Mandelson appears to have committed treason- if so, he’s a traitor

If he gave away state secrets, he should go on trial and be jailed if found guilty.

Some are calling this the biggest betrayal of the country since Kim Philby.

Just think about about the public having to bail out the banks in 2008; the job losses, austerity, the way the standard of living plummeted and has never really recovered. Rich bankers made millions and then the public had to suffer to cover their mistakes. All the time Mandelson was acting as an asset of the bankers placed within the government, working against the interests of the people. He needs major consequences.

And that's before you get into all the very young men he seems to have procured like they were items on a menu, reducing them to their nationality or skin colour. Ugh. He's repellent.

Procuring young men? For himself or someone else? What's the source for that?

I wonder why my sarcastic post was deleted? It wasn't offensive, merely sarcastic.

Can you paraphrase it?

PeachOctopus · 04/02/2026 21:40

In effect Mandleson was part of Epstein’s network and was spying on the British government for them.

more interesting is that Morgan McSweeney led a coup against the Corbyn Left wing of Labour, funding arranged by Trevor Mann (20,000 donation not declared). Mandleson was shown the spreadsheet of possible candidates, they picked Starmer.
There’s a pro Isreal connection,

Sparklybutold · 04/02/2026 21:26

As is increasingly becoming obvious when rich men are involved, he will avoid everything.

Lovelyview · 04/02/2026 21:13

Yanbu. I thought I was quite a cynical person but I'm utterly shocked that a man in his position could kowtow to a paedophile like that. Utterly appalling.

Honestly, I feel like these two are being used as scapegoats for the rich filthy men! I want justice for the women and girls!

The British press is full of stories about Mandelson and AMW because they are British. The American news media mentions AMW because he's royalty but they are much more interested in Bill Gates trying to obtain antibiotics to surreptitiously feed to his wife because he caught an STD from a Russian sex worker.

There will be no justice for the women and girls who were trafficked and abused. No one is going to investigate where the missing girls went to. These are rich men, they feel they have a right to take whatever they want to satisfy their perversions. They will be protected by other rich powerful men. No one is going to prison. The trafficking never stopped and it won't stop. I would give anything to be wrong but rich powerful men have been getting away with despicable shit for forever. I don't see how or why this will be any different.

Agree. It feels like we are being dangled a couple of individuals to pay attention to while a whole load of other stuff is swept under the carpet
What they have done is heinous but I do not think they are anything more than a tip of the iceberg

What Mandelson has done is awful and unforgivable along with Fergie but has anybody noticed the two big stories at the moment in the Epstein saga is a gay man and a women!

Svunbun · 04/02/2026 20:36

So your contention is that if it’s believed someone has committed a criminal offence, they should be prosecuted and if guilt is established, they should receive an appropriate punishment, which may include a custodial sentence?

Revolutionary.

Livelovebehappy · 04/02/2026 20:09

The man is arrogant. Hes got away with so much previously. Been sacked twice but still managed to worm his way back in. And his arrogance has lead him to believe hes untouchable. I think this time he will get the book thrown at him. Starmer seems to have spent most of hisctime as PM having to try to defend his front benches and their bad behaviour. The party are rotten to the core.

Indeed. What hasn’t been released yet is notable.

Sofado · 04/02/2026 19:48

There’s no evidence of treason or giving away state secrets. That’s just ridiculous. It’s misconduct in public office or possibly insider trading, depending on the financial stuff.

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 04/02/2026 19:47

Oh, sorry Hector - you’d already posted on that

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 04/02/2026 19:46

Changed in 1998 to life imprisonment

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 04/02/2026 19:44

Is the penalty for treason still death? It was in the second World War I believe

oscilla · 04/02/2026 19:41

He might be on his way to a country that doesn't have an extradition treaty with UK as we speak. 😊I wouldn't be one bit surprised. Now where would that be I wonder....?

AgentPidge · 04/02/2026 19:41

I feel so angry that he took privileged info learned due to his Cabinet position and immediately (in one case, within four seconds!) emailed it to Epstein so that in return Epstein would scratch his back. Slimy creep. I really hope they do charge him with misconduct in public office. But yes, he could wriggle out of it, as he's done before, because he has info on others. There's a lot with their snouts in the trough.

Hector95 · 04/02/2026 19:40

A certain Tony Blair was PM in 1998 when the death penalty was abolished in the UK (including for treason)
Think he’s been mentioned a few times in the Epstein files too!

CruCru · 04/02/2026 19:35

He may be charged with misconduct in public office.

He did not plot to kill the monarch nor aid our enemies at time of war. So has not committed treason.

He would be subject to other offences

Well the Met have opened an investigation. I felt delighted for a moment at the thought he might be held to account but I suspect he won't and the cover up will continue.

Same

The extraordinary power behind these people shouldn’t be underestimated

ACynicalDad · 04/02/2026 18:52

Hope he will end up in jail, but wouldn't be surprised if he did an Epstein when he's in there. There's more to come out.
