wasn't about her... smoked in the getting ready suite and had to be told to put it out, then lit up again and claimed she had forgotten when the bride told her and made a snarky comment..then presented her silver converse she had customised to wear with her dress as she "doesn't really do heels"... the bride ignored her and sweetly said "at this point I don't think I can stop you" as she knows what she's like then what do you know, she wears the heels! There were loads of instances like this all day and she is 28 but seemed to want to just be am inconvenience all day which I assume was jealousy...even little things like being late for photos and pretending not to hear when called over, pushing the food round her plate, really ungracious behaviour. The wedding was fantastic! She could have really enjoyed it much more. Not really an aibu but whats the worst behaviour youve seen like this?

Cousin’s husband kept disappearing during the Wedding Breakfast Breakfast to do coke in the toilets. Then got so shitfaced he spent the rest of the day and evening face down farting on a sofa in the hotel’s reception area.

And what would he do if there were only Cornettos in the freezer?

There are always some sausages.

My wedding ceremony was delayed because my in laws were over an hour late. It was a 3pm ceremony. Their excuse? They were cleaning the Airbnb before check out.

Friend of the groom whipped his penis out, put it in a bread roll, buttered it and went round the tables offering it to old ladies.
Whaaaat??? Oh my! That’s comically bad. And horrifying.

I think it's horrifying. I'm sorry - I just think it crosses a line. Par for the course amongst horrible blokes in their own little bubble, but when a man starts exposing himself to women (esp elderly ones, and I expect there were children about) that is not funny in my book. It's indecent exposure, lewd behaviour and verging on a sexual assault.

Sorry - but this one really makes me angry. People stripping off is one thing - but he was actually offering a penis to strangers to touch...eeuuww. Seriously gross, perverted and borderline crimina.

It probably never happened, so I wouldn’t get too worked up about it!

Mine's very tame compared to some of these.
One of my friends was getting married, she hadn't seen her older brother (who was a perfectly nice bloke, but unfortunately a barely functioning alcoholic) in years, but her mam insisted she invite him to the wedding.
He was a no show for the church service or the afternoon reception, but we found out later that he'd been seen sitting in a pub just along the road from the church, accompanied by a crate of brown ale.
About halfway through the evening 'do' the door to the room opened and he popped his head in, looking bemused, and beckoned his older sister over.
The conversation went something like:
Him: "Where's our XXX?" (his younger sister, the bride!)
His older sister: "Over there. The one in the white dress."
It was such a shame. He said his hellos, then sat in a corner getting blitzed, and was later helped into a taxi by the best man.

This is really sad.

Omg that poor man, what a horrible woman. Not what the essence of a wedding is about at all!

That was cold. I'd leave too, and probably cry.

🤣🤣 That's so funny! I can sympathise 🍇 🍇. Pharmacist told me to stick the haemorrhoids suppositories in the freezer. so he was on the right track. I hope it was a Zoom or ice pop for ease of entry.

When DD was a baby a mate of my ex’s once asked me if I had any sudocreme. Me what do you want suddcrem for? Him I’ve got piles.😂😂😂 DD had a bad reaction to it as a newborn so not used it since. But the thought of him putting it on his backside then putting his fingers back in the tub. I wouldn’t have let him use it anyway.

Agree re the roll story - this sort of thing used to happen regularly among a group of army based friends - also penises out in formal photos, draped over people's shoulders etc. (just to be clear - I was not participating! but it doesn't surprise me or seem completely unbelievable for that sort of social group)

Edited

My mind is now filled with images of penises gracefully draped over people's shoulders like a stylish accessory.

The best man was the groom’s flatmate. He culminated his speech with a story of the groom coming home drunk one night and being discovered by the other flatmates squatting on the kitchen floor with his pants down, trying to push ice lollies up his bum. Apparently he suffered from piles.

I've just had a coughing fit laughing at this. The mental image.... 😂

Horrendous timing and awful for the bride - but I'm quite envious! Of the erring couple to have experienced this, and you for having witnessed it.

Post-menopause I just can't even get my head around this. Whatever switch people have that makes them potentially vulnerable to such goings on is firmly switched off!

Those who don’t believe the penis in roll story… I’ve been to enough military and rugby events with young men to know this sort of behaviour can be quite common place. Not acceptable. But not unbelievable.

To the poster with the twins and others…I too am not without sin. At my sisters wedding I got absolutely hammered (first night out and alcohol since dd was born- she was 10 months old and staying with grandparents).

It was a Catholic wedding as his family were and the priest attended the reception. Apparently I was talking very loudly about theology and my problems with the Catholic Church (women, abortion, homophobia etc) while the priest and all the elderly catholic relatives were on next table.

The next day everyone asked if I felt alright 🫣.

My sister found it funny, holds no grudges.

Bride's (bride aged 35) parents had split up and divorced years ago, but they seemed to get on OK and bride had a close relationship with both. Turned sour during wedding preparation as expenses going up and bride wanted more and more money from father (my brother) for which he'd already taken a loan out for agreed costs....wedding day comes, she gets her mum's boyfriend (together a year!) to walk her down the aisle at the last minute, seats her dad three rows back, and her mum's boyfriend to do a speech alongside her - which mentioned thanks to everyone but her dad, despite him having paid for the whole thing. He left quietly after the reception, and she told him he had 'ruined her day' by leaving...

Omg that poor man, what a horrible woman. Not what the essence of a wedding is about at all!

Affects...effects
Its...it's

Fewer cheeky bumps and a bit more spelling practice is in order for you I think.... plus a little bit of light reading about the devastation and destruction to communities that is caused by the cocaine industry...just saying..

She caveated with 'not from a moral perspective'.

She didn't state that she was a cocaine user.

She basically said that coke keeps you awake and stops alcohol having a huge effect on people. Which is a fair point and explains why taking it to go through a long day of tiring activity coupled with alcohol is a decision that those who DO take cocaine, often make.

In case you think that my defence of her post means I am also a cocaine user, I am not and never have been.

There’s been a ton over the years. Many within my own family can’t get into those as completely outing. But think fights. Decades ago I used to work in a bar that held wedding receptions every wedding had something. Far too many drunk people, fights, rows, nasty friends I assume jealous of the bride, swearing, yelling, proper punch ups, people leaving with different person than they came with. I always felt so sorry for the brides….I am yet to marry lol

They should ban booze completely… my cousin was. Complete and utter something because he likes his booze at a family wedding .. I’d never seen that side of him before and I let it be known that the hurtful things he said to me that he already knew were sensitive issues in the family as we were following the happy couple into the church were never goin to be forgotten … I’ve never felt the same since about him … heartbroken… srill
cant believe his mouth to this day …I was close very close to his dear Mum and Dad and only talk to him for them ❤️.. not lots but still engage here and there

his wife just as bad .. totally blanked me at their sons wedding and my uncles funeral .. even though I greeted her with open arms at the wedding we hosted .. booze … booze booze ..they don’t call it the “demon “ drink for nothing

faffadoodledo · 11/02/2026 14:54

My former brother in law turned up at my wedding, at which my sister, his then gf was bridesmaid in dreadlocks and scruffy clothes (he's white). He did it to irritate my parents (and sadly succeeded, and partially ruined their day). This was the early nineties, and he looked like he should have been on a road protest. Total lack of respect. He went on to milk them for money, and my sister too, before running off with someone else.

This is the second time in this thread that you have tried to excuse away bad behaviour with a whole host of made up scenarios. You did it about the very first post 'maybe she had anxiety' and you're doing it again now. Why?

Projection ? That what I’ve assumed.
