Make me feel better.

I took a photo to upload on an app as needed it for an agency (extra job) . Luckily I noticed the tag at the front as had my jumper on inside out 🤣🙈 It's health care. They'd be signing me up for a carer!

Years ago,id just given birth to ds2

In my defence I had postnatal depression, zero support and hadnt even known I was pregnant until the Monday before giving birth on the Saturday

The lack of sleep didnt help-he just didnt see the need to sleep and would just scream all day (unless I was holding him or he was in his pram being pushed)

By the time the poor mite hit 6 weeks old,Id left him at the shop (3 times),the bus stop (twice) at home,at my parents,at nursery (when I dropped off his siblings) in my mothers car,and at the park (twice)

It was like id forgotten id just had a baby

Im amazed I didnt have ss/police involved

I laugh (sort of) now but at the time I was a danger to myself and it was a very dark time

I spent twenty minutes searching for my phone- not unusual for me to 'lose' it, but not like this!
I searched house, car, every coat and jacket,
Turned out hand bags I hadn't used in weeks.
I was on the verge of tears and had used up every swear word I could think of several times, when my phone rang.
I had been carrying it around the whole time😵‍💫
Carefully putting it down to search coat pockets etc, then casually picking it up and resuming my search for it.......
FFS.

Was coming down with flu a few years ago, just starting to really feel grotty. Got home from work and couldn’t understand why my front door wouldn’t open. I was waving my work door pass at it and expecting the door to open.

I have done this many many times, I have also used on buses instead of my bus pass

@LittleMissyHappyMe if you're like me, try the top of your head for your glasses😂

LittleMissyHappyMe · 26/01/2026 20:00

Well I think I’ve put my glasses somewhere daft cos I can’t find them in the usual places…..

I was returning a large package to Amazon yesterday. I rolled it in on a hand cart. Everything went smoothly.. I was so thrilled to be able to cross the return off my list that I took the receipt and happily turned and made a speedy exit. As I was just outside the door, I heard the clerk yell, " Ma'am! Come back you've forgotten your cart". Boy was my face red.

Im forever doing things like this..once I went to the dry cleaners to pickup my clothes, presented my claim check, paid, and exited the shop without my clothes!

The most embarrassing was when I ordered food at a drive thru McDonald's, paid for it, put my car in gear and got about a car length away and I heard, "Ma'am, Ma'am, come back, you've forgotten your food!"🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

I picked up a framed photo in my Mum’s house, put my fingers on the frame and moved them apart to try to zoom in on it.

Oh, so many times 😬😂

I walked my daughter to nursery one morning, went in and hung up jacket and bag, then walked home with her. Didn't even realise until I'd made her breakfast that I'd forgot to actually take her into the classroom.

This happened only yesterday… Long day at work and was on my 2nd of 3 trains I need to get home.

The school rang to ask where I was as my eldest DC was waiting at after school club. My DH does Thursdays so rang him to find out where he was.

He pointed out it was Friday and my day to pick up the kids and he was on the train home. Worse, I’d driven in and the car was still sitting in the work car park.

I had to send an embarrassing WhatsApp to the class chat asking if anyone could pick my DS up and then get off the train and get 2 more back to the office to get the car

I shall never live it down!

Ice skating.

Fell for an email scam whereby I am now the proud possessor of a £100 Apple gift card I have no use for. The only upside is the scammer won't get the benefit of it but it was a very expensive life lesson. In my defence my life is extremely stressful at the moment and I just wasn't thinking straight Sad

MysticChevron · 24/01/2026 11:55

Pointed excitedly to something in a confectionary store cabinet, thinking the person in my peripheral vision was my daughter. Turned out to be the daughter of the owner, who looks nothing like my own. “Sorry, Darling! I saw the black outfit and thought you were my daughter!” I said. My daughter wasn’t even wearing black that day! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ poor thing must have thought I was crazy!

DinoLil · 24/01/2026 11:50

Fell down the stairs. Again. Second time in three weeks.

When I was checked in the hospital for various broken bits, they asked what had happened to my foot as it is swollen and has a fading bruise. 'Fell down the stairs' I said!

Last Saturday we were going to a party & i bought a brand new crossover style top from the local charity shop, originally from Next at a bargain price or so I thought. Trouble was I couldn't get the bloody thing on! Tried to put it on over my head, one arm at a time, both arms together, managed to finally get it on by stepping in to it and with OH helping me. I never would have managed it on my own. He also had to help me get it off. It went straight into the clothes recycling bag and now I know why someone donated it to the charity shop!

Went into Boots, picked up a basket but then decided not to buy anything. Left store and walked a good five minutes down the road before realising I was still carrying the boots shopping basket.

My dd1 did similar only she'd walked out of Primark with a full basket of stuff! She had to sneak back in 🤣

Haha, I've definitely tried to get through the barriers on the tube using my work pass multiple times... and into work using my oysters card (before the move to contactless). Funnily enough those things aren't interchangeable 😅

Unyun · 24/01/2026 09:02

I was thinking of buying men's pants for DS as he's outgrowing boy's clothes sizes. I was in the supermarket and took a picture of the packet of medium men's pants and sent it on WhatsApp to DW to check her thoughts on size.

2 seconds later I get an automatic acknowledgement WhatsApp from our vet! I'd sent a picture of a man's crotch to our vet!!

It couldn't have been one of the usual pictures I take of pizza or a gift idea. Had to be a man's crotch.

Asked a member of staff in the supermarket for help because my Lidl card wouldn’t scan. He told me we’re in Aldi. 🙈

I did similar once in Klass. Kept saying to MIL how lovely the things in Roman were for her. You can't go wrong in Roman. Dh whispered we're not in Roman 🙈 To be fair they're next to each other. Good job I didn't diss Klass!

Loving these, making me feel not quite so inadequate 😂

Love the walking to the MOT one. I've noticed that in my old age (mid 40s) I've REALLY had to start properly thinking about things like this...and trying not to be clever and invariably fucking up, like arranging to 'kill two birds with one stone as I've got to drop the car off the garage anyway' and then remembering the lack of car, duh 😅

Edited

Same, same, same! I used to be brilliant with dates and times - now I have to double check EVERYTHING! Stupid middle-aged brain fog! Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if I got my birthdate wrong now that I am in the thick of it - think I need an uplift for my medication!

Dropped a bottle of mouthwash in the downstairs bathroom, it hit the floor and went everywhere! Wiped it up, minty smelling bathroom, all good.
Following day, did exactly the same in the upstairs bathroom, 2 minty smelling bathrooms, huzzah!

Sounds like a life hack TikTok account waiting to happen!

Tigerbalmshark · 23/01/2026 22:56

I’ve dialled “9” for an outside line, from my mobile or home phone, more often than I care to remember.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 23/01/2026 22:43

My colleague told me she was testing the doorbell, we were both standing together. When she turned around to ask if I thought the volume was OK I was gone, i was standing at the door wondering where rhe mysterious caller had disappeared to.

Greentrilby · 23/01/2026 22:37

Popped into my local shop on the way home from work and just as I was driving off I saw DH going into the shop. Thinking he was picking up snacks on his way to football, I lowered my window and shouted “hiya gorgeous”. He turned round and yes, you’ve guessed it, totally random guy wearing the same coat as my husband. I was mortified - he just grinned and said “thanks luv!”.

Set up a recurring meeting on my phone, whilst taking to someone about something else. It turned out to be. 14 hour long meeting all night every other week!
