To feel the loss. Twinless twin

I was born an identical twin. My twin passed away a day after we were born. Im not sure if its because I dont really have many people in my life and no family really. But I always felt there was a nice of me missing and I wish she could have been hwre. When things are hard I think if her. I feel a bit guilty too that im the one who lived.
Am I totally crazy?
Is anyone else a twinless twin.

I'm not a twin but I am a mom to identical twin baby boys who died two years ago. My little 1st twin was born sleeping and my second boy died three days later in the NICU.

What you are feeling is pure love and loss for your sister. Are you part of footprints twin loss group on facebook? It's private and They welcome all types of twin loss. You will meet like minded people there. I'm so sorry for your loss xxx

Edited

I’m very sorry darling

You're not being unreasonable at all. This is supposed to be a fairly common thing with twins who lost their twin in childbirth.

Elvis had a twin who died at birth (Jesse Garon Presley) and it's said that Elvis felt like a part of him was missing throughout his life.

Thats interesting. My husband often says I have adhd. Not sure if I do or not. Thank you for your reply and hope you find some resolution in your diagnosis if you decide to pursue one.

Thank you. Just reading up about ADHD and getting some good advice on working with it has been a game changer for me, so I'm not pushing for a formal diagnosis.

Wishing you all the best.

You have shown such grace in your responses to this person OP. They're not worth further engagement.

Growing up I often wondered if I had been meant to be a twin (there were several sets of twins in the family and it was before scans were a thing so my mum might never have known if she'd been pregnant with twins). I always felt like there was something missing, someone who might understand me. However, a few years ago I realised I may have ADHD, so I also wonder if some types of neurodiversity can lead to similar feelings.

Anyway, thank you for starting this thread. So many beautiful and sad stories in these posts and YANBU at all for feeling the way you do. I'm sorry for all the losses here.

Ill let you have your peace and stop responding. Maybe think about why you got so angry about this and perhaps there's other things too. Hurt people hurt people. Just love ❤️

I am not going to be 'compassionate and empathetic'. I think you are a nasty so and so who enjoys getting a rise out of people. Also, if you are so against 'empathy' why are you so sure of what the OP's mother felt and that she was so devastated by losing OP's twin? You can't even keep your unpleasantness consistent.
