I read it very much as sarcasm aimed at highlighting the inappropriate nature of some stuff that's on TV at the moment. Perhaps because she's a woman maybe, but that's very much how I read it.

It's interesting that you interpreted that statement as a joke, is it because she's a woman? When I first read it I thought she couldn't possibly mean it as it came across, and my giving the benefit of the doubt was definitely because she's a woman, but then she also described children's body parts as 'sexy', as well as other stuff that was jaw dropping - especially her advice to a 16 year old to kill herself. She's just a horrible person who's learned to pretend that she isn't.

Ahh OK, see I actually had interpreted that as a very badly worded attempt to use humour to highlight how inappropriate and creepy child pagents etc are rather than taking that as verbatim and assuming she actually felt that way. I feel like sometimes she tries to be funny and use dark humour to make a point but it lands badly.

I don't think there was ever any evidence that they had any links with epstein. Their names weren't featured in any visit logs and they haven't been photographed together. I did a Google there any it doesn't seem like that was ever actually evidenced in any way and she was very explicit in stating she would have nothing to do with him. So I'm not sure that's factual as opposed to rumor.

Obviously the harm that goes with that abuse runs very deep but I also kind of think that men like Epstein are going to operate on two levels - one level to entice equally bad agents who are on the same fucked up wavelength, but a second level which is actually grooming other adults to trust and invest in them in some way. Most child abuse starts with the adults around the child being groomed and there is a level of victimhood for those adults as well who are also (but in a very different way) taken advantage of and manipulated. So I don't think it's as clear cut as saying that every single person with ties to him are automatically awful. The difficulty is separating who falls into which category.

I mean, chrissy teigen also took accountability for herself, publicly acknowledged herself as trolling and apologised. She was early 20s at the time, is now 40... I think it's a bit much to expect that to be career ending.

I actually quite like her to be honest. Had to research what you're talking about but I've found her to be quite warts and all. She is tactless at times but I also feel that she owns that and will apologise where its due and I can respect that. Noone gets things right 100% of the time.

I also am not close to the person I was in my early 20s and wouldn't really like to be tarred with that brush for the rest of my life.

I think it's pretty disgusting tbh that any woman on here would even question her motivation for not immediately wanting to divulge the details of that to the press before she had had the chance to privately process her own loss around that.

I think this is a great example of holding someone to a higher standard than normal because they have celeb status and we therefore feel entitled to them in some way.

Plenty of celebrities have done awful things in the past, learnt from it and have done really well for themselves. Cheryl Cole being one.
