To reckon that Reform will win the next election, and to be utterly terrified about it? 😪

i am a leftie

I think they’ll win

If don’t, they’ll have the majority in a hung parliament and govern as a minority party before joining with the Tories.

i’m going to tighten my belt re running my home and prepare for onslaught as the country becomes unrecognisable

"He enjoys being a cunt, that's all."

Like Starmer then?

Really?

Did you think I'm a Labour supporter?

Thingylingy · 28/01/2026 18:37

I doubt anyone in Clacton will be voting for him.

Goldenbear · 28/01/2026 10:22

Yes, what did he actually achieve as an MEP of 21 years!

Fuck all.

I don't think he really wants leadership. He enjoys being a cunt, that's all.

He would find an excuse to sell his company to the highest bidder quit at the first opportunity.

EstoyRobandoSuCasa · 27/01/2026 23:42

I don't understand it either. To me, Starmer seems to be a hard-working man who is at least trying to put the interests of this country first. (How he must have cringed when he had to give Trump that very special invitation from the King. But it had to be done.)

The people who disagree with Starmer's attempts to get us out of this mess seem to hate him vastly more than they hate the previous government for getting us into this mess in the first place. And why do most of them have silly nicknames for Starmer which are all rhymes or puns based on his name? It's starting to sound weirdly cult-like.

Or very Trump-like.... 🤔

Ficca · 27/01/2026 19:35

Can that happen? I thought there was something about tReform that wasn't like a normal political party, that it was a business or something?

Edited to add I've just had a Google and apparently Farage can't be challenged in the usual way.
https://www.open-britain.co.uk/blog/reform-is-a-business-not-a-party

Edited

This is very concerning ⬆️

The reason why Reform is incorporated as a company is to prevent anyone trying to initiate a coup

Yes. Exactly. It amazes me that some people can't see the problem with this.

There is no way to get rid of a bad leader, and Farage is a mini Trump 😬

For all its faults, I still prefer democracy, thanks.

In 99 days, Scotland has an election for our parliament. We have a form of proportional representation - you vote for a first and second choice. We have had 19 years of one party - whose avowed aim is to separate from the UK. Had not happened yet and is not very likely.
Many will vote against labour citing the months since the last UK general election, many will not vote conservative due to their last 14 years in charge at Westminster.

Some will vote SNP because they hate the English and cite events of hundreds of years ago. Some will vote because they sincerely believe Scotland can succeed independently.
A large number of voters are in positions which would not be adversely affected by independence. Some feel things will not be any worse under independence.

Some will vote Reform because they want "illegal migrants removed"
Watch and see how things happens here.
It is likely that Reform will get a lot of seats. Immigration is not devolved - so a Scottish government can do absolutely zero about illegal.or legal migration.

So in power have the SNP achieved their aim - no. Have they run Scotland well?
Would Reform achieve their aims in Scotland - no, not possible. Would they run Scotland well?

Of course as the man who crashed us out of the EU without a plan, will certainly be able to make us all prosperous again!

Farage was a campaigner he wasn't in power so couldn't implement Brexit - that was up to the government to plan and make the best of the freedoms that Brexit gave us. The government was stuffed full of remainers who tried constantly to stop any progress.

millymollymoomoo · 28/01/2026 17:54

Hope they do, can’t wait that long

The Dublin agreement was a waste of time many more migrants came here than were returned. The Times did a FOI on it. Brexit didn't cause more migrants it was a choice made by Boris.

Yep the numbers are publicly available anyway. They were minuscule and we took more than returned. It’s not just us it’s how the DA is structured, it’s not a way to send many anywhere. If it could do that Germany, ROI and EU would be using it to resolve their issues.

That is could be used for high numbers is misinformation that gets repeated a lot.

You're spot on, @Alexandra2001 .

My MIL, SIL and BIL all voted for Brexit and they're all now moaning about "boat people" coming over here "illegally". When I pointed out that the Brexit they'd voted for made entering the country to claim asylum much easier now we'd lost the Dublin Agreement right to return, they just looked at me blankly. They literally did not know what they were voting for.

And to add to my schadenfreude, SIL & BIL moved to a town that now has asylum seeker accommodation a few months before the asylum seekers were moved in. I'm afraid I can't resist pointing out that they voted for this every time they moan about it.

I’d go further. I’d hold my nose and vote Tory to keep them out if that was the only way. If anyone had told me five years ago that I’d say that I’d have said they were delusional.

This

i said i would never do it again but I might be forced to

MrsOlderButWiser · 28/01/2026 17:17

Reform UK led councils are under performing and putting their council taxes up despite saying they would cut them. They've closed residential homes and also there has been resignations and sleaze. To be honest with the recent defections to Reform from the Conservatives it is becoming Tory party 2.0 plus all the defections are from those who held high up posts in the Tory cabinet and caused the mess and chaos that Labour are trying to address. Farage has no experience of government. The only experience he has is stirring up hate and dividing our communities and nation. Reform UK is not change it is Tory policies on speed!

A lot of what people put out is misinformation anyway. Of course we had people getting asylum before Brexit it was highest in 2002 until recently.

The Left have IMPOSED mass immigration on this country, and they have IMPOSED a new identity on us. No one asked for it, and no one voted for it

Hilarious!
Bojo, then Sunak imported 5m people from SE Asia and Africa... in just 3 years... none will ever go home, changing communities forever.

The 'right also took us out of the EU, so opening the doors to cross channel immigration, we had none before, as the threat to send back migrants under Dublin Treaty worked.

I’m not at all a leftie and I’m also terrified.

They’re awful, corrupt, incompetent snakes and will be a huge risk to national security.

How will they be a security risk?

I would do the same and feel the same about it.

Perhaps all of the real shites will have left them for Reform by then. It's still hard to imagine the Tories will have gained any competency, decency or integrity by the next election. At least they are a political party though and not a volatile business run by a racist bully and populated by the worst dregs of a failed Tory party.

Only because thats all the media keep focusing on... changing ones mind is a sign of maturity (in many cases) once new info becomes available surely.

No politician gets it all right, not Farage, Badenoch or Starmer, making changes is good, as have they all done.

I'd rather that then just steam on ahead but of course one would prefer policy to to be good in all respects but the perfect is not always possible.

I'm not sure Sir Keir is changing his mind. The left are forcing changes on him.
