Romesh Ranganathan show with Sally Traffic messing around and just talking all the time and not playing music? I don't want to listen to them chattering away as if there's no audience.

The drive time show on R2 has been great this week.

No Muppets.
No daft voices.
No kids in a car.

Love Sara Cox 🩵🩵

Me too.

BurntBroccoli · 14/02/2026 02:30

Radio 2 shows I can’t stand are Elaine Paige (that stupid goggle she does is so annoying); Rylan Clark on Saturdays and Sara Cox.

I love Liza Tarbuck, Jo Whiley and the 70s show (now Bob Harris) on a Sunday afternoon) have to be careful not to catch the end of Elaine Paige’s show!

PearlieQueen · 14/02/2026 00:33

Boom Radio all the way - especially if you listened to Radio Luxembourg back in the day

OonaStubbs · 14/02/2026 00:01

They should bring back Mark & Lard.

I really like Sally Traffic and Romesh’s chat. I find it very funny because he obviously finds her hilarious. I love it that she’s still on Radio 2 because I think back to her time with Johnny Walker.
honestly can’t stand Vernon Kay. I was listening the other day and he sounded like he was in a really bad mood. He was really unpleasant. I can’t remember in all the years listening to radio ever thinking that the presenter is in a bad mood. I don’t listen to Jeremy Vine for obvious reasons. I really like Trevor Nelson. He’s been such a great addition to the daytime. Not massively keen on Sara Cox. Like Vernon she can sometimes be a bit tetchy. Love Jo.

What's the obvious reasons with Jeremy Vine?

Vernon is starting to grate now, far too much shrieking, giggling and waffling on with Janice/Janine.

Zip it! I listen for the music not your inane yakking.

Agree! He was better but he's getting worse.

Each to their own!

She’s down to earth, fun and kind.
Tick, tick, tick.

So is my mum. But she'd be a dreadful radio presenter too.

I've got the Drivetime radio 2 show on right now. Sara has pronounced absolutely everything in a weird quirky way instead of just saying the words.

Just listened to the worst ever radio feature with Ritchie singing songs and trying to stay in time with the actual singer. It was painful

My ears are bleeding just thinking about it

Someone needs to inform Sara Cox that she is a middle-aged woman in her 50s. Continually shouting "scooby dooby doo" is embarrassing at her age.

TheAutumnCrow · 06/02/2026 19:20

BitOutOfPractice · 02/02/2026 13:35

I genuinely thought I was the only person in the world who thought that about her - she’s very popular on mn - so thanks for the solidarity.

Liza Tarbuck and Heidi Alexander MP have never been seen in the same room together.

RaraRachael · 06/02/2026 12:16

Even my OH remarked that the guy on Sara Cox was boring. He must have been as he rarely takes any notice of anything.

CrushingOnRubies · 06/02/2026 11:45

BassinBas · 06/02/2026 10:40

I heard that one! I thought he sounded drunk. Boring AF.

It was when someone texted in a comment about that the wedding speech is going to be epic or words to that effect 🤣

also the two callers previously were men of a certain age wanting rave music. When I was in the mood for someone who was already in a hot tub with the bubbly and wanted something by ABBA.

Nailed it 😂

I can’t get annoyed at the presenters for occasionally sounding tetchy, when they have to talk to some of these absolute knobs. I do wonder what the conversations about callers are like in the R2 office!! Probably a bit like the time Gordon Brown insulted that elderly lady.

Sara Cox last Friday on All Requests add this chap on and he went on and on for like 10 minutes about how he met his dp at the airport in lockdown. It was tedious

ednaclouda · 05/02/2026 11:24

love Rylan Love love Dermot love liza 'mad as a box of frogs' Tarbuck

I can't stand Sally Traffic! She is dreadful at delivering the traffic news! So many 'ums', stumbling over her words, mumbling - when I'm driving I want to know if there's a problem on my route and she fails miserably to let me know in a coherent manner. Why is she given so much airtime?!

I do agree Sally Traffic is getting a bit mumbly I usually notice it when am listening to Rylan but i do love her …. she’s still triffic

midwalker · 05/02/2026 11:06

Starlight1979 · 05/02/2026 10:10

Urgh they're always on their way to somewhere with a hot tub with a glass of "something fizzy" waiting for them 😭😂

Do you mean he says ‘on the one’s and two’s’?

if so it is referring to being a DJ. Back in the olden days (😂) when DJs had two vinyl records to spin and mix. Deck one and deck two. Hence ‘ones and two’s’. ‘

No, he says ‘on the tools’ which means people who work as builders, plumbers etc.
