Sorry if I missed a thread, but has anyone else seen this?

It’s fucking disgusting.

I thought nothing this man could do would shock me anymore, how can he still be in office?

The democrats as well need to take responsibility moving to the left as far as they have in a country petrified by communism was a bad move and a course they haven’t corrected - they need to move much more to the centre for eh future of the US

That's absolute nonsense @tiswa - Harris did not run a leftwing campaign. You couldn't get much closer to the centre than she was. The Democrats are certainly further to the right than the Labour Party, who are hardly firebrands of socialism themselves. It's that the Republicans have lurched all the way over towards outright fascism that makes people forget where the centre actually is. Please don't blame those still in touch with sanity for the excesses of the right!

CarelessWimper · 06/02/2026 20:22

Even if for one second you didn’t believe this was racist (which is insane) but how can anyone thing this was awful cartoon was worthy of being posted by a sitting President? I know there are claims it was posted by someone else but I don’t think anyone believes that after the rest of Trumps deranged posts about such important matters such as why Sydney Sweeney is hot, or why he hates Taylor Swift or Ellen or Rosie ODonnell or which other important matters he is thinking about.

It's disgusting but the racism is an integral part of his brand. It's one of the things that his supporters voted for, isn't it?

And everyone else is probably too scared to speak out against him, so he can do what he likes, I guess.

The US has descended into a cesspit. The country that it used to be has gone.

Yup. The entire world is reshaping its view of global politics to remove the US from its position of power. Putin must be wanking himself into a frenzy over how well this has worked out for him.

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 06/02/2026 20:14

Carla786 · 06/02/2026 19:29

I suspect a lot of Republicans don't like him but are intimidated by his cultish base. Political violence in US has only escalated recently

Absolutely. "He who rides the tiger is afraid to dismount." There's a lot of Republicans in congress and the senate who They jumped on to MAGA thinking it'd be their way to power. And, to be fair to them, they weren't wrong. There's a substantial list of them who were against Trump at first then bent the knee when it meant they got a chance of sticking their snouts in the trough, J D Vance being a prime example.

Quite how they manage to get off the MAGA train remains to be seen. Marjorie Taylor Greene's already made the jump but we'll have to see how good her timing was.

Sadcafe · 06/02/2026 19:54

It’s Trump, he’s just vile, no other way to describe him. Obama wasn’t perfect as a president but he is as far removed from Trump as man is to an amoeba

LizzieW1969 · 06/02/2026 19:51

I reported it, just before it was deleted. But the poster should be banned too, I agree absolutely with that.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 06/02/2026 19:03

Apparently a rouge member of staff is responsible. He’s a lunatic. It’s been removed.

I don't believe that for one moment.

He retweeted it twice apparently

@MNHQ, please can you just ban @sidebirds with immediate effect. There is surely no place for racists like this on MN.

I agree.

Totally disgusting

Let's remember Danny Baker lost his career for portraying H&M's child as a monkey

I think if your post is deleted whilst a post comparing the Obamas to "trained monkeys" remains, it will be a travesty.

Absolutely. I will echo the call for the racist poster to fuck off. Despicable.

A real and successful pot shot is needed. Sorry I am stooping so low by saying that, but I've reached the end of my tether now.

And I know, I know.... look who will be in his place. But I'll take that chance TBH.

An assassination wouldn't solve anything. The people behind Trump are still there. The people who voted for Trump are still there.

The problem is much bigger than one narcissistic man in the early stages of dementia.

PermanentTemporary · 06/02/2026 19:31

It would be nice if every footballer and football manager simply refused to go to the US for the Workd Cup to buff the arse of that man.

Quite prepared to have this post removed for making a personal attack, but before that happens: FUCK OFF.

Racist and vile

I feel his downfall has to come from within the Republican party and lets hope the collectively join to rid themselves of this person who isn't and never was fit to be president

I suspect a lot of Republicans don't like him but are intimidated by his cultish base. Political violence in US has only escalated recently

That boot you're so enthusiastically licking must taste really good.

I really, really hope that Dominion has issued defamation proceedings against Trump. Given the fact that the claims of election fraud have been so comprehensively debunked, surely that's got to be worth a few billion in damages?

Sadly, there was already precedence that meant that if you tried to sue the sitting US president then your civil case would be stayed until after he was out of office. The reasoning was that his job was so important that he couldn't have his time wasted sitting in court giving evidence. (There's a large number of people who have suggested that part of Trump's motivation in running for president again was to stay a huge bunch of in-progress and impending lawsuits, Dominion's included.)

There was also precedence that said that the sitting president is immune to a bunch of civil and federal prosecution for what they do while they're in office. That's what impeachment is for, but impeachment is quite vague ("high crimes and misdemeanours") and has a high bar for success. Plus once it was stuffed with MAGA appointees the US Supreme Court expanded the immunity from prosecution quite considerably during his presidency. The US Constitution's checks, balances and norms really wasn't prepared for the kind of outright calculated assault that we've seen since 2016.

WhereAreWeNow · 06/02/2026 19:01

Absolutely @Moen . I thought I was past being shocked by Trump but I was genuinely shocked by this. Despicable.

LakieLady · 06/02/2026 18:37

Totally agree.

Sadly, with the rising popularity of Reform, it seems to be getting more common, or maybe just more overt.

Reform? Shockingly 'racist' with their Pakistani Muslim chairman and Egyptian Muslim candidate for London mayor 🤔

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 06/02/2026 13:03

But there's plenty of racism in the UK to deal with.

The constant commenting on the USAs issues just distracts from dealing with our own.

But objecting to racism in the US doesn't stop us from objecting to racism here. It's not an either/or.

I can't see how anyone could fail to see portraying black people as monkeys as racist. Of course it's racist.

deadsockholiday · 06/02/2026 18:56

I imagine its related to this. Not sure if the link will work but basically an Obama and Trump spat in 2011 where Trump accused Obama of not being American. He (Obama) showed his birth certificate and the talk he gives references the Lion King.

Gotta love Obama for his classy speech and detest Trump for, well, just everything...
